I always liked PJ and wondered why we released him. Watching the highlights a second time I guess he got his revenge yesterday without him they lose that game 3-1 or more.
And the FPS is awful again - I would prefer if the highlights went up on a Sunday afternoon if it was to improve quality.

Anyone else remember Stranraer away 30 years ago? That team did not too bad for the rest of the season!
I remember the long slow drive home on a B road that meant no-one could over take.

Someone yesterday said it was a cliche that a bad pitch was great leveler - today disproved that. Our wingers couldn't play the ball or use their pace and ball control to get round them and we were forced to play a long ball game (once we wised up after 15 mins). I also think that that pitch suits the hammer throwers that Bonnyrigg are composed of. if that had beern at teh Falkirk Stadium we would hammer them. Oh well.

The high winds forecast have not appeared - my dog walk was actually pleasant and not too cold. Other than the pitch surface the game should be OK. I'm looking forward to it.

I spoke to Bonnyrigg today and they are now hopeful it will be on. Thawing out already
It's bloody cold though but mostly the wind chill. Just walked the dog - he's a husky malmute breed and he was glad to get home. Wrap up warm.
As an aside the pitch was apparently rutted to f**k at the last game and players were tripping up so it will be a bit of a leveller.

I am meant to be coming up on the train. Hopefully it thaws in time. Not prebooking the train - just in case
As I said earlier this week the weather app is predicting rain and between 2 and 7 degrees and Bonnyrigg is 3 miles away. That said my toilets and showers are all frozen this morning and I am a smelly chap sans shower.

Absolutely (that’s if the game goes ahead - weather isnt breaking till Friday/Saurday and would need to thaw out very quickly after five days of minus )
It's cold here today (-5 overnight) and frost on the ground but rain is predicted for Friday/Sat if you trust the iphone app.
EDIT: just checked and they have updated it to 50% chance of frost and 3 degrees during day.0 -
I just want to say I raised this and I apologise: I did not make any criticisms until I thought we wEre being told it was a paid for service. I would never criticise volunteers if they are working for nothing - I appreciate the time they put into the club.

So is this the situation - that the camera person is part of a contract with Pars TV? I've been wary of criticising the highlights package because I thought it was a volunteer but if it is a paid for service then we really should be moaning. It is pretty awful. Never mind the quality and the camera work but the editing fails to show some of the significant events in matches and this week noone would know the line ups or the half time subs. It strikes me that the Sat night edit si done too quickly and haphazardly.

Got to remember the highlights that EC do are not sent out at midnight, they are edited (normally with dubbed comms), but you can see time is taken to give a nice edited package, imo ours look like they are recorded straight off the stream so quality is slightly less.
Yes but the same camera position is more or less used and the quality is much better - that's not the editing.

So what do you think Dave McInally re the cameras? You are the professional here?

Here you go Edinburgh City's version of the highlights which is much better resolution, brightness and clarity than ours. Do we need better cameras? This is much better to see the woeful first half (and the great saves their keeper made).

Since no one has mentioned, Edinburgh albeit with a first team made up with rookies and youngsters - good luck.
If they move from Meadowbank then I agree. I felt for the woman selling cakes and raffles in the Falkirk side yesterday - Edinburgh City's owners do not deserve her. It's supporters like that who are the real owners of any team. I hope they survive (and their new signings are better than their old team it seems)

There’s only one direction in which to point the accusatory finger, mate, and that is the way of the Falkirk FC team management who decided to change a winning team formation and players simultaneously.
Fair enough but let's not forget who got us that winning team formation and players in the first place. Learn and live and onwards and upwards and let's assume the lesson has been understood and won't happen again.

He "takes responsibility for the first half" which is more than I expected. He's still a good manager and we still have 6 points advantage so let's not throw the baby out with the bath water.

Sadly I've seen it and he isn't lying.

Falkirk from c. 30 mins. Telfer having to admit we are bloody good.

Also the players move much more off the ball - look at the Cove highlights; their players are mostly static while we set up the next pass as when the player dispatches the ball they then move into space to give a diagonal option (which means 1-2s are easier and very effective in passing the last man). It's such an improvement onn the last few years.

I can’t stand the “you are where you should be” that we hear aimed at us a lot. It’s usually aimed at us by the fans of the smaller clubs who are in the championship. We are where we are, it’s not where we should be. Not with the resources available to us.
They forget the Armstrong money made a huge difference to clubs like Arbroath who were gifted more than their annual turnover (it was given out on league placing not annual turnover which is why we and Thistle lost out badly). The money is running out now and you can see the effects as teams begin to drop like stones in the leagues. There is one and only one accurate predictor of league placing and it is player contract budgets - in every league this is the only thing that correlates with success or failure (not even transfer budgets).

Shout out the the "young team" who were excellent for the whole 90 mins last night. Even the main stand joining in to serenade Hartley was a particular highlight. Do you know that w*nker left Falkirk, went to an English club, signed 17 players that summer and then left them 2 months into the season? Guy's got no integrity at all. GIRUY!
There's a known trick in football that you inflate players wages and they pay you back with most of the signing on fee. Barry Fry was known for that. I always wonder why Hartley signs so many players every club he goes to with no view to ability, I'm sure that would not be true of him.

Loved last night. Could have only been improved with even more hate chanting at the rat. Even normally quiet people in the main stand were joining in on the abuse, he is hated so much.
Wish there were two games every week - watching this football is glorious.

Wouldn't it be much easier and better if new posts cam up at the beginning of all threads at the top? There are 600+ pages in the Falkirk forum for instance and everytime I come to P&B then I have to find the last page? It's a very helpful website and I am not moaning but this would be a huge improvement (and if you can change settings to get this then I apologise but I tried looking).

Rumour is that he expected to go during close season but was initially told he was very much in the club's plans. And then found others signed (thankfully) for his position - by which time he had turned down a number of enquiries and had nowhere to go. That will disillusion anyone. All that said he's not good enough for us.
