Agree. I know some folk think £80 is reasonable but if I was taking the wife that’s £160 for a meal, watching some guys get an award and an after dinner speaker I’m not fussed about. I’m not a guy who has black tie wear as well, so by the time you factor that in it’s not my scene at all. I’ve been before and it was a good celebration and a chance to thank players in person, but this is going for a different vibe. I used to really like them too so it’s a shame. I hope they get the night they want as it definitely isn’t aimed at the average fan.

4th year in a row above Dunfermline in overall league standings. Beat them 5 times this year. Quite embarrassing to be calling us a wee team yet being so far behind us recently. If they want to be having their biggest ‘rivalries’ with current League 1 teams then that’s up to them. I’m sure the black and white plastic bags will be waved about aplenty at the KDM Group East End Park when newly promoted Falkirk come to Dunfermline next year, if they stay up.

I just went on to see if there was a stream available to buy as I am working up north this week and looks like there is one you can buy. I would imagine the club will say on their social media closer to kick off.

Kev made a mess of the second goal no doubt, but you could argue again the full backs have played a part in us losing goals yet again. Yesterday, Liam Dick stands completely still for the first goal. There was no player for him track so he should he have been running to close down too and put his body on the line. Might have made no difference, but it was a lack of awareness again. Third goal we have plenty of chances to clear it and fail to do so then James Brown can’t hold a line with his defence and plays the guy (probably) on side. He is looking right across the line and takes a step FURTHER BACK. Poor stuff. On top of the regular defensive mistakes, these two offer absolutely zero in terms of overlap or extra pressure to kill a game off. Put it this way, can you imagine either of them keeping their contract or going to a higher placed team next season? A key area of recruitment in the summer no matter where we end up in my opinion.

A slight breeze? Second half the goal kick couldn’t get half way up the park. Of course it had a bearing on the game. Not an excuse though, Rovers should have dealt with it and had the game out of sight.

If only, if only. Rovers haven’t had the same defence from one week to another most weeks and the two centre halves that were in Ian Murray’s plans for seeing out the season a week and a half ago are now injured probably for the season. Every team gets injuries, you don’t know how other teams would have performed without theirs too.

I don’t think it was one of the worst in thirty years anyway! There was one penalty shout that went our way. Even then there is contact and it is right in front of the referee. What else about it was so bad? There wasn’t any obvious red cards that weren’t given, no one was robbed of a penalty, the amount of extra time allocated seemed respectable. My point about conspiracy should have been clarified to be more game based, fans have a feeling the referee is ‘against them’ in an match because some 50/50s go against them. Fact is Rovers have won twice this year and if Morton fans think that is down to ‘cheating’ or refereeing they are failing to see the inadequacies in their team. In the last fixture at Cappielow, the smallest man on the park walked into the box and scored two headers.

‘Worst refereeing performance… in over thirty years’ a crazy take. It was a soft penalty. I’m sure Morton have never had one of those before, or got the luck of a decision against Dundee United. Fans really need to spend less of their time getting so annoyed with referees. There is no conspiracy against your team. FWIW I thought that in both games Rovers got a lead and sat in, looking to counter when they could. That is part of their play this season. The numbers are plain to see that is what we do, and it was the same on Saturday too. Imrie has done a great job during this run. Good to see a bit of spice in the pre match to give the game an edge. We really need to sort out our ability to deal with set pieces falling in just outside the six yard box or their unbeaten streak will be extended.

If the club want to bam up other folk on social media then it’s up to them. Just hope we don’t go down a route of being regularly controversial for clicks. I’ll admit it’s not really my thing as after a defeat you have to see not only a section of our own supporters who love to complain going daft but now this extra sauce of opposition fans piling in, but can see why it’s done. No need to put Championship strugglers on our posters though We are looking up, not down. Can’t be sleeping on our next match now. Ayr scored 3 goals and got 3 points against Airdrie, something we’ve not done, and going forward caused us a lot of problems in wide areas in previous fixtures. Taking my kid for their first visit to their ground and hoping for a big Rovers support now we are right back in the title race.

Really appreciate the work the new people have done but putting up stuff like that is just misleading. I was there at a league game vs Rangers in 1995 when I was 15 or so and it was around 9,000. It’s a minor point but just annoyed me a bit because that time was an important time to me as a supporter. I would prefer we stop manipulating words to try to pat ourselves on the back midway through a season when there’s so much work still to be done. If we don’t steady the ship there is no hiding that we’ve bottled it in the eyes of supporters of other teams. Sell the tickets on the basis on the importance of a match, not some arbitrary number. Anyhoo, onto the match. If Stanton isn’t ready to start, it is this line up for me: Kev Millen Watson Murray Dick Byrne Brown Connolly Vaughan Easton Hamilton I get Easton has been off the boil, but he can bring a moment of magic. I feel Connolly brings more out of Millen and we need two holding midfielders in this match. Big crowd. Big game for us. This is something to look forward to.

John Sim still does plenty to help the club, he is still involved. Unlike around the time of the insanely poor DGW decision, he is not forced to get involved as much and has other overseen the introduction of new investors and directors with specialist knowledge to make things better at the club. I’ve moved on from holding that mistake against him because it actually took some awareness to accept that he needed to do this as the majority shareholder. We’ve seen folk at other clubs double down and things spiral. Completely get the DGW matter was a colossal misstep, but he has been involved in positive changes since whether folk like to admit it or not, especially within the community investment.

It is finances but I’m not baffled by some people thinking it’s a signing. Saying there is going to be an exclusive announcement to go out on 31 January was always going to have a few people asking the question. Could have avoided confusion by making it a day later. Fingers crossed it reflects a club on the up. Get some good feeling back amongst the support, because Friday could be a great chance to turn around this blip and give us a final to look forward to… but the lads need the backing no boos!

Completely agree on Dick. If the rumours are true and we were close to getting Stevenson in the summer, then he wasn’t Murray’s first choice to keep him as a left back that starts nearly every single game. I can see why. He was murder yesterday, in a position that some on here think he should play every week. There was moans and groans when Easton didn’t play him in at one point, but the time it took him to be in that position seemed like an age. Megwa utterly dominated Easton the other week because Liam didn’t offer anything in terms of an overlap. You could argue he is being told to play that way, but I don’t believe it as it has been his style under two managers. At this point, I’d rather we get a full back in than a centre half for this reason. Hannah is nowhere near ready.

Absolutely no chance that is in that email on purpose haha. Hamilton is one of the first on the teamsheet, but we must have a better option than me currently do when he is not fit or has to come off. Rudden fits the bill for me 100%. A good move by the club.

Managers have a limited budget but some also want a certain squad size even just in terms of bodies for training. Young players are generally used for this due to the low cost and potential, but it is rare that they breakthrough into the first team as regulars at that age. Masson has had chances this season and last and not taken them to be an exception. That’s perfectly fine. The manager trains with the players and has bounce games in addition to what we see so he knows exactly where they are at and what their current weaknesses are. If someone is classed as a centre half it does not necessarily mean they are better suited in a manager’s system as a centre half than someone who is far more experienced, understands the game better and is more comfortable on the ball that is classed as a ‘midfielder’. Ian Murray doesn’t have to put a player in front of us to prove if they are good enough. He knows what he needs and if someone isn’t giving it to him in training then they don’t deserve to play. From what I see, Masson and Corr would not get a game for other teams in the top half of the Championship this season. I’m 100% ok with the time they’ve had. I think Corr would have played more if we were having a middling season, but he gave away the ball against Queen’s Park leading to their corner and made a mess of the goal at ICT away so that is likely why he is out. We need a centre half and a full back as a priority if we want to compete for the number one position. On another note, our finishing and final ball yesterday was completely off it. I don’t know if it was because of the different system but if the final pass accuracy and choice was better we would be sitting in the pot for the next round, regardless of Livi’s two goals. A seriously hard week of work ahead for the team.

Great news. He has been phenomenal for us and the thought of him and Turner in midfield for Saturday is a much better prospect than the other possibilities last week. Imagine he had been recalled, Turner didn’t sign and Stanton is out for a while. That comment about the video is bang on Would have much preferred a bigger interview with Shaun and David Hancock as really like his interviews, he seems to be able to bring something extra out in people and that’s a skill most folk trying this don’t have. I think he is a volunteer though and maybe wasn’t free. Centre half next if possible Rovers!

Radio said Murray was ill. Considering he has never missed an interview up until this point, it was a bit odd that some opposition fans thought he sh*t it. In hindsight, Smith and Vaughan together in front of that midfield was a massive mistake. Cant recall Smith doing anything of note and Vaughan had half chances at best. I think Mullin should have been dropped for Connolly if Hamilton wasn’t going to play. His delivery is excellent but Connolly just offers more things in different areas. Very disappointed with Easton’s last two performances as well, Megwa had him in his pocket yesterday. The biggest negative from the game as I now have no idea if we can field a top end of the table back four for a few games. At the end of the day, blowing two 2-0 leads to draw, narrowly winning against a depleted Dunfermline and looking abject against Airdrie doesn’t build confidence that this side has the legs to go the league winning distance at the moment. However, we had a similar performance in Airdrie there back in September and bounced back massively with patchwork sides. This is our best chance to reach the top division in god knows how long and we have to get behind them after a blip. I was near the front yesterday and behind me some of the shouts were outrageous. Not sure how shouting ‘THAT’S SH**TE’ 30 minutes into a match after their defender makes a good read of a pass helps anyone.

Rivalries aside, well done to Dunfermline for calling it out this morning. These individuals are clearly more interested acting like hard men than backing your club so won’t be missed if caught and banned. In terms of the match, I personally thought Rovers were the better team, despite having obvious weaknesses that Dunfermline bizarrely didn’t fancy capitalising on. After an early spell of pressure there really wasn’t much to worry about before the equaliser, then it was just a bit huff and puff. It was crazy when you equalised that the ‘Ultras’ decided to take momentum out of the match but throwing more flares onto the pitch. Looked like some players were not happy and rightfully so. Kudos to Dan O’Reilly. He’s earned a contract 100%. Between Watson and Murray one of them always seems to be suspended or carrying a knock so if we are serious about being up there he needs to be signed purely for numbers. But in fact, I would say he is ahead of both of those two in terms of getting a start anyway. Hopefully that is us back on track after two disappointing results, but IM please rest Kev for Airdrie!

Getting away from work early so will be there. Three points is three points for me. We have to go strong and not ‘save’ people for another game. I am going to assume Murray is injured. Mullin played there due to a suspension for regular RB Millen. I’d imagine Millen will be back in unless there is an injury we don’t know about. You are right about Byrne. He has been class for us.
