One thing that's sticks with me re MacPherson. He loses possession a lot from our throw ins or at very least always ends up under being under heavy pressure because of the way he looks to play out from it. While this isn't based on doing some factual analysis but he never seems to just knocks it first time back to the thrower. He just seems to invite pressure by taking a touch and sort of flicking it in front of himself to run onto. I sometimes wonder with guys like him whether there's too much focus on the wrong/flashy things and there's little focus or not enough anyway on being able to walk before you can run. I can just see him in training practicing things like his 60+ yard pin point passes and feeling great about it. When in realty most of the time in game he's playing under pressure with an opponent closing him down swiftly so needs to consistently be able to just keep it simple, play that simple pass that allows the team to retain possession and work through the press from the other team. I know all a bit speculative but just often watch him and think why the f**k did he do that? Just feels like there's no plan on how they'll handle being pressed either. Just seems to result in wrong decisions and mostly aimless punts in the vague direction of a centre forward.

Sprangler started quite well when he first signed but do wonder now if that was him standing out in an extremely poor side but has really offered nothing in about 9+ months. He knows Levein doesn't fancy him and it's got into head a bit as well I reckon. His dive yesterday in midfield summed his recent performances up. He's not the only one though ---- I hope they're made to rewatch that 90 minutes today.

"Proper football guys" like Levein and Davidson are ruining my only hobby. Inability to produce a team that give you ANY reason to get behind. He talked the talk last week about how the fans just want a team with a bit of fight and commitment etc. That certainly wasn't it. The Brechin performance was miles off what was required as well. I do not want to go to watch Saints anymore. I'd rather not bother. We'll get another dull miserable interview from Levein about how he expects better but we dont see it. 6 wins this calendar year in competitive games is simply not good enough. 2 of those were Brechin and Morton. Those results include failing to beat Livi on two occasions as well as a defeat to Airdrie.

The starting 11 set the tone for that result. Management not taking them seriously. Starting Smith, Mcpake and Stevens shows he thought we'd win without too much trouble. The players effort and commitment represented that as well.

Agreed. People seem to have forgotten the last 6 months because of that win at Motherwell.

Nothing has improved from last season. We're are as tentative, disorganised and most importantly as poor as we were last season. All that is required to beat us is a bit of effort.

Caddis did actually have a bit of ability. I agree. Just think there was a real lack of belief, confidence and as you say the fire within him to be a professional football. Met him a couple of times at events and just seemed very flat.

He's the worst of the bunch too. Potentially paid a fee for him as well?! That performance in the first 45 is just honestly miles off what's required. That team doesn't win many games next season playing like that. Leveins made a few decent signings but for every Sidibeh there's 2 terrible signings. Everyone raving about Essels but do think he's got a long way to go to play regularly next season. He's only 18 I know. Midfield completely out battled and out played as well. What's Stevens done to deserve the fan clamour for him to get a chance as well? really not seeing it. If he wasn't a Saints player and was an Alloa player who scored a few goals last season people would be raging if we signed him. He's miles off it as well. Levein's tactic has a lot to be desired as well. Constant aimless direct balls up the park to an isolated forward with the nearest teammate 35 yards away.

Are you needing a link-up, dropping deep, drift out wide left kind of centre forward? I imagine it'd be a loan. Unless Raith were to offer him a 2 year deal or something can't see him walking away from the wage without something to tempt him like a 2 year deal.

I Like it! I'd encourage the same, pack it out but I also can't sensibly encourage anyone to pay £27 on a Monday night. Also, can I just say. f**k you sky sports with your Monday night pish also.

Any coincidence with Esson being "Interim" and the manager looking to bring in an experienced GK? Could they also end up being doubling up as the goalkeeping coach... Saints have had success with that a couple of times in the past.

Admittedly I don't know much about the Grieve situation. Did always have a slight suspicion the criticism of him was a bit too far and potentially missing two sides of the issue but as I say, I don't know too much about the situation. Looking back at the situation though I do think now what was the point in bringing in a recruitment guy whoever they are, especially one that heavily leans into data if you're going to ignore nearly everything they say and sign guys like Crawford, Conway, Considine, Murphy and co? You don't need a data type person to identify players like that seems just all a complete waste of everyone's time
