  1. How reliable is that site? Although as I write that I immediately think "is there such a thing a reliable journalist"
  2. Seeing quite a few complaining about the price increase. Were fans genuinely expecting there not to be one? People complaining about it being a 12% increase. If you use that single figure in isolation it may seem bad but hasn't the prices been frozen, in the East Stand anyway for something like 5+ years? Obviously you don't want the price to increase but the reality is Saints are losing over a million pound a year, year after year with costs increasing. The same fans can't then continually expect and call for "better signings", "the stadium repaired", "a better pitch" and all the other things fans have been calling for while also expecting to pay the same season ticket prices as they were a number of years ago. The cost of living issue is without question a complete shit show but there's not much Saints can do about that.
  3. No idea if the clause being quoted is true. Wouldn't be shocked if there is one though. Clause or no clause I doubt he'll be here beyond the summer. It would be daft of Saints to allow him to leave for nothing next summer too. If he wants to go and you can get 300k... Bye bye. 300k providing they can get a goalkeeper on a free transfer if Mitov is sold mow gives the manager the opportunity to start building the squad asap and avoids the "need to wait for that takeover".
  4. From his perspective it makes complete sense. Does he stay around in the hope of a better squad around him and risk another relegation season. If it is another poor season for the club he risks missing the best chance of a big move and for what? Fairly simple choice for him really.
  5. Where their career was on a seemingly downward trajectory but potentially hungry with something to prove? Loads that went on to do well. From the top of my head, loads. MoH, Kennedy, Vine, Cregg, Anderson, Fraser Wright. Arguably Morris as well - he wasn't exactly flying when we signed him Probably the majority of our youth successes in the last 10ish years have also been released by other clubs due to "not being good enough" and us picking them up at 17-18 as well. We've signed Sidibeh from the Timbuktu leagues recently as well. I don't know whether or not he's good enough but I do imagine a lot of the Saints fans turning their noses up at him have seen as much of him as I have - nearly zero.
  6. Yeah there was an article in the local press re him training with us a month or so ago. Training with us to keep up the full time fitness. Levein and Co seem very keen on 3-5-2 kind of shape so there's a good chance he'd be used as a left wing back. We do lack pace and ability out there. We've basically had a proper left back playing wing back out there most of the season and they struggled. He might step up and do well... Good luck to him I guess. We've signed guys like him before.
  7. I presume the signing mentioned as being at the County game was indeed Mcpake. I don't know much about him at all so can't possibly judge his ability. A younger player though who's dropped down a number of levels with a point to prove. A familiar signing model in the past. Of course time will tell whether he's up to it. The fact we've been linked with no one else incoming does give me the fear we're just in a holding pattern. Levein though will surely be saying that we can't just sit on our hands and wait a few weeks.
  8. Hate the fact we missed the big moments of the season but at least these guys made what was frankly a fucking terrible period for many much more positive than it otherwise would have been. They managed to make many a grown adult cry sitting in their living rooms Imagine watching a season like last from a £350 stream on top of queueing outside the shop and being unable to leave your house. We'd have no fans left
  9. Certainly has looked low on confidence & out his depth. He's young, might need time to adapt, first time playing at Premiership level while being also being surrounded in team mates low on confidence as well. I've been critical off his performances and have little positive to say but wasn't quite ready to completely write him off yet so a little surprised the manager might be?! Harsh!
  10. They've got it right this time round when long standing players leave
  11. Not sure how much Stockport will be paying but the average at that level is reportedly online anyway more then £4500 a week!! So hypothetically if he was getting below average at 3k a week..
  12. Probably depends on whether or not the sponsor changes.
  13. Gordon linked with Stockport County in the press tonight.
  14. I doubt that's what we'll see. If the current management team remain then I think it's fairly clear their philosophy is wing backs. If that's the case so be it. I'll just take signing then playing players that are comfortable in playing the position and shape etc. We do need a good number of signings as well. Gordon's interview indicates that we are indeed in a holding pattern waiting on the new owner too. Which is concerning.
  15. Another thing to add to what others have said. I want to see us going into the league cup looking a bit more like the top flight side. We turned up to the lower league sides like we were also a lower league side. Throwing in young lads because we had about 13 players etc. More organised on the pitch and playing with a bit more purpose. It was all so passive.
  16. Noticed Halliday was left out by Motherwell on Sunday. My immediate thought was... He could have been left out because it was an obvious conflict to be playing against a team he just signed for. He was playing on Wednesday so he couldn't have been at McDiarmid at the same time so it likely isn't him. Yet.
  17. Could potentially have European sides showing an interest. Depends what kind of move he'd be open to but as an random example I imagine some of the bigger Czech sides wouldn't think twice about spending 500k+. I can't see it being silly money we'd get though.
  18. It's probably been said already but yet again, Mitov. When it really mattered yet again saving the penalty!! I notice he's on everyone's list as being here next season when discussing the team. I wouldn't be so sure he will be, unfortunately. If it's a decent fee though they could reinvest that into the squad.
  19. Well, That was a positive outcome in the end. The showed a bit of character and of course ability and got a bit of luck. That can't continue next season we know that. If it does... Unlikely to survive as surely there won't be another team as poor as Livi was this season! That also shouldn't be the minimum target either "scrape by". Personally would rather Levein and co go. After the Aberdeen & Hibs performances at McDiarmid I did defend them a bit as i thought/hoped that was the signs of their game plan working (we've not seen anything like that since). Hopefully though with another window they can build a team and prove us wrong. Ending the season on a moment like today while I don't want to celebrate scraping to achieve mediocrity, it was a good moment that gave us something to at least enjoy after all we've spent and put up with I was shitting myself towards the end (I'm on a forum postin, it's no surprise to anyone I take it seriously). The season ending on a positive note though allows the fans to look forward to now, the new owner - the potential positives and excitement of that on top of the inevitable football fan hopeful optimism of a new season (That very same hope that kills you). Right, names lads!! Who are we signing?!! Who do we want to sign?
  20. He was staying regardless, unfortunately. They were allowing him to agree contracts with potential signings even before today
  21. I'm not a fan but it pains me to say it. He's MILES better than Max.
  22. Thomson just chucks out alternative options to be edgey or something. Convinced I've never seen a Saints fan agree with him.
