  1. I looked for Kelty tickets the other day and couldn't find them. Please do enlighten me https://app.fanbaseclub.com/Fan/Tickets/SelectType?fixtureId=1791
  2. Beating Dundee would be massive (if difficult) but no-one has mentioned it yet but regular home gates of near 4,000 mean around there are 1600 walk ins at between £11 and £18 (so let's say £14) that is around £22,000 per game plus food income. That is around £400,000 a year. It is not enough to cover the projected losses but it is a huge improvement and helps any short term issues of cashflow. Be great if we could get it over 4,000 regularly.
  3. Apparently there is no electricity point that they can access. I don't usually think that grounds are a reason to stop clubs from being promoted but this is far from fit for purpose. I am going but I expect to need binoculars to watch the game.
  4. I wonder if it is an insurance issue. If he dies in a match (obviously I hope not) then it may be a problem for any club. I have no idea if he can have a contract covering a club's liability but is that club then looking after him correctly?
  5. You can criticise anyone you want and that is fine - but there are people on here with several accounts (as was shown only last week) who are trying to stir things up. This Board will make mistakes - probably in hindsight Griffiths was one - and will be criticised for them but making new accounts because your old one was exposed seems to me shady. Why I would rather we all posted under our real names.
  6. So cynical. Anyway have a nice day whoeveryouare.....
  7. To the best of my knowledge he is back at Rangers just now and will return to us once the injury has healed.
  8. NO - I am happy to tell you who I am if you wish, if you look at my posts I have mostly put up information about FSS with the odd personal view about the football thrown in. If the new Board get it wrong then I will happily criticise them. And it is obvious who most people on here are - I could identify at least 7 people I know personally here just from their obsessions. If I had my way I would stop all anonymity on the internet - it only causes toxicity when people don't have to be identified with the things they write.
  9. Wonder who this is - a new account made especially to criticise the current board? No agenda here I guess. /s
  10. I wouldn't like to be Secret Santa for some of you moaning gits on here!
  11. He apparently drinks energy drinks all the time, the physios tried to get him to stop but Rennie lacked authority to make him and shrugged his shoulders. Bulking up is not a great idea for a winger who (used to) live off his pace. I hope McGlynn gets him to return to form, he used to be the only player we had who could take the ball and get us up field.
  12. Surely its like all betting, the odds are based on the amount of money staked on each team?
  13. Cove just transfer listed Rory McAllister. Might we dream?
  14. Final mention of last night but McGlynn was saying how important it was to take an interest in player's lives and he mentioned McKay and his wife having a baby as an example of how home life is important and the club needs to be reactive to that.
  15. There are some technical issues with the website just now which are delaying things like the fixtures lists being up. And content is not written by the sponsors.
  16. Oh and they were full of praise for the youngsters they have signed up from the development squad but said they are unlikely to play until we are 3 or 4 goals up and they can risk them on the park. McGlynn thought Pearse Carroll was a real find and can carry a ball with huge confidence for a young man.
  17. Donaldson was back training with the team in the warm up at Bonnyrigg - and will resume training today. Might be available for Saturday. McKay I don't know.,
  18. A couple of things not mentioned here from last night's meeting that are fine for public airing. Kennedy injured himself in the Aberdeen game and it was after that the hernia diagnosis was made - so when he was signed the injury was not apparent. Henderson's hamstring was a second degree tear so we can expect 3 to 6 weeks recovery. The management team felt that Alegria was the type of player who could run beyond the opposition backline - which is not Oliver's game - and is fast, they had asked the Thistle manager about him and were told it was a matter of confidence, if he scores then they think he will go on to score more but Rangers have asked for him to be given time to heal his foot before playing. The managerial masterclass before the questions was fascinating - an hour of McGlynn showing how they analyse the opposition and prepare our team to face up to our opponents, including pretty dynamic formations and movement when we have the ball. It was bloody impressive - if you have never played professional football then I think you would have learned a lot from that hour. He also spoke of how important man management was to him and to get the best out of players - including taking an interest in the player's home lives. It smacked of professionalism and insight and it made me much more optimistic for this year. I think we have the right manager at last.
  19. Boss, Boss - the plane. From Colombia. A striker. Now shut up about the bloody website - the club knows it needs to be updated more regularly and are trying to fix it.
  20. The meeting holds 100 - and 75 tickets gone so far so if you want to attend and are a member of FSS then perhaps check the link in the new mailing for a free ticket.
  21. Just announced: FSS FANS' DIRECTOR APPOINTED The FSS nomination window closed on Friday 16 July, as advertised in recent communications with FSS members. Only one member, the current incumbent Nigel Serafini, stepped forward. There is therefore no need for an election so we have today nominated Nigel to continue his role as FSS fans’ director for a term of two years. Nigel said, “Being a director of the club I love is an honour, as well as a weighty responsibility. I welcome the opportunity to help rebuild the club, accelerate fan ownership and involvement, and turn Falkirk FC into a success story once again.” As FSS membership approaches 500 and the shareholding increases, I ask all Bairns to help push up the numbers which is crucial to all these objectives.” We can rebuild our club together. There’s still a mountain to climb and there’ll be some hairy moments along the way. But with everyone’s enthusiasm, energy and effort, we can do it together.” The FSS co-chairs said, “We welcome the continuity Nigel brings to the role. We know being a Falkirk director is a big job as the club fights to regain its Championship status. An important task for Nigel, alongside his colleague Doug Moodie, will be to continue to establish the fans’ director concept at Falkirk, while helping increase FSS membership, investment and shareholding.” Nigel has supported Falkirk since 1969 and played football at junior level. He is currently CEO of Lothian Buses. Nigel joined the club board in December 2021, appointed as an interim FSS director until we held an electoral process.
  22. And they usually allow you to take dogs - but they've suspended that for the Hibs and Falkirk games (boo).
  23. There's a tiny car park but it will be full with home cars/officials. You will be OK parking pretty much anywhere in the town - its not that big and it's a t night so I guess no restrictions apart from double yellows. There's a pub right next to the ground - I've never been in it so can't say - the smoking locals when I pass on the way back from the Falkirk Stadium look very "Bonnyrigg" so take that to mean what you want.
  24. What really skewed Scottish football is teams like Arbroath getting Anderson money that far exceeded their annual turnover and full time teams like us and Partick getting far less because of the decision to allocate it on league positions rather than turnover. This will take several years to work its way out of the system and one reason Arbroath for instance are playing way above their usual level.
