  1. To be a little cynical, I believe part of Livi fans desire for him to do well is not fully founded in him being that good, it is more that he has been our only real youth prospect for the past 4 years or so. Looking forward to having a flow of youth players coming through that we can get behind.
  2. As I posted before, I think both spells that Hamilton was in the and around the first team were our worst periods since promotion - not because of Hamilton, I should add. I don't think he is a starting striker this year, but do believe in the latter part of the season we became far more dynamic going forward and weren't relying on counter-attacking goals and set pieces. We saw far more chance created and goals scored through 'team-goals'. Build up play with overlapping down the wings was particularly effective and I think Hamilton is far more suited now to that playing style than he was with how we played previously. He has an eye for goal there is no doubt and if we are able to pick him out in the box as appose to playing through balls to him then he can definitely make a mark this year.
  3. Pre-season Friendly with Greenock Morton at the Macaroni - 2nd July
  4. The variety of players getting awards show how strong a season this was. Don't recall it being so varied in the past.
  5. I know his name hasn't been caught up in the rumour mill but I'd be really surprised if we don't see some interest in Nicky Devlin this year and with a year on his contract it would put Davie in a tricky position. He seems like someone who is loving his time at the club but it would be great to get him tied down in the next couple of weeks. He may be worth keeping on regardless and leaving on a bosman as he is such an asset but would like the club to cash in on him if he another club (and larger wage cheque) comes calling.
  6. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/61260955 Is this article deliberately trying to stoke up some kind of weird division about Ivan's debut? I checked TransferMarkt and I could even find a recording of a single Russian player playing in England this season and can't think of any in Scotland. (I've never used the Advanced Filter so perhaps I did it wrong) If I am correct this would make Ivan's debut, not only the first Russian appearance across the leagues since the Ukrainian invasion, but the first of the season regardless of the war. Its not like there are hordes of English clubs holding back Russian signings from entering the pitch due to the invasion. Yet, it is written as if Livi are taking a step into the unknown and breaking this unspoken rule that all Russian individuals should not be allowed to play unless they publicly announce 'death to Putin, freedom to Ukraine'.
  7. Not all that surprising! Good opportunity to see what the Russian is made of.
  8. I agree that in the past he has not fitted in to our system that well but do feel that we have evolved over the past year to playing a different style, one that actually creates plenty of chances and one I think he could thrive in. Need to remember that early this season when he was still at the club the team weren't creating chances at all. 3 goals in the first 8 games before tripling it over the next 2 game weeks against a desperately poor Saints side and the thriller up in Dingwall. I'd love to see both Hamilton and Nouble play, sucking in defenders over to the right-wing with there physicality and really open up the left-wing to overload and find goals from.
  9. Just seeing Jack Hamilton has the best Goal per 90 in the Championship, ahead of the likes of Lafferty etc. If Arbroath (fingers crossed) get promoted the best option would be to punt him back to them for a year of first team premiership football to really see if he can make it in the top tier. I do think with how we play now Hamilton would work for us as he has a real eye for goal and if we could see him progress like Anderson has with his all round game then he could be a brilliant asset going forward.
  10. Forrest linked with Hearts now. At least you can accept him moving upward rather than sideways like the Saints move would have been. I don't see him staying unless we get top 6 and even then it would be unlikely
  11. 2nd best NPG per minute and highest shot percentage that are goals
  12. Hopefully Mr Associate can find a Morecambe message board to bombard wi his pish and gee us peace
  13. 41 pts is the average number of pts to secure top 6 since the 2014-15 (tables available in google used as data source). I suspect that we may need 43/44 pts this year. 18pts available in the games remaining. We can afford to drop points off of Celtic but realistically need to take points off the rest. Lets do a FM style title (European) run in diagram. First us. (Apologise if the format comes out funny, the preview is showing this looks readable but probably only on a computer) -------------- Bold - Top 3 Underline - Competitor Top 6 Normal - Bottom 3 --------------- Livingston (9th) P27 Pts 31 -------------------------- Dundee (12th) Away Dundee Utd (5th) Home Celtic (1st) Home Hearts (3rd) Away St Johnstone (11th) Away Motherwell (6th) Home Avg Pos: 6.33 -------------------------- Hibs (4th) P27 Pts 34 Dundee U (5th) P27 Pts 34 Motherwell (6th) P27 Pts 34 St Mirren (7th) P26 Pts 33 Aberdeen (8th) P27 Pts 31 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dundee (12th) Away Celtic (1st) Home Aberdeen (8th) Away Rangers (2nd) Away Hearts (3rd) Home Dundee Utd (5th) Home Dundee (12th) Away Livingston (9th) Away Ross County (10th) Home Celtic (1st) Away Hearts (3rd) Away St Johnstone (11th) Home Hearts (3rd) Home Dundee (12th) Home Ross County (10th) Away Rangers (2nd) Away Aberdeen (8th) Away St Mirren (7th) Away St Johnstone (11th) Away Dundee Utd (5th) Home Hibs (4th) Home Dundee Utd (5th) Home Hibs (4th) Away St Mirren (7th) Home Motherwell (6th) Away Dundee (12th) Away Hearts (3rd) Away Dundee (12th) Home Livingston (9th) Away Rangers (2nd) Home Ross County (10th) Home Avg Pos: 6.66 Avg Pos: 7.16 Avg Pos: 8.5 Avg Pos: 5.57 Avg Pos: 6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hibs - Depends on the Dundee and St Johnstone results. If they win those both they will be in for a couple of crunch ties in the 3rd and penultimate game with hopes that they have secured that top 6 spot before a crunch match against Hearts Dundee Utd - They have a favourable average position but St Mirren and Livi both are in a good run of form and they only play Dundee as the easy game although they will be fighting to stay in the league Motherwell - If they can get a run together in the middle against the bottom three teams then come the final day they may be in a good place. But their form is sketchy at the minute St Mirren - Goodwin gone and the top 3 to play over the next 7 games looks like a tough ask. win the game in hand on Wednesday will make the run in look a lot prettier for the buddies Aberdeen - Have the highest average position to play with 6 remaining form is terrible and can't see them doing it. Only saving grace is that if they do get it together they have 2 easier games to finish in theory Livingston - We need to turn winning positions into 3pts. We would be leading the way here if we didn't drop 5pts in the previous 4 matches. 2 wins in the opening 2 are vital before a crunch tie against Motherwell.
  14. Perhaps Gerrard knew that if he was ever going to get an education in hard work it was at the hands of Davie Martindale
  15. A few points: - Carson is not employed by the club. His role, as a journalist, is to report on the match and club events in an non-biased manner. I don't think he was incorrect to tweet that. Chuck has not been up-to-speed in any of his games. Getting hooked after 7 mins would solicit such a tweet. - Marv's reaction, although well-intentioned, is reactionary and wrong. I want Callum to report honestly. He shouldn't be beholden to the management team as in the long term this would result in him 'keeping the club happy'. We do not want Callum to feel like he needs to keep management happy to do his job as ultimately, a good relationship allows him to get interviews etc., but this can't be dependent on the reporting they do or do not agree on. We don't want a Rangers like scenario of only 'buddy buddy journalists' operating at the club. (I am not saying we are anything close to the CCP style hold the Rangers have over the media room). - We should all be wary of how we criticise players - of course - but to think that the frustration toward the boy is racially motivated, or is worse due to outright racism, doesn't fly with me. Nothing about the criticism has been any worse than previous frustrations with players. I can't think of any time in the history of the club were we have any racial hatred towards our own, or opposition players. I would hope we as a club and supporters would call that out if we did see it.
  16. Chuck one-on-one with Stevie fucking May to have a clear shot on goal and he lazily dangles his leg towards the ball as May steamrollers in. Thought this boy was meant to be firing them in in the U23s down south. Forrest brilliant. Otherwise, too many times we tried to swing them in and it just hit the first man.
  17. After yesterday’s win sets up a potential blockbuster run over the next few games. Where do you see us by the end of the season. I feel this is the most cohesive squad we have had yet and although it was a slow start I think we can rally and chase down Motherwell and those above.
  18. Makes sense he wouldn’t want to jump over to the Saints at the moment. You only need to see the scenes at Kelty to realise that the place is slightly toxic and if he is wanting to make that next step in his career away from Livi, Saints are not the club to go for at this moment in time.
  19. I'd be surprised if we got anything close to £1m for him. I'd say 300k-500k potentially, with League 1 in England likely to be his level. Slap a tasty 10% sell-on and hope for the best. Max's form is too up and down for me - granted he has played well after the early season mistakes. I would be taking any deal we get, as I always feel there is a bad run of form just around the corner with him. The boy we have brought in seems to have a decent history behind him and could be an astute signing.
  20. It was a smart deal. We get him for next to nothing and loan him back so that we could engage in contract talks before others were able to. QoTS get a percentage of our percentage as any money gained from our sell on is considered part of the original transfer contract. I think they got about a 10% cut last time, perhaps maybe even 20%. A £10m sale would give us £1m (at a minimum) and then we would give QoTS £200k of that (assuming 20%). £800k is still a massive sum for us.
  21. Livingston are the club of 'being an arse when they were younger but sound now' (except Griffiths). I wouldn't jump the gun on someone based on how they were when they were 18/19. You'd reckon consider QPR are chasing Premiership promotion and the money that would bring in they would be looking around the £15m mark, and if Newcastle are serious add another 0 to that
  22. https://www.teamtalk.com/queens-park-rangers/lyndon-dykes-transfer-newcastle-burnley-crystal-palace-norwich-bournemouth-rangers-exclusive Rumours that Dykes is being chased up, unsurprisingly this January. Anyone know what our cut of the deal will be, providing it happens?
