  1. This is something I just can't get my head around either. Sim is a very successful businessman, who as you say has built his whole career in sectors that promote good governance and a prudent, cautious approach to business. I'm not privy to the internal workings of the Rovers, but from the outside looking in he seems to have driven a coach and horses through all of these principles in the way this decision was made.
  2. That's the thing that makes me very sad as well - acknowledging, of course, that this pales in comparison to the harm and hurt the club's actions have caused more widely. I'd accepted we weren't going up this year, but I was really looking forward to seeing how the team got on next year. The goals were coming again too - you could see Gullan growing in confidence during the Morton game, Poplatnik was looking sharp (and I'd have liked us to have offered him a deal in the summer if Livingston let him go) and Stanton looks like an incredible player. All seemed like thoroughly likeable characters too. As it is, who knows what will happen next season now.
  3. The irony is that there's no chance we'll get promoted with the defence we have. That much was clear as early as the Ayr game when we started shoehorning in specific players. That's what makes me so deeply sad about this whole thing. It was a completely unnecessary signing that may well have ended our club as we knew it, and one we didn't need to make. The goals were starting to come again. Gullan had his best game for us against Morton and got a few good shots away, Poplatnik had his tail up and I would have liked us to have signed him in the summer, Stanton was really settling in, and others (e.g. Tumilty) were starting to chip in with a few goals again. Scoring goals wasn't the problem. Conceding them was. I'd accepted we weren't going to go up this year, but was really looking forward to seeing how a very likeable team were going to get on next year. As things stand, I can't bring myself to care and won't be watching.
  4. I don't post on here much, but like many other Raith Rovers fans I am disgusted and upset by what has happened in the last 24 hours, and won't be following the game tonight. I know it's not the main issue at stake here, but I'd just like to acknowledge the Queen of the South fans who are just trying to follow their team and have found themselves caught up in something that is not in any way of their making; and the Queens players and staff who will be going out there tonight and trying to do a professional job under very trying conditions. Good luck for the relegation battle, and I hope I can see the Rovers taking on Queens at Starks or Palmerston under better circumstances in future.
  5. I noticed that too. By my reckoning we've conceded (in the league) 9 goals in the last 10 minutes of games, and 14 in the last 20 minutes. I calculate we've also dropped 11 points from games where we were leading. Not sure what the reason is or what we can do about it, but it's a worrying pattern that we saw again today.
