  1. Benburb 1-0 Rob Roy could’ve went either way to be honest. ball in the air a lot, not many chances but by no means a boring game. Benburb #5 Ryan Docherty won every ball at the back. New Tinto Park’s wee social club is a gem too. Great day out will do well to find a more animated manager than Paul Lovering - kicked every ball!
  2. I asked McBookie for odds on games and they said they'd be published the day before
  3. Haha I can confirm this was not me! I support neither Hearts nor Hibs, and I'll only be visiting my rivals ground in the away end. I've also never written a book.
  4. Talking about Bellshill Athletic - does anyone here follow them? Have a few questions.
  5. There are excellent coaches across Scotland for sure, but I've no doubt the coaching (facilities will matter too) at Celtic/Rangers are of a higher standard than the likes of Championship clubs where these players may end up being loaned to. Regarding opposition it's hard to see what level they're currently at without seeing them play so I'm really not sure. I think it'd assist with player development rather than hindering it but I get why a lot of people don't want it too.
  6. I’ve plans in Glasgow afterwards, so the logical option is Benburb I think.
  7. Interesting, Cheers! I'll try and make it along if I can.
  8. I wasn't really aware of any 'official' groundhop until very recently I'll definitely check it out. I know Fife well and I agree re cycling on country roads after dark. If a motor doesn't hit you a pothole certainly will.
  9. St Anthony's for me this weekend. Only restriction is 250 spectators but shouldn't be an issue. 10 min walk from Cardonald train station (after a 5-10 min train from Glasgow Central). Opponents are Kilsyth Rangers - should be good.
  10. Wow that's a lot of good advice thanks for taking the time. I've probably been to around 30-40, but I want to start from scratch as some were some time ago and I didn't appreciate the towns and clubs like I do now. I totally get the thing about strange groundhopping rules. The only real 'rule' I've set for myself is to see each team play a game at home. It's more a club hop than a groundhop as there's a few groundshares in there too (e.g. Cumbernauld Colts & Clyde = 2 visits to Broadwood). I also want to learn a bit about the clubs too. My first game will be St. Anthony's this weekend and I've found out already. That sort of thing is important to me too. I've no real plan apart from that. If I've got a free day I'll try and get down to a game and that's about the size of it. Totally agree about doing other things whilst I'm in different places - Especially the Aberdeenshire/Highland towns as I've very little experience up there. I'll definitely document the games in the thread. I've really enjoyed reading about other's experiences so far. Talking to and meeting people is part of the experience, and it's maybe something I haven't been great at in the past so there's a lot of personal challenges in there too on top of the football.
  11. With all the restrictions finally looking like coming to an end it seems like a good time to start. I’m going to try and get round at least 1 game in every league this season but my only real ‘rule’ is to see every team play a home game. apart from that it’s a blank canvas. I’ve had a few clubs wish me well on Twitter so I’ll try and make them a priority
  12. Thanks Andy! Maybe I’ll bump into you on my travels.
  13. Cheers guys! I’ve probably done around 30-40 but I’m starting from scratch for the purpose of this. I’ve got spreadsheets to track everything but I’ll get on this app too! it’s handy the juniors being in the pyramid now too, I know some aren’t too keen on being there but I’m a fan.
  14. It's in the FN2 Northern Pyramid and yeah the same username. Thanks!
  15. Thanks. I've put a post in there already as I've a couple highland trips planned. Don't think I've come across yer man yet though. If 280 is too low a number I definitely need to talk to this guy! I'm covering North Caley and North Division 1/2 although I know that's mostly Aberdeenshire sides at the moment. I've also calculated it to be 43312 round trip miles for me to complete the whole thing.
  16. Hi guys, Wondering if anyone here follows Cumbernauld Colts? Coming to visit soon and was hoping to have a general chat with someone about the club.
  17. Apologies, I wasn't sure where else to put this. I plan to groundhop round all 280 sides in the Scottish Pyramid (not including B & reserve sides). I want to see each team play at home. The next few years should be fun! I'm looking to speak to like minded people, people from specific clubs and anyone that can give advice - or even wants to come along when they can. This isn't league specific, so didn't want to put the thread in there - nor is it the 'official' groundhopping trip that happens each year. It's simply my own journey and I'd love to hear from you. I have a few pencilled in already, come say hi!
