The only reason there isn’t automatic promotion and relegation in and out of the SPFL is because diddy clubs in L1 and L2 know that they’re no better than loads of non league clubs.Especially without their yearly hand out.

I’d imagine the LL clubs will vote for it too. Most clubs that have gained licenses recently won’t get a vote as the SFA changed the rules and started making them associate members with no voting rights. Once again to further the self preservation of SPFL clubs who don’t want to get outvoted .

None of the SPFL clubs who’ve gone down have come back. There has to be automatic promotion for at least 1 club.The self preservation in Scottish football is astonishing.

If what is happening at Dumbarton was happening to a local league club in England the local MP would be all over it.

Auchinleck have virtually no stature in Scottish football. They are a small village football club. Nobody who is interested in an SPFL club (which is the vast majority of fans in the country) gives a fig if they’ve won Junior Cups or various other tinpot trophies.They are an irrelevance.

There’s no chance of Clydebank ever playing in the Junior Cup. They can’t wait to get away from the Junior dinosaurs who are now infesting the WoSFL management committee. I really don’t know why most clubs in the WoSFL don’t just go back and set up the West Juniors again.The set up they are in now was never meant for the majority of them.

I have said that the conference idea is rubbish! The status quo is worse though.

With more clubs from west,east and south in the LL the voting dynamic would change and it would be opened up.. As it stands it’s crap.

It is awful! The Conference League is awful too but it at least offers some kind of solution to the log jam at the bottom of the LL.

The current set up is awful! 1 promotion place from 3 leagues is laughable.

I’d imagine they’ll already have enough support to get it through or they’d have ditched it. The status quo with 1 relegation place from the LL is worse than the conference league option for clubs south of the Tay!
