  1. Have to say that I paid a visit to New Countess on Saturday v Whitehill. it was good seeing several folks involved and trying to help out club with all the various activities. Very well done to you all - splendid effort.
  2. There’s no doubt the Dunbar goalies (both of them look more than decent) will contribute to the teams success this season. Don’t know so much about a desperate need for players ,,, the squad looks to have capability and is organised. Goals will come, and hopefully the points will follow. There isn’t an easy match in any of the league fixtures. To assume so would be disrespectful of opponents. Rosyth - they will make lots of clubs look average, Whitehill will also take their fair share of victories in the league. A very decent start to the season for Dunbar, but I hope nobody is getting carried away and assuming the business has been done. That’s simply not the way it works. The way it works is; players get injured, they go off form, the suspensions creep in, the winter grounds get heavy, the 3G grounds catch people out, players have holidays, players move on, postponements - eg Gretna, muck up planning, bizarre refereeing decisions and just plan old bad luck all come together to knacker things. Theres 101 things that could go wrong. But the important thing is that the two results have gone in the teams favour.
  3. That seemed to be a decent result for Dunbar against WW. At the end of the day the points are on the table. The performances will get better, the team will gel. It’s early doors. If anyone thinks a simple task to finish in the top 3 of the league - please share the secret. one game at a time. Steady progress is all that’s required. Whitehill will take points from many teams this season - no doubt about that.
  4. Well Tam, that’s an innate detail there. Pity that you haven’t noticed the entire wall of images displayed in the main lounge, nor obviously the corridors full of DUFC photos. Theres also the issue where you previously stated with authority that the new stand was going to be located on the east side of the pitch behind the dugouts, j,,, really?? But then you said that a guy called AL told you so it must be right information. It must be a surprise to visitors that the stand has been built on the wrong side - according to your previous duff information. Never mind,,, here’s a scoop for you - the next stand may be built on the east side of the pitch. If only
  5. Season has just started and we have teams written off already. All I’m saying is that it’s not over until it’s over. Last seasons Premier went to the wire before it was all done and dusted for the relegated teams. We also seen teams who were seemingly destined for the bottom four to escape by putting a few unexpected winning games together, whilst others uncontrollably imploded. Hopefully it’s going to be a competitive division this season. There’s an awful lot of external factors in this particular mix. There’s many pitches that frankly will be a disaster zone throughout the winter period. Maybe the weather will be kind. There’s also a few cage grounds of which personally I’m not a fan. Then there’s the inevitable injury run, postponements and cup competitions also in schedule. Add in one or two questionable refereeing decisions which can easily change the outcome of a game. Factors that can be controlled include player transfers and release, and the elephant in the room management changes - resignations/sackings/greener pastures. It’ll be interesting.
