  1. Would have to disagree with this one - Option to buy online and download to your device removes the need for payment at the turnstiles. I think you potentially introduce a bottleneck if you allow card payment at the point of entry.
  2. I can concede there has been small improvements in our online offerings since the issues were highlighted. However, there still appears to be room-for-improvement and the cosmetic changes that happened to the main site the last time the topic was raised haven't totally addressed the underlying deficiencies. Having emailed the club and got an informative email back from JS, it's an area they want(ed) to improve and have to a degree but some of the basics are still lacking and I still hope the club will go further on that front. As for analytics re SM engagement I'd argue it's not as simple as it appears to be being presented. Twitter has a character limit (and the club are actually pretty good at linking back to the main site for long-form content) so that is driving traffic back. The gripe is then that the rest of the site isn't maintained as well so you frustrate the user when they look for something else and don't find it. I don't have a FB account so for users like me I can't see anything and instead would rely on the main site. Other considerations are the club owns the content of the site (posts/images etc) and you remove the reliance on the tech giants to a degree - if for some reason the club got banned, services went down globally or they changed their access model (no free tiers) as unlikely as those events seem. Realise the last time this topic blew up on here it got a little OTT. Fundamentally we all want improvement off AND on the pitch (and it's doesn't have to be a perceived negative to strive for that).
  3. Not at all. I'm sure Akinyemi has scored 6 of those 10 - 1 coming from their RB on Friday night - whereas we have Morrison, Burrell, Lawal, McGuffie and Alegria all capable of scoring. If your looking at stats Dundee have struggled for goals recently.
  4. On the subject of Dundee. Watched the televised game on Friday night and would say we have more than a chance. We play very similarly to Ayr (Alegria performing the Akinyemi role) and perhaps have a wee bit more threat in attack than they do so I would be confident facing them but they are at home so have the advantage. It's winnable.
  5. Ahem... I said after the Airdrie game he would be more effective out wide
  6. You're going to go ape when you discover they likely drive a tractor over it a couple of times a week
  7. I preferred when we all just disagreed about the club website and social media!
  8. Mutch isn't our player anymore so I couldn't care less! I can't even begin to understand why this criticism would be made - Burrell has done everything he can, scored it and took the chance well. Go and wind up the FC Edinburgh fans on their thread about their goalie but it's unnecessary here.
  9. Burrell's finish for the 3rd is so good. Just rolls it in as calm as you like. Wonderful stuff
  10. You've reminded me that the official club podcast has gone a bit quiet. Hope your appearance wasn't the kiss-of-death
  11. I'd think Scott Allan would have been an option if we didn't have a glut of players for that area already: McGinn Hetherington Lawal McGuffie Nesbitt Yeats Ross Regardless what we think about their respective qualities, McGlynn would have a hard-time justifying the funds on another midfielder when he's brought in three of his own and potentially benching two (Hetherington; McGuffie) who it appears, aren't easily disposed of. Had we had a younger midfield profile it may have been do-able.
  12. Watched the highlights and Williamson's lung-bursting run for his goal is superb - He was flying yesterday. Definitely a contender for SPFL TOTW having topped his performance with that goal.
  13. I think Nesbitt played well out wider and didn't do too much wrong. Morrisons goal put the gloss on his performance but he still had a return of 1 from 10-12 shots he had on his own! Hetherington could be replaced with any other and I doubt anyone would notice.
  14. Even accepting Nesbitt was rightly dropped I'd be fuming if Hetherington kept his place too.
  15. Nesbitt I can tolerate IF he's moved wide but not centrally. Hetherington should be sat firmly in the main stand enjoying the game with a pie.
  16. Generally I am beginning to find this type of comment irksome. Plenty of teams who don't have our budget are regularly outperforming and on occasion embarrassing us. Money is a factor but it can't be the be-all and end-all or we'd surely have changed approach since relegation. I'll be interested to see our midfield on Saturday as going back to Dick Campbell's mantra that you should only sign players who are better than you've got (or will make you better)* then I'd hope Lawal will start having presumably trained all week. If it's the same lineup with the expected reshuffles then why spend it on punts or squad players.
  17. Not sure we should expect any less to be honest. We've had and continue to have zero consistency in defensive selections from week-to-week and that must have an effect. Yeats was in on Saturday instead of Williamson and we have shuffled for various reasons already this season CB pairings. It was the same last season and season before. It seems the only nailed on positions are in our ineffectual midfield and it's killing us.
  18. In the aftermath of Saturday I was keen to bin Nesbitt but now I'd be inclined to throw him out to the right wing for Saturday. I'd persist with playing McGuffie instead of Morrison and dispense with the inverted wingers we saw. Hetherington is still a lost cause. I'll get my email into the club with that suggestion as soon as I get my tactics sheet sorted
  19. I'll disagree. He ran out-of-puff 2nd half but he's miles better than Hetherington or Nesbitt. McGuffie waltzed out of 3 Airdrie challenges with top footwork in one passage of play and set us away. There is a player in there but we are lacking confidence and hopefully wins will breed that.
  20. Difficult to sum that one up. In control for much of the 1st but passed up chances and were punished. Airdrie offered little IMO and thought McGuffie was decent and Morrison wasteful. Service to Alegria was poor and when he did get in behind he fluffed the setup. 2nd half the ref went all in on having a 'mare and gave them a hand they probably didn't need and blew the wind out any possibility of a comeback. Hetherington and Nesbitt not cut out for the graft needed I'm afraid - which we all knew but hopefully McGlynn realises now.
  21. Sounds like there was a difference of views between the BOD and what Doug Moodie, as elected FSS representative, thought. The reference to ALL parties learning lessons and how the model can succeed suggests there has been some friction in the board room. As suggested in other posts it's a noble idea to govern by consensus ... until there isn't.
  22. Posting on more standard forum fare - Complete curveball and probably unrealistic but thoughts on free-agent and apparently "open to the right move" ex of Aberdeen, Dylan McGeouch? He could inject some creativity into our midfield.
  23. That's a bit much. Rotten veg in the centre circle would suffice! I'm serene about the whole thing now.
