Heard from a reliable source that McMaster is signed up for next season.

If this is accurate, that we are forward planning and signing young laddies for next season, it begs the question why the f**k have we not got Gal signed up yet?

Difficult one at the moment as it's very much league dependent but we'd have a chance of keeping Frizz and Smith if we get promotion. Gal's part time status may keep him here but I'd be surprised if Josh Rae remains, even if we go up, as I'm sure he'll be off to better things.

Josh Rae has to sign an extension to his contract for the club to pay for his shoulder operation. If he's going to leave it will be on the clubs terms.

    Incisive assessment  there Ian.

I think we were all calling the no change to the starting line up. Re Gal he's not really let us down at all this season even when not scoring so as a double I don't reckon I'd have got decent odds at the bookies. He's got to have a new contract sitting in front of him/his agent for signing. Otherwise there will be a few of us rioting outside that ground.

  3. Can't have there being no match thread for 2 successive Saturdays, people will think we don't care.

After last weekend you would have to think we can take 3 points from this and possibly grab a good few goals again. Last time we entertained Peterhead we only managed a draw although have beaten them up there. They have managed 1 win in 2023 and prior to that it was September 2022.

Hopefully another CalGal masterclass for us tomorrow and the manager remaining on the bench.

This made me laugh for 2 reasons.

    1. You didn’t know who Matty Todd was last week. But he 100% belongs in a team of the year. That performance last night was very typical of the season he’s having.

    2. Took me a while to realise you didn’t mean Lewis McCann and I was about to question that inclusion!

Not arguing with any of your selections. I’d put Edwards ahead of McCann myself. But I’ve seen Edwards most weeks and not seen much of McCann. Think Morrison’s a very good player though and he seems to have contributed a lot for Falkirk this season.

If I had to pick opposition players, based on what I’ve seen, it would be nothing like what the actual team of the year looks like. The teams 2nd-4th have a total of 1 goal and 1 point combined from their 9 games against us.

In comparison, Clyde have 3 goals (and 2 points) us and Peterhead have 2 goals (and 1 point). Airdrie scored 5 of the 16 we’ve conceded, so I’d have to put in quite a few of their players.

Absolutely, Edwards is twice the player that McCann is. Having seen both playing for my team and then having been in opposition teams over the past seasons there is no comparison to be made other than them playing on the same side of the pitch.

I'd rather be relegated than have that odious lying cretin McCall anywhere near the club. Davie Hutton is correct about him.

Neither know nor care what Hutton said about McCall. Fact is he's a man who gets performances and results from a football team and that's what matters. If we were employing people based on them being of  good character I don't think Hutton would be anywhere near us.

I don’t agree with everything he says here, and he’s probably being fairer than is merited, but good on McCabe for calling out the referee out as his performance yesterday was an absolute nonsense.

I realise it's all click bait but I have issues with "astonishing" and "rant" here. There is nothing astonishing about slating the referee. And rant? Really? I've watched the post match interview and it's nothing like this...

    rant

    /rant/

    verb

verb: rant; 3rd person present: rants; past tense: ranted; past participle: ranted; gerund or present participle: ranting

speak or shout at length in an angry, impassioned way.

"she was still ranting on about the unfairness of it all"

He seemed very calm and measured in his words.

Some result that. Gutted I missed it. My takes from the 3 main talking points.

Wighton’s goal should have stood. Nothing in it.
Close call but keeper did take the ball out of box imo, not sure on the exact rules but can see why no booking as there was no intent to gain an advantage from doing so, he just slid out. I’d be inclined to agree with free kick only.
Smith knew what he was doing imo, so correct red.

2 hands on the back and a nudge while the player jumped so that's a foul.

Josh Rae clearly took the ball over the line and pulled it back in. Regardless of momentum carrying him and the ball over the line he was deliberately handling it. The free kick was given so the ref/linesman saw it and it should have been his 2nd yellow.

Just watched the match of the day highlights of West Ham v Chelsea and there is a handball by the West Ham defender while going down in his own box which the ref/VAR decided was not a penalty. There is no way that Smiths can be decreed to be him deliberately denying a goal scoring opportunity when he has fallen after a tackle and rolled into the ball.

So the ref in my opinion got one correct and two completely wrong. Regardless of the red card for Smith "balancing out" the lack of one for Rae that ref needs to face some consequences for these errors.

And on the subject of MOTD I've also watched Wolves, one goal down and reduced to 10 men after 27 minutes go on to win a match. We can't even defend a 3 goal lead for 30 minutes which is an absolute disgrace. Yet again it comes down to game management, or lack thereof, due to both manager and assistant being caught up on the game and not reacting with necessary changes at the right times. I still don't mind them both being players but when the f**k are we going to have someone on the bench or in the stand who can see what is needing changed and relay the info to them. Moaning after the match about full backs not stopping crosses (ridiculous excuse) and players "not putting their bodies on the line" isn't changing anything and it's time the management team accepted their own part in the teams failings then making sure that it doesn't happen again (and again).

Don't think enough has been made about the first sub after the sending off. There's a reason Devenny has hardly featured this season and that's because he's not good enough. A complete waste of a jersey that was chasing shadows and nothing else despite being our freshest set of legs. Ultimately that comes down to the poor decision making by the manager to day and poor summer recruitment. Not fucking good enough.

Absolute nonsense post. Devenny is a decent player on his day, possibly not consistent enough but that happens when you're not playing a lot of minutes on a regular basis.

I don't think he was the right substitution at that time but that's nothing to do with him being "a waste of a jersey".

I can only summise that you're the type who shouts abuse at players in his own team.

I don't think a striker is going to complete 90 for us between now and May.

Flashscores has ruined the surprise for me for both goals by being a minute ahead of FTV

Ruining one is bad luck, letting it ruin 2 is idiotic given you can mute the notifications for a match.

That’s three times I have seen Edinburgh now and how they are not down beside Clyde and Peterhead is beyond me. They are very poor.

Because they've beaten us 3 out of 3 and scored 14 in the process. Every season Airdrie have a team who we just struggle with, recently Clyde, previously Stenny and this season Edinburgh. If they weren't beating us they'd be at the same points as Kelty and the league place above Clyde and Peterhead so your point is valid. Even the games they beat us they looked poor, we were just shit and tactically played into their hands.

Don't think for a minute that Jamieson going back will be as big a blow to us as Allegria going back to Rangers will be to Falkirk.

As for Mcmaster I believe there is a fair bit of talent there but I felt that his commitment shaded a bit when he was injured early on. We only have to look at Stanway and his presence in one game to realise that Dean won't see too many starts this season.

I'm hoping that your tongue was firmly implanted in your cheek regards Alegria. He was utter gash.

I've heard the same, that LJ has been recalled by St.Mirren.

Not sure if that is to compete for some first team action or, as seems more likely, he may be off somewhere else permanently.

That's it been officially confirmed and it would be tragic for the laddie if he's just back to warm a seat in the dugout.

McMaster been a really pointless signing so far for us, barely featured and when he has doesn't offer much. Hope it's not made permanent.

Disagree with this. McMaster looked fine when starting matches which took a while after his injury. The game's Vs Dundee and Kelty/Falkirk either side of the cup game he didn't do anything wrong at all but he is the first to be dropped when the manager wants to change formation or line up. That doesn't do any good at his age when he's needing a run of games.

Jamieson is away back to st mirren now

Where has that been reported? Nothing from either club about him going back and his original loan was until the end of the season with an option to be recalled. St Mirren have posted about Offord being recalled from Alloa but nothing about Jamieson which I'd expect them to do if he was going back. We may take slightly longer to update the support.
