I would like to think that the FSS is looking to sponsor the home kit (at least) for our 150 anniversary shirt and leave it blank -except for certain games where charities like Strathcarron are represented on the shirt.

We simply cannot have our 150th strip messed up with a sponsor, (unless Ineos or someone else offer funny money)

….but even these people must realise the importance of our 150th anniversary and pay accordingly to make up a deficit.

Disagree with this. FSS money goes into the club either way, as a direct donation as now or as a share purchase when that’s available. Diverting funds would then reduce overall income to the club. Double whammy as I expect the club also pays some kind of tax on sponsorship income.

I wouldn’t be so precious about this. If anything, 150 will be an opportunity to bring in more income.

Give me a new starting GK, Tait and Oakley as your three summer bits of business to add to the current squad and I’d be delighted.

Oakley going to Plastic Whistle according to my little birds. Would love Tait back, he’s a Rolls Royce.  Think we need more numbers in the spine too, c.f. How difficult things got for us at the end of the season but especially Dunfermline when their defenders/muscle got injured.

I hesitate to mention the name in an attendance thread, but Falkirk coming up will be a big jump compared to Arbroath. But then Livi replacing Dundee Utd probably cancels that out. Whether it's ICT or the other play-off teams won't make a significant difference so attendances should stay pretty similar next year.

I'm torn. I was going to say get this thread binned before GTF day or it will be a "you've created a monster" type scenario with the Navy Blue crowd wankers.

Even Airdrie fans are crowdwanking over The Invincibles! Can’t wait to be back. 🙂

Not great to be at the foot of this table but that's us averaging 800+ more fans than at Ochilview last season.  Continued work with the community and schools along with a better performance on the pitch then we should hopefully nudge our attendances into the 2000s next season.

It’s okay big fella. The Invincibles will boost that figure next season. 🙂

  5. Alloa made us absolutely shite ourselves yesterday. Any Falkirk fan saying losing didn’t matter because we’d won the league anyway were about as convincing as a Tory on TV this morning talking about “the plan”.  If Sammon had killed the invincible dream it would have been ulcerous. We must be honest about that.

Alloa is the most improved team in the division. Genuinely hope they go up, for various reasons, but primarily because I like the pubs and the view of the Ochils. If not them, then Montrose, for similar reasons (principally the pubs). Had some great awaydays in this division and some class acts as hosts.

I know they promised to freeze prices but this is going to bite the club in the bum. If for eg we get promotion next season (just a scenario) the jump in price to compete in that league will need to be huge due to the club keeping ST prices so low for so long.

Yes, there is an option to contribute more but is this really a good way to go?

What a lovely dilemma to have! Fair question to ask though

Yes, I think it is the right way to go. First of all, it was a promise made and a bit of a social contract with fans to back the club through thick and thin (it felt thin at the time, mind) which we did. Second, folk still aren’t rolling in it so this gives an affordable minimum buy-in for those who are finding finances tough, so it’s inclusive. And third, there are now several options for folk to contribute more if they want, and some of these more tax/VAT efficient.  So I think we’ve got it spot-on.

  7. This is just part of the transition into fan ownership. If you buy into the idea, are willing and (most importantly) able to pay more, then there’s a range of options. If it rankles to be asked to contribute more, then the immediate following thought has to be “I won’t” which everyone has the freedom to do without any come back. I’ve heard it argued that some feel under appreciated if they don’t contribute beyond tickets, strips etc but I don’t buy that as paying more is discretionary and anonymous.

There’s of course a legitimate debate around how the funds are raised, but a) we elect our own directors to come up with these ideas and b) the doors are always open to volunteers to help devise and deliver new ideas.

Bottom line is that it’s our club now so up to us how we fund it.

Inverness now beating Queens Park today means that Queens Park are in that playoff spot with 3 games remaining I would personally much rather have Inverness does worry me a bit that if Queens Park were to go down and it's not us going up from the playoffs that they could walk the league next season I'm pretty sure they've got a bit of money available  they do have a decent squad obviously just recently changed their manager as well I am a bit surprised that they're sitting 9th. On a positive note it does mean there is a possibility that we could have a final at Hampden.

Exactly the reason we want them to go down and Alloa or Montrose up
