Get McGinty to absolute f**k. Utterly clueless. -

Not sure who screwed up at the goal, but half assuming it was McGinty. Can’t deny the progress that we’ve made under Bullen, but the massive Achilles heel is our total inability to control the ball in the midfield. Our only real tactic is the early ball up to Dipo. I really hope that Bullen can evolve his thinking from the next transfer window onwards - he seems to value work rate above anything else in a player, which seems to explain why he persists with Ashford, despite his obvious limitations. Not a huge McKenzie fan, but if we’re just going to punt long balls, he would be our best option. I suppose Bryden is back involved again, but he is still very inexperienced. -

Still looks like a pretty strong Inverness team, but maybe their fans would disagree. -

Assume 95% of what you read on pie and bovril is bullshit. You won’t go far wrong. -

I’d honestly be surprised if anyone was willing to pay 250k+ for a championship striker, which is what would be required to pry him away. Even Shankland didn’t attract serious bids when he was at Ayr. -

McAllister down with cramp again after an hour?? Is he not training during the week or something? -

Are you facing the pitch/TV? We’ve been awful. -

No idea how we’re winning this. Bullen needs to change this at half time. -

Lots to like about this Ayr team, but our use of the ball is absolutely diabolical. No idea what Paul Smith is being asked to do. -

Always felt sorry for Robert Connor. Did his level best for the club at a time when we were basically reduced to paying mediocre juniors travelling expenses to help us make up a team. Probably deserves credit for keeping us in League 1. -

Yep, the Partick game was definitely all pretty young children. Hard to believe they were at the game by themselves so seems like a bit of parental supervision is required. -

I’ve seen Morton twice now and my gut feeling is that they don’t have a huge amount of quality in the attacking third. What they do have though is physicality and an apparent game plan to turn the midfield into a battle and it’s proving very effective. The last 2 results have been great for Ayr, but it does feel like we’re flying by the seat of our pants at times with next to no control of the ball in the middle of the park. I definitely think there are times when we will have to put an extra man in midfield so we’re not getting overrun. The disappointment for me is Bangala. On paper he sounded like what we are missing, but he’s trained with us for a good 6-8 weeks now and there’s no sign that Bullen believes in him. -

He looks too lightweight to play wide of a midfield 4. Would probably be better suited to a front 3. I hope Bullen has watched Morton recently as they seem to be flooding the midfield with numbers, so might be better for us to add Smith in the middle and sacrifice Young. -

Crawford wasn’t well served by McCall playing him at left midfield. When you see him playing for Morton as part of a midfield 3 you realise how useful he could be to us, particularly given Bullen seems to have zero faith in Bangala. -

Watching the game tonight, Jack Baird is looking like the centre back I thought we were getting when he signed from St Mirren. He got plenty of chances at Ayr though, so happy enough that we moved on with Musonda and Kirk. Wish we’d signed Robbie Crawford all the same, given Bangala appears to be a turkey. I’ll never not be baffled by the attitude of some Ayr fans to Crawford.
