For every Akinyemi there’s about 4 Gondohs. -

Could randomly select a club icon ala football manager and name it after them. My pal’s Liverpool season saw Anfield renamed the Alan Hansen arena. -

My dad sometimes sings “Nutz the squirrel paedophile. Nutz the squirrel: paedophile” after a few cans…But he says it “peedeophile”. My pal overheard this and asked me “Is Nutz only viewable in adobe reader or suhin?”. Shite patter on both fronts there. -

If we were definitely going to get two players of proven quality at this level then twist. But what’s the likelihood of Glendinning, Mathie and Bullen identifying 2 championship class players and being able to entice them to Ayr? They’re hopeless at recruitment. So I’d be appt to stick with one of the few, on balance, recruitment success stories. -

When he arrived, I couldn’t really place him anywhere. Any winger at that age has already lost their legs. Thought he’d be maybe be played in a kinda Moffat role. Cute wee passes and decent movement under pressure. But we don’t seem to play like that. A bit of a baffling signing. But what’s new about that. -

Wasn’t there but my pal said his highlight, aside from the goal, was seeing Bill McWilliams “pull some neo shit” to avoid getting scudded by the ball. Gutted to miss that. -

I should add, I was half cut when the above was written…anything beyond two paragraphs should indicate more than 6 cans have been tanned. So, sorry if I got bombastic haha. But I stick by the general vibe. We’ve been cack for years. -

We seem To be getting all existential over Raith. I agree we should. A few things need to be said re Raith and us. Raith seem to have a decent support. It’s surprising that they haven’t went up in the last few years really. At their lowest they hit our average. When they were in league 1 they were getting 3000…they’re now playing to their potential. Fair fucks to them. Good. We are, unfortunately, a no mark in Scottish football. We’ve won frig all of note since notes were taken. Attendances have been at mid 2000 for forever, which is howling. We’ve got no personality or identity. When I started going to games (97) we were a cup run team…but now we’re Just a team that occupies a space in a fixture list. Raith have a definite identity. Just great to watch…we are howling. Whilst there’s nothing intrinsic about why Ayr can’t t achieve what other mediocre teams achieve, I think Being perennially turgid doesn’t help. The vibe of mid table second tier oblivion puts off good players and managers. We register on no radars. None. that’s just something in the fitba ether. Ayr aren’t a prospect at all. We’re in the same basket as Morton, airdrie and every other bunch of Tod in the minds of most folk. we ultimately need a stack of cash to bust out of this funk. I hope the stand acts as a statement of intent. But again, massively pessimistic. We need something to spark this moribund club. This is about as far as my sanctimony takes me haha. So I’ll stop here. -

Even if we didn’t have to replace Murdoch and Dempsey, I still doubt that Bullen and Mathie would’ve brought in the quality necessary in the full back positions. Between them they are so poor at spotting a player. We’d have ended up with some guy who was tearing up the Isthmian league… -

Performances have been turgid for the entirety of Bullen’s time here. Not just the last few months. Mediocre, dreary pish week in week out. Even last season when Akinyemi was singlehandedly scudding teams we were still howling. All of it brought into sharper relief by the boosterism of Mathie and Bullen, practically telling us to eat shit and like it. The recruitment is shocking. Relying on no mark non entities from English Sunday leagues isn’t it. We can’t give this lot another transfer window to dig us deeper into the mire. Surely the board must see this. -

Again, I’d be charitable to Bullen if this was just a shite day at the office. But f**k me, it’s been drudgery since day one. -

Amartey is pish too. When he plays well, he’s direct and purposeful. But a lot of the time he does nada. Depressing when we were crying out for some English 7th tier player to come on. Reflects how piss poor recruitment is here. -

If I’m being charitable to Bullen I’d say that he’s playing the hand he’s dealt. Not got much on the bench to change things up when we’re playing pish. But I’m not. The guy seems to respond, and do what should be done, two months after the fact as if to spite folk. He’s a no mark. Get him tae. -

I wonder what their contract situation is like. Like are they lumbered with duds on two year deals that are stinking the place up and eating into wages? Our issues were clear to everybody. I wonder if we’ve been hamstrung by having so much dead weight (potentially) unlike Raith -

What’s Raiths secret this season? They seemed pretty run of the mill whenever I saw them last year. Looked a very good outfit tonight. -

Doubt its councils displacing responsibility onto others. More just reflecting the fact that there’s f**k all in the way of public funds to invest in decent services, and trying to get the maximum out of what little there is. In my experience, the amount of money up for grabs is usually minuscule and spread pretty thin. RCGF was £25m and available to every council and development vehicle to apply for, and that was one of the biggest pots of funding out there for this kinda thing. The competition for the funding is, as a result, pretty fierce. I’m guessing whatever the club are applying for will be along similar lines. But on the face of it they look to have a pretty reasonable claim that whatever it is they’re building will be impactful. It’s clearly needed in the area and it doesn’t sound like we’re asking for the world either. Hopefully it’s a scoosh. -

I used to manage regeneration capital grant fund applications for GCC. Think the fund they are putting in for sounded pretty similar to that. If it is then they’d usually be asked to provide some socially beneficial dimension and also outline what you can do with the new facilities that you couldn’t do before. Hopefully they can show this. They likely can tbf as Somerset is bang in between White City and Whitletts. -

Being charitable, I reckon he knows who is Adams replacement is (Shankland), but not who his dykes replacement is. But again, his thinking is clear as mud here. -
