  1. Wasn’t at the game today due to work but what I have seen of him suggests he’s pretty slow, weak defensively and has one trick where he gets the ball on the left of the 18yd box and tries to curl it into the top right hand corner……so far everyone has missed.
  2. Sorry to hear about Hinds, especially if true, that the issue was out with his or the clubs hands. Saying all that, the squad is not as bare as it was back in November and we seem to have plenty options on the left. Sheridan a ‘meh’ signing, but if he piles in with a couple of last minute winners and/or the younger squad members get anything from his experience, so be it.
  3. Yup, me too. It's going to be interesting too see how the rehabilitation of Grant Savoury affects the formation. Given the squad make-up (as it stands) I'm finding it increasingly difficult to see how a 3 at the back allows essentially our best players to get into the team. We appear to have almost an embarrassment of riches on the left but are very light on the right hand side, McPherson only a loan (and a little sporadic) and Longridge isn't getting any younger. I'd like to see Scott and Thomas hook up on the left, with Paton feeding off Savoury and Thomson in midfield with Welsh in behind, however that would inevitably mean no space for Turner who's actually quietly impressed me despite initial misgivings and two CB's, rather than three.
  4. Quality of the game - zero Standard of shithousery (from both sides) - off the chart. QP toothless up front and others have said, without Ferrie and under Veldman we lose that 3/4-nil, so against a bogey team on a rich run of form = progress being made. Only note to Davidson. When 0-0 and needing a goal, Longridge (sorry) isn't the answer
  5. Which one is you and which one is your sister.....always get you two mixed up.
  6. Haha, lovely lad but sad to say the rose-tint still hasn't quite fully formed for his time with us yet.
  7. Unless there's more than 10kts of wind, at which point the trains will probably be cancelled
  8. 20 years old so the potential to add value and relatively low risk. Nice to see the ethos of youth/player development and the pragmatism of adding experience where necessary brought together by a manager that knows the lay of the land. The future's bright, the future's not (completely) orange. Loving it.
  9. Wasn't at the match but genuinely pleased to hear this. His treatment by Veldman, (however badly he had played) at Airdrie was shocking; given the 'data' must have indicated there was a player in there, hence QP giving him a contract, the effect that incident must have had on his mentality can't be under-estimated. Good to see that Davidson, however he's gone about it, has given a young player the confidence to put in that kind of performance after being effectively frozen out.
  10. Intrigued (and apologies if I'm a bit behind here) but of January's younger-aged signings, (Crole, Carse, Haspell and Scott), does anyone know if these were players that the previous regime's data analytics had highlighted or have they been purely Davisdon signings?
  11. If you check QP website or Twitter, (sorry X) a few days before hand they'll usually inform as to which point to enter the car park from. Again, it's free. Has that been a recent, (i.e. last few weeks) change as the last game I went to I felt ever so slightly violated!
  12. The secret is out. QP's recent excellent run of form is not indeed down to the appointment of Dunblane's finest and his recruitment in January, more my inability to attend matches recently. QP could have played for a week at that last Cappielow match and still never scored; the missed penalty and the recriminations at the end probably the nadir of the season, (if not our current Championship tenure) so far. Don't want to jinx this one but the prospect of watching two form teams coming up against each other, (with the bonus of arguably more 'needle' here than in other fixtures) is probably too good to miss. I apologise now and whole-heartedly to my fellow south-siders for the inevitable result.
  13. Ever get that deja vu feeling of history repeating.......lose your best, (or some of your best) player(s) and replace with unproven/untried loanees. I've been hoping since July that when he comes back, Grant Savoury is at the very least the player he was last year, as when it comes to either a relegation dog-fight or a play off against Hamilton, we're gonna need him firing on all cylinders.
  14. Surely though, if he was unsettled/homesick, given our connections south of the border we could have arranged a loan deal somewhere thus at least giving us the chance of a sale at some point down the line. Letting him go smacks more of a breakdown in relations or a major falling out. So far it could be argued we have become weaker as a squad this month, rather than stronger?
  15. Having recently spent 7 extremely unpleasant weeks in Crawley recently I'd have played up here for free
  16. Was wondering whether his departure had anything to do with/was related to, Davidson's dropping him for the Rovers game, (think he also mentioned something about desire/reaction yada yada).
  17. 'Jack Spong to leave the club by mutual consent' One of the few highlights (for me anyway) of this season. One of the few you thought that might realise the plan of developing youth and then selling on for a profit. Anyone know WTAF is going on at the moment?
  18. He's way, way better than L2, would even say L1 might be beneath him; either way getting him on a decent contract would in the very least up his value. Imagine what his stats would be if someone gave him a decent defence in front of him.
  19. Not to harp on but...... We're trying to grow a local support by engaging with the community and a large part of that is by giving away free tickets to local primary schools, an initiative which is quite rightly applauded. We then go and sit, on more than one occasion, the away support right next to them. Now, for the avoidance of doubt I'm no snowflake and absolutely believe supporters should be able to support their teams as they see fit, (within the realms of common decency etc) and therefore I'm not being critical of away supporters, rather of QP/G4S/Hampden (delete as appropriate); of the games I've been to, to watch/hear grown adults swear and gesticulate in the general direction of a bunch of kids aged between 4 and 11 is pretty poor look. If I was a local primary school Head Teacher and having witnessed/been informed of this, I'd be wary of accepting further free tickets in the knowledge that this scenario was likely. Again, it all boils down to the fact we've made a horlicks of our own 'stadium' and have therefore put our fate in the hands of others.....as I've mentioned previously, our club's ability to shoot itself in the foot time and time again is second to none.
  20. Absolutely agree regarding the revenue stream which is important, but that importance shouldn’t be overstated; it’s the proportionality that I have issue with, especially when it comes at the expense of the punters and the atmosphere and none are worse imho than QP at the moment. If I wished to go to sporting events purely for the aim of being wined, dined and being seen to be there, then I’d follow rugby.
  21. Everything that’s ring with football summed up in a single image.
  22. That I could see, however you’d hope that if he was deployed as a Libero then there’d be some competency left in behind.
  23. Watching the highlights back again. The run from Bruce, the ball from Robson and then the hit……molto bene!!
