Very late in posting this but I was at Gillette for the Lions game on the 9th of this month and saw a resounding victory thanks to the Pats’ third choice QB on his first NFL start.
The charter train from Boston now gets you to the stadium 90 minutes before kickoff which means there’s no rush at all when you get there (missed kickoff before because of the previous departure time), and they rolled out the retro logo and kit for the day which was brilliant

If you go to Langholm keep the soft bit of your nose away from their players, rumour has it one of them bit a Langlee striker at the weekend because they thought he dived for a penalty

Utter chaos at New Tinto
Chaos at Threave as well, three penalties for the home side and finished 10 v 8 🫢

That statement is akin to when petrol went back below £1.60 a litre; infinitely better than it ended up being recently, but still infinitely worse than it was a year ago

Was this the game where the manager said a penalty shouldn’t have been a penalty because the shot was probably off target?
His exact words were “I don’t know what the rule is…”, which to my mind means he shouldn’t comment on it. Embarrassing stuff

Dykes is exactly what we need: a big lump to run about and fritter the last few minutes away at the right end of the park

Don’t know how niche this question is but it’s been bugging me.
Does anyone else constantly see a guy called Jeremy Keller replying to every mortal news article asking a baity question so he can say “my BBC article is about Olympus Mons”, because I do and it’s driving me up the wall. What’s his ulterior motive, because all of his 2000-odd tweets are exactly the same

A historic announcement- Gala's Zander Murray is the first Scottish player to come out as gay while still playing.
Hopefully one day this will not be news, but in the mean time I am sure he will be an inspiration to people in the Scottish game, and we can move onwards further towards a type of football that is genuinely welcoming to everyone.
I am sure this was not an easy step to take, but fair play to the club as well for giving him a platform and a place to feel comfortable enough to do it.
In 2022 this shouldn’t be a landmark moment for Scottish football, but it really is. Between this gentleman and the two referees from a few months ago, I hope other men can take inspiration from their stories and be comfortable and, if they wish, open about who they are.
Sounds like he and his club have considered how to publish it with sensitivity and pride which is brilliant, and if it helps even one person then he’s a hero in my eyes.

That's Paul Hartley emptied already.
Who'd have thought that signing players from the Scottish lower leagues would be a terrible strategy?
Turns out appointing a manager based on his name being the club’s name backwards doesn’t always work

On a separate note Zander Murray has become the first player in the Scottish (male) senior leagues to come out as gay. What a fucking fantastic insipration. Game changer.
Cue the barrage of Twitter comments saying it’s not newsworthy, who cares etc. when it is, as you say, a pivotal moment.

I’m sure it isn’t this simple, and I know it isn’t *the* answer, but how many solar/wind farms could we build with the £130 billion being given to energy firms

I’m sure that this has been asked and answered at some point in the last 1,611 pages, but would a Scottish exit from the UK need a massive divorce bill equal to the UK’s debt pro rata?
At this point I think it’s the only reservation I have, and with the debt figure about to get even bigger with Truss using our pockets to fund energy firms, rather than said firms’ profits, it would be a sore wan

Whoever runs the Home Office account liked this tweet
Regardless of political affiliation it’s clear to see that Truss has inherited more of a poisoned chalice of a job than “Gretna 2008 manager”, and her having to appoint her pals to the big gigs will only make it worse for her. Think Sturgeon will be rubbing her hands together ahead of next Autumn.

None of the WOS Fourth Division games have assistants assigned on the SFA website so not sure which game you are referring to - Threave are in the bottom tier of the WOS so no reason to have ARs anyway.
It was a pre season game against someone like Whitehill Welfare, no friendlies are listed on the website for whatever reason so I can’t recall for sure the who or the when. Just remember someone saying that it may become the norm in the South (EDIT: highly doubt it), where they moved from, due to a chronic shortage of referees which saw three youth games not played this weekend

Both my pal and I swapped Dean Henderson in for Nick Pope this week, 12 points sitting festering on the bench man.
Haaland has certainly not disappointed as my captain though

Back at uni part time and only now finding out that I’m literally just above the threshold for a part time fee grant. Can’t wait to pull hundreds of pounds out of thin air during a cost of living crisis
Two and a half modules away from a plain BA in Management though, which I didn’t think would happen when I dropped out six years ago to take a full time job!

“Needs a podcast on to get to sleep” then dozes off thirty seconds into a really nippy 90 minute episode of Wine and Crime, but if I turn it down or pause it she wakes up and moans.
Breaks the toilet with a Friday night Chinese toalie then either doesn’t flush because she says there’s no point if she’s going back for round two in a few minutes, or if she does flush leaves the lid and bathroom door open so I get a lungful across the house.
Shouts “oh my god that’s terrible” at something on her phone then two seconds later tells me all about it in great detail even if I don’t bite and ask what it is.
Wears my socks to bed and gets them all bobbly.
(I promise I love her dearly and I am happy to be with her )
