  1. Anelka was insane. The Locke era was awful but we did take 4 points from the first two pars games, 2 points from the first two Hibs games, took Hearts to extra time in a cup replay, and came back to get that 2-2 away to Dundee Utd, so there were some good weeks anongst the utter dross and many defeats. McGurn being dropped and not playing at East End sticks out as a crazy decision by an otherwise great manager.
  2. What a night that was. Definitely in my top 10 of Raith games I've seen.
  3. Good to see him starting well ! Im fairly confident we'll finish solidly middle table this season. Losing Hendry and relying so much on Spencer Matthews and Vaughan is not ideal but I think we'll be solid and hard to beat over the season, with a good few players able to chip in going forward.
  4. I agree that it's highly unlikely that 5k seats are needed but given the delay in getting tickets on sale I feel that we may have a substantially lower crowd than if we had got tickets on sale earlier and given Dons fans and Raith fans from out with Kirkcaldy more time to plan their journey ie book buses. I could be wrong though. Is there an option for fans without internet access to buy tickets at Starks ? I've not seen it publicised however I've only seen what's online. Would hope we weren't excluding the old guys that normally pay at the gate.
  5. This suggests we've not even tried to get an increased capacity. I know we probably wouldn't have needed it but I'm sick of paying a direct debit to Raith every month and watch them squander opportunities to make revenue independent of the begging bowl approach. Behind each goal used to hold 3360 approx seats, now 3000 since we don't seem to sell the first couple of rows. Could have had 2000 for each stand on sale last week, then release either another 500 to each team if required or more likely another 1000 to the Dons depending on sales, and if sales were going well ask for extra capacity. Gven the trains are off this could have encouraged a bigger away crowd. We've also managed to do offsite hospitality for early kick offs in the past, definitely for Celtic and I think Hearts at O'Conell's. Would 12 days not have been enough to organise this ? I realise even as I type this that I sound pretty bitter and there is probably three members of staff doing the jobs of half a dozen people behind the scenes at Starks
  6. Cheers Jase but I personally plan a lot of vertical drinking and embracing slightly grubby pensioners in busy Fife pubs for the forseeable
  7. Sounds like the indivdual is to blame rather than the pub. Could happen anywhere
  8. Bottles of T Export are very similar/possibly the same Available on the T website
  9. While we're talking pubs/clubs what about gig venues. Can you have a pint standing in a place like the barras ? If so can you have a pint standing up in your local if theres live music on ? If not why the discrepancy ? Swinney clearly has zero clue about hospitality
  10. He was at them around that time. I don't remember if he played that game although I had my head in my hands for a good part of it
  11. Fair point re the QP team. I remember that 2-2 v Albion well Another game that felt ferrible to lose was the playoff v Stirling in 2007. 0-0 at home then big crowd through to Stirling, bouncing pre match in the pub and ground. Then a total let down.. 3-1 Stirling
  12. I tend to agree that 5000 will be enough. We got just over 5000 for the televised Scottish cup draw with Hearts a few years ago, that was a similar ko time and Hearts had well over 3000 of the support. That said, it would be good if the club put the feelers out to Fife Council to see how difficult extra capacity would be to secure if require, is it a box ticking exercise or will the council have stringent requirements ? No one really knows if required. I know distancing is being scrapped but 5500 at Starks or East End would be a fair bit more spread out than 2000 at Bayview.
  13. Not sure if the following Raith games have been mentioned but: The 3 nil scudding at Somerset in March 2018 Being out on the cup at Hampden by QP.. not sure of the year
  14. Whole the collapse was awful and it feels like 2 points dropped, but have to say three of the goals were absolutely class
  15. Away tickets available on the ICT website should anyone fancy a trip to our bogey fixture following yesterdays result
  16. Fucksake ! She would have fainted if she was on my train last week going to Queen Street. Lot of young teams getting on at Polmont Falkirk etc. Some deffo enroute to the Celtic game. Dragon Soops and Tonic getting shared out all over the shop
  17. A few years ago now, but sometimes organised crime is no match for a local nutter: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/crime/rot-hell-you-fing-monster-11220688 https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/kirkaldy-murder-victim-alex-forbes-9565399
  18. I've been up to a few Kelty games in the last 2 years and I'm confident your car would be ok, parked anywhere in Kelty during the day. Never seen anything other than friendly banter at the games too.
  19. Interestingly a quirk of the ticket system is you can see exactly how many tickets are left in a stand as it would in theory let you order them all in one order. I say interestingly, it's all relative to the work you're avoiding at the time.
  20. Anyone know if The Estuary is open for refreshments ? Last I saw it was up for sale last year.
  21. Glad I settled on over 16's not any younger groups
  22. I'd really like to see the 8 week gap shortened if there is lower uptake amongst younger groups. Keep getting as many jabs in arms as possible. I'd also start on all over 16s too.
  23. I agree with most of your post including our communication having improved in recent years. I think the crowd will jump significantly from the league cup anyway due to season tickets being valid. Would just like us to get tix up for sale and start the advertising as early in the week as possible to maximise the potential crowd (within current limits)
  24. Inferesting to see Kelty having tickets on sale and social media building up their game with Cowdenbeath from yesterday, whereas no communication yet from Raith. Would hope we'd be doing what we can this week to ensure we get a 2000 crowd in for the first home league game in nearly 17 months.
