  1. Last week I resigned from the FSS committee. I absolutely remain in favour of FSS and encourage people to join and increase its influence.

My resignation was because of a number of issues including the lack of enthusiasm on the FSS committee by some people to challenge the Board when there is a dispute. I was told by significant members on the committee that FSS should never try to bring an idea to the Board if there is no chance that the Board will support it.

FSS is independent, and should be a trade union for the fans and not simply a fund raising cheerleading organisation which some people want it to be.

I still support this Board but there is a fight coming about what terms all all future monies from FSS should be given to the club. That is the purpose of the 1st September FSS members' meeting which I will be at and where I intend to propose a method for future payment terms.

Harry, if Gary Oliver scores and Oliver’s Army from Elvis Costello isn’t blaring over the tannoy, 1, I’ll be raging and 2, the Ultras should be ashamed of themselves 😂.

They are mostly under 20 - Elvis Costello is an ancient granddad to them. Some EDM would be better (not that I want to expand this debate which I don't really care about)?

  3. I found that disappointing and boring. I cannot believe that will be the starting line up on Tuesday. Allan cannot be a sole up front striker. After we scored the first goal I thought we would kick on but McIvor disappeared after that and seemed to just jog everywhere. Agyeman is good but needs to release the ball earlier - when they doubled up on him, he couldn't get past. Morrison needs to get back to form - he did nothing. And their second goal reminded me of most goals we lost last year - player goes past 3 along the 12 yard line and then hits a good one. Only plus today was the other results in the League Cup and surely Spartans will be exhausted on Tuesday after that today?

Stuff that just seems irrelevant and tweeting for tweeting sake. Of course there will be some relevance to fans of those clubs but some of it is Mickey Mouse stuff.

FSS HAS JUST JOINED THREADS BTW. Personal opinion - hopefully Musk will ruin twitter and it will be replaced (not that Zuck is much better).

The board should have an input with what ideas are acceptable before they’re put to vote but ultimately this should be membership led.

Members can’t say how the club use the money but on this particular 5% fund it can’t be driven by the board either IMO. The board can plan what they want with the other 95%. Ultimately anything put forward should be for the betterment of the club and therefore of little objection to anyone.

Not quite true - the club signed a contract with FSS to recognise it as the official supporters' organisation and to give the 2 Directors places to the supporters in turn (up until then they were not offical) the FSS agreed for all monies raised to go to the club. The form that giving will take is to be ironed out but the spirit of the deal is that the money has to go to the club first.

With regards to the tifos display (which I think the Dunfermline young team do an excellent job of) our one against Ayr was absolutely class. I watched the game on the tv and it looked amazing ( can only imagine it was 100 times better in person. Could some of the money from the FSS maybe be put into helping the young team organise more Tifo displays? For the record I still think the best option for money from the FSS is to buy more shares but just a small donation once in a while to organise a tifo display could be an excellent use of money imo.

As currently stands this would probably need agreement at a member's meeting for FSS money to be spent in this way - and some would object. Also FSS has an agreement with the club that all monies raised after the loan repayment will come to the club (although the exact details of how are still being worked out now that all shares have been bought).

I don’t agree. How can a manager who is completely off track of his remit be the best option? That sounded like “we can’t afford to sack him so we’ll keep him”.

Do you really think the Board should publicly say they will sack someone if they fail to perform while that person is in post? Would that happen in any other organisation? Let's be realistic about how open any organisation can be. The club is remarkably transparent but somethings have to be kept confidential.

(Edit - I was replying to an earlier post not Tea and Biscuits - sorry)

New shares can be created though, which I think they should be if FSS or Patrons wish to invest money in post the last share being sold.

FSS is holding a meeting of members on 1 Sept at the club where we will discuss how the future funds from our members should be given to the club. One option is to agree to the issuing of new shares. There are also other options too. Currently there are only 50,000 shares left in the club to buy which were ring-fenced for FSS - however there is some debate if FSS should buy them now (there is money to do that) or let the club sell them elsewhere. A decision is yet to be made on that as there are arguments for both.

its funny how fitness can show if different situations. Some guys just can't prove fitness running in straight lines but can cover every blade of grass on a pitch over 90 minutes when they have a particular role to fill.

I remember back in the days when I ran for a hobby I could do 10km no problem but play football then I was out of breath after every short sprint. These are different cardio skills.

Club needs outside investment to supplement the fans and patrons. Getting the right person/people is the challenge.

Football in Scotland (and elsewhere) needs to stop this reliance on sugar daddy owners. It is corrosive and the clubs end up just being playthings for rich egos.

We are lucky to be in control of our own club - and yes it will be difficult but having someone from outside come in is a foolish idea only worth considering when all else has failed.

How old is Carroll?  I remember when he got on for ten mins last year vs Edinburgh City(I think) there were a lot of glowing reports.  I had hoped we'd see more of him in games where we were far enough ahead score wise to stick him on but obviously we didn't have many of those situations!

Gets into that age argument of if you are good enough you should play so will be interesting to see if he does get some game time this season - hope so!

Young - he was the first of the under 16s to graduate into a modern apprenticeship at the club - and without going into detail he has had a number of difficult personal issues to deal with. He looked like they have bulked his upper body up a bit since last season. I bet he is starting soon into the new season.

  12. The two youngsters made the difference once on - amazing how you can play if you are motivated. Small park made the crosses go out as often as land in a danger area. Miller looked ok at times, Pearce (sp?) will be starting for us soon, one day he will be sold for a lot of money. A confident and skilful kid. We were mostly poor though. I'm tempted to suggest we missed Nesbitt (light blue paper and retire to a safe distance).

FFS Falkirk - learn to play direct as well as down the wings.

  13. Yes but they will still have to give an agreed fee to the central fund as far as I know. It may have been updated since and I've not noticed but I cannot find any reference online to any changes. Basically, like the Cup Semi finals, the money is pooled.

  14. In 2015 the SPFL changed the rules to have minimum pricing for the playoff games moreover the play-off income is now pooled in part to help the SPFL to help pay for parachute payments for relegated clubs from the top division. I believe unless there has been some change I missed since then that we have little say over the prices and we will not see any benefit from increased home gates.
