  1. I can reveal it definitely won't be Brian Rice (again).
  2. Kenny Miller wants them to take the shackles off - I'd rather they put their football boots on for once! Can't see us getting anything out of this and for those travelling, enjoy your day in Glasgow.
  3. Harry Milne going to Partick Thistle still suggests that most players aim is to go full-time as per Anton Dowds when we signed him. I think it is those clubs preference who are part-time to remain that way for various reasons rather than the argument that they can attract better part-time than full-time players.
  4. "He's dugmeat" "He was badly treated before so wouldn't come back" "We can get better by casting the net wider than Edinburgh" Think I've covered the bases for potential replies.
  5. Aye. A lot of posters think our leagues full of dross teams, the youth teams opposition are dross and the players we we've moved on are dross. The minimum we should expect is to compete in whatever competition we play, which hasn't been the case in recent memory but it does seem like the expectation levels have become completely unrealistic hence perhaps why we seem to be stuck in this spiral of loathing playing/coaching staff past and present and future.
  6. ... Aye - In the stands above the pitch on current form! Was woeful yesterday
  7. No agenda. I was in hospitality today and it was announced at conclusion of the afternoon so will be common knowledge now. As is always said there are so many unsung people at the club who make it what it is but we either have the habit of undervaluing or under-appreciating their efforts.
  8. Aye. Sharon McGuire leaving hospitality team after today's game too. Cost cutting in operation as opposed to any strategic improvement the board have identified.
  9. They've bloody we'll beat us! What exactly is the detractors beef with Rice?
  10. Obviously disagree. Alloa aren't going to turn over sides realistically so to get them competing from where they were dropping like a stone to grabbing 5th with decent results should make him a contender. Given the resources we could give him he'd make us challengers at least.
  11. Have to say, as much as he was a fish out of water he at least put some effort in and was MotM. That's how poor everyone else was! Never a striker as he had opportunity in 2nd half and shirked it to for Dowds when in better position. As for manager chat, we should be looking at Rice. He's taken a woeful Alloa under Ferguson and got them organised. Clear standout at this minute for me.
  12. Charlie Telfer goes to bat for Miller in Falkirk Herald this week. Seems like the PR campaign is beginning to soften up the support in favour of him getting the job. Also interesting to note that inwardly the players enjoyed Rennie and Millers management as Telfer expresses disappointment in Rennie's departure and suggests that KM isn't too disimilar. I'd put him odds-on favourite now.
  13. The issue KM has with the media work - and any other managerial pundits in employment - is that when your club is doing well no-one really cares. However, when your giving your opinion on others whilst your own club is sub-par it sticks in a lot of supporters craw. The saying "Sort your own house before commenting on others" can then be easily levelled at said pundits.
  14. Just to weigh in on the DoF role. I see the argument re cost and accountability etc but as a counter argument is there a longer term view that having someone in that role responsible for scouting, contracts and other operations above the coach means that IF the coach is successful and leaves then he doesn't leave with his book of contacts and jeopardise longer term planning that the club would do with said coach. Just a different perspective and no endorsement of Rennies continuing employment. Also get Miller TF.
  15. So much for the transparency espoused by the new BoD. Clearly planning for next season has begun by Rennies comments. To not have made a decision and communicated that to the relevant parties is concerning. Football-wise there is zero improvement with greater resources than Sheerin had - and unhampered by Holt's influence regardless of what it was - so any assessment indicates it's failed. On that basis there is nothing wrong with announcing that club will go in a different way at the end of his contract thus beginning the recruitment for his replacement and allowing them to be involved in the process. Even if it's the case that this has all happened in the background and a replacement has been sounded out we can go through the charade but to not publicly have made the decision at this stage is mind-boggling.
  16. judging by the crowd noise levels yesterday the "The sound of silence" would be appropriate.
  17. Aye. Frustrated that they conceded goals not that they lost. Everything wrong with their attitude summed up in one sentence (as mentioned, not his). Only Mutch recently has looked liked he's had his fill of his own teammates BS but hasn't helped he's had a few 'mares since then. His body language during the game looks like he'd rather be anywhere else than Falkirk.
  18. If you thought Rennies interview was bad then McGuffies tops it! Lewis needs to stop with the soft-ball, often rhetorical questions. The post match isn't meant to be the interviewers view parroted back by the interviewee
  19. Tend to agree. Throws up more questions than it answered. "Good conversations happening with players" Does that mean the recruitment strategy we were looking at when we binned Holt has been finalised? Does that mean Rennie and Miller are getting to continue? If not, are we doing a la Holt and signing players that a "head coach" will be asked to work with instead of appointing a manager with overall responsibility. On the game, Wilson and McCann must be close to the exit. Same players honking every week and can't even get on as subs. New lad getting on ahead of you when Griffith's is dung and Kabia's hobbled.
  20. Club expecting trouble after last week's fan "interventions". Metal fencing in-situ in front of the South Stand side of the pitch.
  21. I'd hoped Rennie would have been gone Sunday night but alas he is still in place for today. Only expectation today is Cove to win at a canter and to witness another low this season. If he's still in post come Monday the new BoD are sleeping at the wheel. We should see out of the season without our management team in the dugout if today pans out as predicted.
  22. Good riddance. Not sure I put much stock in the opinions of Paul Dixon to be honest.
  23. On the positive side we've had another good week of training
  24. Watson injured for 9 months. Another space to fill and Mills probably won't be seen again this season. Saturday is going to be horrific.
  25. It does seem that way. A complex business structure where the community teams have more access to the stadium and surrounding infrastructure - I'll also include Comley Park in this - and yet the major reason for any of it's existence is playing second fiddle.
