  1. No - no effect at all.. It is an unsecured loan and the only stipulation is that the Govt is to be updated on any changes to the governance of FSS.
  2. See above - you are right. one seat is to be filled. FSS is (presumably) currently discussing the timetable for that election.
  3. 5 (Actually only 4 as one of the FSS seats is empty)
  4. No I had a one to one meeting with a key member of the Board. He told me he would oppose my idea as it "was not in the interest of the club". He did not say why it was not in the best interest of the club.
  5. One point I agree with is that the monthly subs could be reduced to £5. It would certainly increase numbers, but I'm not sure the uptake would be substantial. This would most probably reduce the FSS monthly income substantially as members might well move to £5 a month and the new members joining not make up for that. No one can prove that one way or another but it is my strong feeling it would be retrograde.
  6. The elected members of the FSS are: Alan MacFarlane, Anna O’Donnell, Char Honey, Jim Millar, John Fleming, Kev Beattie, Scott Steel, Stuart Brown, Douglas Peters and Stuart Graudus (chair).
  7. Last week I resigned from the FSS committee. I absolutely remain in favour of FSS and encourage people to join and increase its influence. My resignation was because of a number of issues including the lack of enthusiasm on the FSS committee by some people to challenge the Board when there is a dispute. I was told by significant members on the committee that FSS should never try to bring an idea to the Board if there is no chance that the Board will support it. FSS is independent, and should be a trade union for the fans and not simply a fund raising cheerleading organisation which some people want it to be. I still support this Board but there is a fight coming about what terms all all future monies from FSS should be given to the club. That is the purpose of the 1st September FSS members' meeting which I will be at and where I intend to propose a method for future payment terms.
  8. I doubt it will be a sell out but Cove tickets are on sale already https://coverangersfc.com/tickets/
  9. A newsletter was written then had to be delayed as some info was out of date. Expect one later this week.
  10. They are mostly under 20 - Elvis Costello is an ancient granddad to them. Some EDM would be better (not that I want to expand this debate which I don't really care about)?
  11. TO WIN JUST ONCE WOULD BE ENOUGH by the Saw Doctors - would be a good song for most games.

  13. Am I the only person who misses Lewis's dulcet tones on the highlights? The new guys seem competent and I am not criticising but I do prefer Lewis's biased tone.
  14. I found that disappointing and boring. I cannot believe that will be the starting line up on Tuesday. Allan cannot be a sole up front striker. After we scored the first goal I thought we would kick on but McIvor disappeared after that and seemed to just jog everywhere. Agyeman is good but needs to release the ball earlier - when they doubled up on him, he couldn't get past. Morrison needs to get back to form - he did nothing. And their second goal reminded me of most goals we lost last year - player goes past 3 along the 12 yard line and then hits a good one. Only plus today was the other results in the League Cup and surely Spartans will be exhausted on Tuesday after that today?
  15. FSS HAS JUST JOINED THREADS BTW. Personal opinion - hopefully Musk will ruin twitter and it will be replaced (not that Zuck is much better).
  16. Not quite true - the club signed a contract with FSS to recognise it as the official supporters' organisation and to give the 2 Directors places to the supporters in turn (up until then they were not offical) the FSS agreed for all monies raised to go to the club. The form that giving will take is to be ironed out but the spirit of the deal is that the money has to go to the club first.
  17. As currently stands this would probably need agreement at a member's meeting for FSS money to be spent in this way - and some would object. Also FSS has an agreement with the club that all monies raised after the loan repayment will come to the club (although the exact details of how are still being worked out now that all shares have been bought).
  18. Do you really think the Board should publicly say they will sack someone if they fail to perform while that person is in post? Would that happen in any other organisation? Let's be realistic about how open any organisation can be. The club is remarkably transparent but somethings have to be kept confidential. (Edit - I was replying to an earlier post not Tea and Biscuits - sorry)
  19. FSS is holding a meeting of members on 1 Sept at the club where we will discuss how the future funds from our members should be given to the club. One option is to agree to the issuing of new shares. There are also other options too. Currently there are only 50,000 shares left in the club to buy which were ring-fenced for FSS - however there is some debate if FSS should buy them now (there is money to do that) or let the club sell them elsewhere. A decision is yet to be made on that as there are arguments for both.
  20. I remember back in the days when I ran for a hobby I could do 10km no problem but play football then I was out of breath after every short sprint. These are different cardio skills.
  21. Football in Scotland (and elsewhere) needs to stop this reliance on sugar daddy owners. It is corrosive and the clubs end up just being playthings for rich egos. We are lucky to be in control of our own club - and yes it will be difficult but having someone from outside come in is a foolish idea only worth considering when all else has failed.
  22. Young - he was the first of the under 16s to graduate into a modern apprenticeship at the club - and without going into detail he has had a number of difficult personal issues to deal with. He looked like they have bulked his upper body up a bit since last season. I bet he is starting soon into the new season.
  23. The two youngsters made the difference once on - amazing how you can play if you are motivated. Small park made the crosses go out as often as land in a danger area. Miller looked ok at times, Pearce (sp?) will be starting for us soon, one day he will be sold for a lot of money. A confident and skilful kid. We were mostly poor though. I'm tempted to suggest we missed Nesbitt (light blue paper and retire to a safe distance). FFS Falkirk - learn to play direct as well as down the wings.
  24. HA. ONE OF THE FEW GAMES I WOULD BE ABLE TO DRINK AT!
