While this thread in the main is clearly dominanted by Covid outliers, I think some of the posts above are representative of how people feel now.  People don't want to spread Covid, they accept having to do things like wear a mask in supermarkets etc and doing LFTs when appropriate but the idea that we are going to limit all household mixing or close large parts of the economy doesn't have much support at all.  The fact that we have high vaccine uptake and boosters is changing the way people feel.

I also think that during the first wave people were probably quite fearful of catching Covid and that has gone for the vast majority of the public, either due to more people having had it and recovered or people just being more sick of restrictions than fearful of getting Covid.

agree with a lot of what you say, no support for closing parts of the economy is interesting though, as i'm not sure everyone is concerned about the livelihood of those in hospitality, but rather their weekend enjoyment.

Anti vaxxers have been around for as long as vaccines, the modern day anti vaxxers would have been appaled at the small pox vaccine and surely refused to take it.

It was far riskier than any COVID vaccine, with the concepts of testing and quality control virtually non existent.

People should of course be allowed to refuse to take a vaccine, and spout publicly whatever nonsense they so desire. Unfortunately, their choice not only affects them but others - namely those whose immune systems are compromised and cannot take the vaccine (and of course the additional health care resources their decision leads to).

Businesses should be free to refuse admission to those who are not vaccinated (and have no clincal exceptions). Their views should be exposed as nonsensical and selfish when raised. But they are always going to exist, a world without vaccines would be a desperately worse place - anti vaxxers will be a vocal but small minority.

polio doesnt scare me, having good healthy working legs is way overrated.

One of my favourite albums is Disco Volante by Mr Bungle, but I wasn't much a fan of their self-titled debut, which was a hot mess of universally-panned w**k (half of the lyrics are about onanism). However, this track had me interested enough to keep an ear out for their future releases:

one of my favourite bands, i loved this album from the 1st listen, i found Disco Volante a difficult listen on release and only just recently ''embraced'' it, now, i don't dislike anything they've released be it studio albums or old demos from their tape trading days that have found their way onto You Tube, and Patton and Bungle have obviously lead me to Tomahawk & Fantomas

That's  too low a rating, my friend. Nothing less than 10/10 for this film. A classic in every sense.

There was some current day musician who said it was shite and the shark looked fake as f**k, it caused a stink on twitter

    I'm fairly sure it won't.

I would say the same in reply, however it would appear that ship has long sailed.

You might get a nibble or two from folk who take your babbling drivel seriously, however most of us are probably having a wee chuckle at the actual state of some loser pretending to live in a nice big house, welcoming another lockdown, just to get negative attention on a football message board.

    Unlucky.

you believe whatever makes you happy

  7. i like the Audi Q7 and Q8 but people who already own an Audi makes it difficult for me to consider, had one come out of nowhere last night at a crazy speed as the road goes from 2 lanes to 1, tried to overtake then undertake then eventually over took me and the car in front while cars are a travelling in the opposite direction, couple of Christmases almost ruined.

Are you planning to try and make a point any time soon?

If furlough was brought back, Sturgeon would have us locked down in an instant without the need to consult Parliament. Not that it would matter, as the toadies would vote it through without a hitch.

Doctors mewling about NHS winter pressures? Do you think this is some sort of 'gotcha'?

You do like disrespecting South Africa, though. Why is that? A reminder for your small collection of brain cells: real world evidence shows that Omicron is milder, hypothetical models show... whatever assumptions are build in.

i'll bump this when it turns to shit,
