  1. Maybe Airdrie would let us play at their gaff this Friday? We'll bring a cake or something.
  2. I was commenting elsewhere that a BBC statistic showed that this season Queens have dropped 24 points from winning positions. If we had managed to salvage half of those points then Friday's game against Airdrie would have been a promotion playoff decider rather than a defacto relegation playoff decider. We just haven't been able to defend leads this season.
  3. I am still trying to get used to the new BBC football layout but two interesting statistics I stumbled across were; QP gained 6 points from coming from behind this season. QP gave up 24 points from winning positions this year. 24 points! How different the league table would look if we even managed to save half those points. Next Friday would have been a playoff place decider!
  4. My first trip to Arbroath (a lovely place). I had my first Smokie at the Old Brewhouse (smashing). And a terrific display from the Spiders once they settled down. I was wrapped up to the gills and shivering despite the blue skies. It takes a hardy soul to stand on that terrace in the winter! At least our fate is back in our hands.
  5. Interesting although I thought I saw a post AGM post saying that the plans for stands that were "on file" were for the Letherby Drive end.
  6. Indeed. Refereeing games and scoring goals at the same time. Quite a talent.
  7. I suppose everything is relative. A season that promised so much has frustrated and disappointed us. We knew we had a weaker squad this year but hoped that a promotion playoff spot might have been achieveable. Failing that a mid table finish. Instead we are at the other end as seasoned pros soon sussed out the naivety in our young teams and some suicidal tactics by our previous manager didn't help. The main gripe is thay with the talent and resources thay QP have we should not be in ninth place. If we stay there we might survive but we have not had much go our way this year so I'd rather avoid the playoffs if possible. Sorry to see Arbroath go down but think you will boss L1.
  8. We feel your pain as well. A group therapy session in a suitable hostelry is probably required. 2023/4 is a season I would like to forget quite quickly.
  9. I seem to remember we drew nearly half of our games that season and couldn't defend a lead. Don't quite know what it is with QP and defending. We just don't seem to got it quite right since we turned pro.
  10. All booked up on the QPSA caravan of love for Saturday. It has been a while since I have been on the supporters bus and it will be my first away day to Arbroath. I am looking forward to it.
  11. And us asleep in the stands watching the dullest football we have ever seen.
  12. If you compare attendances in the Championship and League One (without Falkirk) then it paints a very stark picture in terms of income. Relegation would be disasterous from that point of view.
  13. I don't think so but Beuker may be given the state he left us in.
  14. Interesting selection for us. Great the Dom is back. Wilson out, presumably crocked. With Dom and McKinstry both playing I am guessing we are changing our shape to a 4-3-3? Big day for Fox and Tizz.
  15. I see from Owen Coyle Jnr's post on Linkedin that his dad has taken Chenaiyin FC to the play offs in India. Well done to Owen Snr! A celebratory (curried?) fish supper beckons I am sure
  16. Congratulations to Inverness. You played the better football and deserved the three points today. You had the better run of the play and the better chances on goal. The Queens Park squad didn't turn up. And that is now three games in a row that we have stunk the place out. Whilst the referee gave too many soft fouls for my taste (both ways) I don't think he had a decisive decision that altered the game. There was a lack of leadership on the pitch in the Queens Park squad. To my eye, it seemed as though whoever had the ball was expecting someone else to do something special with it (with the honourable expectation of Jack Thomson and Louis who at least had a go). We play best with pace, movement, and with the ball on the deck. Floaty long balls do not play to our strengths. Let's stick to what we are good at, just like we did at Ayr and we will be fine. We should not be ninth with the talent in that squad, which is, in my opinion, better than what Inverness had to offer. I do not sense that our squard are playing for their survival in the Championship. Today looked like a pre-season friendly. It is time for the team to stand up and be counted. And us as well in the stands, which are far too quiet when times are tough.
  17. A stellar performance from Greenock's finest with a league leading 380 fouls and five of the top 10 in yellow cards. Surely they are being persecuted by the fascist SFA refs of Scotland? After all they are gentle footballing souls down that way are they not?
  18. He has been a revelation. Three goals and three assists since he joined us. And in most games he didn't play 90mins. Cheers Dunc!
