  1. Congratulations to Nicky Jamieson on completing a 100 games for the Warriors. Well, I saw a Jamieson 100 jersey and I'm guessing that's what it was for .
  2. Fully agree. Definitely no need for chins to drop or to feel deflated. I believe Naysmith won't let the team drop in standard. There's a lot to take from that game on Saturday, we'll learn from it, hopefully get fired up and go again against Bonnyrigg. Show why we're top of the league. As for Nat, we watch him each week. We know how much he's given this season and the level of his performances.
  3. Well done to Clyde, thought they looked hungry, won pretty much every second ball, held their shape well and looked strong. Allan, Cuddihy and Rennie all put in good performances. We allowed them too much time on the ball, 4th goal in particular. First goal, our wall split a part for the free-kick and the 2nd was a howler from Meechan. Jacobs isn't a right back and was surprised not to see him move into midfield, Meechan over to right back and Lynch come on for Brown at half-time. Aitken seemed to stumble and couldn't find his feet. His movement was off, didn't get in front of a defender or provide many lay-offs. A bad day at the office for him. Got to hope that this provides a sobbering wake-up call to the Warriors players and we get our determination and drive back. We go again next weekend and we need a win. Poor Jimmy Choo, what you going to moan about tonight?
  4. Fully agree. He's definitely not better than Aitken or good enough for the first 11. Just let the dug off the lead against Clyde and watch him running around full pelt chasing the baw. Clyde players wondering what the f*** is going on .
  5. Pure speculation, but wonder if Naysmith will think about starting Rodden in place of Aitken? Get Rodden running and stretching the back line, pressing and just pushing it for 60 odd minutes. He doesn't hold the ball up well enough but he could give our attacking midfielders more space to work in. Bring Aitken on against some tiring defenders and he'll cause problems. Don't think the result is going to be as flattering as some Clyde fans think, this could be a tight game.
  6. Can see Jacobs starting, in place of Brown. Just want Aitken to get on the score sheet and a Warriors win.
  7. Wasn't at the game but looking at the substitutions, I couldn't make out who we had in defence. Looks like we had 2 recognised defenders on the park. Delighted to have taken a point and results went our way too. Mon the Warriors.
  8. Surprised Stirling has got the nod in front of Meechan. Wonder if Meeks is carrying a knock? Not a lot of pace in that back line now.
  9. Definitely. Elgin's signings have been very clever, getting Gallagher in especially was a nice bit of business. Two teams on form, should be a good contest and decent game of football. Just hope the weather holds up. Going to come down to the battle in the middle of the park and if our attacking players can impose themselves more than they have in previous games. Easier said than done but if we can keep the press going and stop the Elgin defenders from distributing the ball, we'll have enough to take 3 points.
  10. Talking about our team with such adulation, hard to pick a stand out performer. What a conversation to be having. Great points regarding Bucky, Neilly. You could make a case for more of the players too: Bilham - hadn't really heard of him before. Has came in, got in the team; after Lowdon had to leave for injury, and hasn't looked back. Consistently wins his tackles, stops a lot of crosses at the first phase, overlaps and covers well. Always keen to keep up his work rate and put a shift in. The ball is put high on top of him nearly every game and he's adapted. He wins a surprisingly large amount of headers. Also seen an improvement in his distribution and passing. O'Reilly - back to his best. Brilliant going forward, consistent threat with loads of skill, works hard and has added a few goals. Wedderburn - His mobility has remarkably improved, no one can hold the ball up and distribute it as well as he does. Usually a good decision maker and has been a catalyst in Anderson's form. He's fantastic in maintaining possession in a tight space and I still sit in awe at his footwork in those situations. You just don't expect it. Love Big Nat, great guy too. The whole team have been delight to watch this year. The team celebrating every goal together with such passion, the work rate, the drive to go on to win or keep that clean sheet every game, it's impressive. Even when we aren't playing well, we're getting the results and go again. We all know this but it just highlights how good an appointment Gary Naysmith and his staff has been for us. If he wins us the league, I think he surpasses; my favourite gaffer, Terry Christie. Mon the Warriors!
  11. Between Nicky Jamieson and Mikey Anderson for me, Anderson just shading it. His overall progression this season has been fantastic. To go from a bench warmer to potentially the best centre mid in the league, is an impressive feat.
  12. East Fife always seem to give us a close contested game, this will be another but we should have more than enough to come away with 3 points. Agree with Neilly, would be good to see Taylor, Yates, Wedderburn and Jamieson restored to the first 11. Ideally, it would be good to be in a comfortable place during the match, where players like Kirkpatrick and Stirling could get on and get 20 or so minutes.
  13. First 20 minutes of the game was scrappy and not much on show, then Dumbarton took control. Some nice passes and thought Kelly linked up play well. They looked threatening but missing that crucial pass or confidence to just hit one. Pignatiello was giving Bilham a hard time and was always a threat, fantastic player at this level. Rodden was lucky to stay on, thought he had a blatant kick out at a Sons player and was only booked. Naysmith made 2 perfect changes at the right time and the pace of Taylor with Yates's work rate just caused the Sons so many problems. The main factor in the improvement in our performance was Mikey Anderson. Superb effort that rattled the ball but he retained more possession and started to win the battle in the centre of the park. Thought he was the best player on the pitch by the end. Ryan Blair's red card was just silly, there was no need to do it. Crighton could've walked as well with his tackle on Taylor but think Dumbarton had players slightly further back than Crighton. Was a cynical foul. Think we deserved 3 points by the end of the game and other results favoured us too. Peterhead and Spartans inconsistency could be the factor that wins us the league. One other thing, some terrible haircuts being sported by the Dumbarton players... Finlay Grey especially with a shocking mullet. get that shaved Son .
  14. Got to keep our heads up and stay positive, keep the drive going. Another difficult fixture next weekend though.
  15. Nervous for today...Fingers crossed, that we can keep the winning run going. Mon the Warriors!
  16. Delighted that we've managed to re-sign Nicky. He's an absolute machine. Having Buchanan beside him and DJ behind, has allowed Nicky to develop. His positioning, composure and decision making have improved a lot this season and the whole team is seeing the benefit from it. I can't think of a better centre back in our division.
  17. Brilliant news that DJ has re-signed. Best keeper I've seen play for the Warriors. Well done to everyone getting this done.
  18. Didn't think we'd sign another player but it's good to see Naysmith getting the backing he needs to add to the squad and increase our squad depth. I've only seen him play once, I think, and that was for Accies a while ago, where I'm sure he came off the bench and played as a CB. Hasn't played many games in the last couple of seasons, but Naysmith will get the best out of him.
  19. Fully agree. As I said before, it looked like a yellow card and seeing the highlights, I can't see where the merit for a red card comes from. Hope we appeal.
  20. From my angle, I didn't see what Wedderburn done to merit a red. He jumped up and in from behind but looked more of a yellow card. Couldn't see if he led with an arm or leg. Aitken was persistently held or pulled back, barely got a free-kick never mind the defenders being booked. I thought Stenny had a clear handball penalty claim missed in the second half. Rodden getting a piggy back from the Stranraer left back was pretty funny. Positives - Anderson's foot work and skills today were impressive. His little Zidane style turn between three players was tremendous. Meechan and Bilham's high work rate and prevented a good number of crosses into the box. Another 3 points, extend our lead to 16 points but we'll need to play much better to continue the winning run against Peterhead next weekend. Hope Nicky and Bucky are alright.
  21. Delighted Nat has re-signed. He's had a great season and seems to be a big influence in the changing room too. Anderson definitely has flourished playing along side the big man. Cult hero.
  22. Didn't get the best of view of it during the game but O'Reilly's flick to put Aitken through was tremendous. Then, Aitken's little deke inside the defender putting him on his arse before slotting home, beautiful. Great goal.
