Ashby starting in West Ham’s Conference League Qualifier tonight. Looks like 50/50 first team and reserves.

We're absolutely spunking out quality right backs now

We need to spunk out a couple of quality forwards

Except it was Tuchel who said in the press last season he wanted Gilmour to stay and play in the first team.

Gilmour defied him, and pushed for first team football.

And failed at Norwich and now no one wants him

Maybe you should read the thread again (and ideally never post on it again).

I gave plenty of context to his loan spell Vs other Chelsea midfielders or comparing him with the likes of Jorginho, Kante at the same age.

He is far above many current world class midfielders at the same age, he was far ahead of other Chelsea loan midfielders at the same age.

An underwhelming loan spell at Norwich (he played regularly but they were a dreadful doomed team) won't drastically change his career, it didn't harm the many other top players who have had poor loan spells or were third division at that age.

Your hatred of him is demonstrably personal, and it's pretty concerning. Even a season later it's still the same, very worrying. I hope you can get the help you need before you harm someone.

The reality is that the current Chelsea manager doesn’t rate him

I thought Ange Postecoglu made a good point in his press conference which is relevant to this discussion about Arsenal, Tierney and Zinchenko when he said he wanted to make his team stronger as a collective with respect to recruitment so that on a week to week basis his players weren't being overburdened physically. When asked about Stephen Welsh he then went on to say this:

So yeah, I think it's about the squad and horses for courses rather than a one player being the #1 over another player for the whole season. If anything it will reduce the risk of injury for Tierney and therefore increase the odds he will be available for Scotland.

Yeah, totally agree, it’s a squad game and this might actually help Scotland

Who’s saying that the OF being allowed to do what they want, when it breaks all the stadium and club rules means I think Saints fans should be allowed to do similar? Clearly, that is not what I’m saying at all. Pretty much goes without saying that my point is the police and stewards will jump on St Mirren, Livvy, Kilmarnock, Motherwell or Melchester Rovers fans in our stadium who act out of order, but they allow OF fans to crack on. It’s mob rule. You’ll know that’s what I meant though, and I’ve just wasted two minutes of my time typing the bleedin’ obvious. Hey ho.

You’ve just basically repeated the post I replied to originally. I refer you to my previous answer. Hey ho.

Torfason beat me to it. I expect the police, stewards, and the club, to treat everyone in the stadium the same. St Mirren fans, Arbroath fans, Livingston fans, whoever. They don’t though. They haven’t for year after year. I distinctly remember someone on here saying that the police attitude to visiting ‘Old Firm’ fans is just to get them in and out again as quickly as possible. Turn a blind eye, don’t rile them, just get them to fcuk out of their policing patch.

Just as a very simple and easy example. For years, the entire away stand full of visiting ‘OF’ fans stood up throughout the 90 mins. We generally sit in the West Stand anyway, but I witnessed on more than one instance, stewards getting up and moving towards a few Saints fans who had stood up following an on-field incident, and hadn’t yet sat down as quickly as the yellow jacketed stewards wanted. The stewards were waving their arms in a ‘sit down, sit down’ motion. The fans shouted back and pointed at 2,000 in the away stand. Perfectly valid point.

There’s one set of rules for visiting OF fans, and another for everyone else. Can you deny it?

The fact that Old Firm fans are allowed to behave like arseholes is no reason why Saints fans should

Pointing to the bad behaviour of Old Firm as justification for your own bad behaviour is pretty poor

Just let the Old Firm fans get on with it. It’s to the detriment of their own fellow supporters. I know Old Firm who have been to away games but won’t go again because of the behaviour of their fellow fans. I know an Old Firm fan whose has taken along his older father to away games but just won’t do it again cos his father isn’t able to stand and watch games. Old Firm fans with young kids can’t go either because of this. Plus, in general, they behave disgustingly.

Its good that the Police don’t intervene. Why should they. Let the OF fans ruin it for their fellow fans.

  7. On the bench tonight for Arsenal after coming back from injury, came on as a late sub.

But his replacement, Zinchenko had a great debut with the assist for the first goal.

Looks like Tierney faces some tough competition and will need to stay fit.

Three of the most tedious terms on this forum. Synonyms for "I'm incapable of entertaining an alternative point of view"

I’m baffled by this bizarre post

I don't think Henry Clay Work wrote it as a sectarian song. The tune was hijacked by bigots, but because something is appropriated by groups with closed minds it shouldn't preclude the use of that item, in this case a song, by more reasonable people.

The poppy is a good example of this.

Are Killie fans singing the song because they liked the Harry Clay original or cos they are apeing the sectarian version?

    That’s a rhetorical question btw 😉
