  1. And that matters how exactly?, we're giving tickets away to local primary schools in the community, of which, given the area, many of whom may not ordinarily be able to afford to come to football often - we're not, as far as I'm aware, forcing them at gunpoint to come along. Grow up.
  2. Generally a fair and reasonable assumption. I'm no apologist for Ferrie and personally believe he has his limitations, especially when it comes to his distribution where he often appears slow in his decision making and prone to resort to kicking long ultimately losing possession - but genuinely his shot stopping has saved us more points this season than he has cost - it it weren't for him I daresay we'd be far closer, or even adrift of, Arbroath - it is one of life's great mysteries that he seems to 'save' (geddit) his worst for games for those against you. When it comes to the finger of blame for the volume of goals conceded this season 95pc will be in the direction of Veldman and his defensive organisation - an issue that it appears Davidson hasn't quite as yet, gotten on top of.
  3. Jesus, a statement thicker than chicken soup. Whatever his strengths and weaknesses are you really need to give your head a wobble.
  4. If we survive to fight another year in the Championship next year, that is exactly the kind of basic stuff that needs to be cut out. To have two experienced defenders in a back three, one out muscled and the other miles away in no-man's land allowing two opposition players a free header is criminal. Often in L1 and even more so this season, we are mostly, our own worst enemy at times.
  5. Never been a better time to meet and beat, Morton and with Sheridan and Paton forming unlikely double-act you'd think this was a dead-cert, however my inner pessimist just knows this will be the game that Morton end their run. Only prediction I'll make is that it's bound to be a less boring, turgid affair than that served up at Hampden last night.
  6. Bought four match package tickets, 2 adult, 2 child, but only three tickets have been delivered to the app. All e-mails to the SFA have gone unanswered and all attempts to call them have resulted in the phone just ringing out. Other than an expensive trip to HQ, anyone have any ideas?
  7. Great news. If CD can turn Will Tizzard from the shell that he'd become under RV to the competent, developing CB that he is now, imagine what he'll do for Fox....he'll be eating strikers for lunch while scoring sh!t-pingers from all over the place!
  8. Between the two of you the heart would love Rovers to get the automatic promotion and have a punt against the big boys, however as a QP fan, we need the three points. Don't think anyone in this league near the bottom 5 should fear Hamilton and with Falkirk undoubtedly coming up and if Utd went up this year, the Championship next year could genuinely be a belter of a league.
  9. Think I'm a bit more nuanced than that. There are games you should win and others that are free hits. Given our recent records at Morton and Ayr and recent record against Utd and the state of the league, personally, on this occasion, I think 3 points is a must.
  10. Couldn't agree more. No disrespect intended but if we are serious about being competitive in the Championship then we need to be beating teams like Airdrie and not spanking two goal leads at home. Half right; first part of the season we were solely reliant on Paton whilst the defence was as solid as wet tissue paper. Some astute signings, of which (Sheridan and Welsh have arguably had the biggest impact) and a change of formation have eased the pressure on Paton and the defence somewhat. If Morton and Ayr have been bogey teams for us, Rovers and Thistle have provided more even, entertaining games with, more often than not, a more positive result. Given the away games we have left and having United at home next month, I'd be tempted to say, given how bunched-up teams seem to be getting in the bottom of half of the league, 3 points is almost a must.
  11. Hopefully they don't update it....2023 will just be a solid red line!
  12. Gutted for him, especially at such a young age. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery.
  13. You talking about Ayr or Queen's Park?? Ambitions for QPFC - to be competitive in the short-medium term within the Championship, building upon the work the club has done within the community to build a larger fan base and for this in addition to the youth development model to bare sufficient fruit to ensure independent financial stability. Oh and a stadium fit for purpose.
  14. Showing my age and lack of commercialism but I'm really not a fan of third kits which I personally see as just another way of parting fans with cash unnecessarily. Given the current economic climate, the general cost of kits (especially Adidas) & the wide range of demographics on the south side, I'm quite happy that through either accident or design, we as a club haven't gone down that route again this season. (I appreciate last years third kit was in aid of charity) As @Arachnophile states, a classic home kit and a bonkers change kit means you don't require a third kit.
  15. Yup, agreed, last years wasn't the best but I had hoped that it was as bland as it was purely on the basis that we'd changed supplier therefore gotten an off the peg design for year one in anticipation of something more bespoke year two; alas we went with Adidas and got the exact same, or arguably worse, treatment! Adidas are a bit hit and miss at the moment. If we're sticking with them next year, (which I assume we are) hopefully they a) get the basics right, b) give us that within a clean, (classic?) design but most importantly c) stay away from that awful 5 year old colouring in crap that they gave Juve or that boggin' pattern that Celtic have.
  16. One of our best and most consistent players in L1 and for the first half of last season, however he's been sporadic at best since Murray left. I'd be surprised if a new deal was in the offing.
  17. Unpopular opinion perhaps, but Macron are making some of the nicest & most original kits at the moment, the Dumbarton home kit is a thing of beauty.
  18. Five home games left, Thistle, Rovers, Utd, ICT and Airdrie, with visits to Ayr and Morton, both bogey grounds for us. Confident of six points away at Arbroath and Dunfermline, whilst the Airdrie game is a bolt on draw. League turning into one of two mini-leagues, Promotion and Play-Off spots for the current top four, (maybe if I squint a bit add Airdrie in there too) and the remaining five all getting rather tight (if Arbroath retain their form). ICT up until last week seemed to be stagnating after the Fergie bounce. How are we all feeling about the run-in?
  19. Mmm, agree, but the palm of the hand is hovering over it a little at the moment, (albeit slightly higher than it was in December!). Rather than a ‘must win’, it’s most definitely a game we cannot afford to lose IMHO
  20. One assist in 11 appearances, if I’m being myopically kind, is bang average. If one thing has been learnt since Simon Murray’s departure it’s that we need everyone pulling their weight in defence, Paton regularly runs himself into the turf working for the team; given the situation we’re in, I doubt very much if we can accommodate or accept, passengers.
