  1. Bobby Madden's brother-in-law was gutted he left Scottish Football for England.
  2. Langfield was always a pish goalie, if he had come out and flattened Sutton he would have been praised for his solid keeping. It was such a memorable sequence of events. Lasley hitting the bar from his own half, Langfield just laying on the deck claiming, Hutch getting fouled on the edge of the box, Reynolds handball on the line before Craig Reid squirreling the ball away. Always makes me laugh though as Steven MacLean missed the last-minute Russell Anderson handball at Fir Park in the previous game between the sides which denied us a precious three points. We always get saddled with the comment that decisions balance themselves out over the season but in that instance, it came true for once, furthermore, it was lovely seeing Anderson go on an expletive rant at McLean.
  3. It honestly seems like they're just making it up as they go with VAR which makes it all the more frustrating. The handball versus County earlier in the season the guy has his hand up by his head, if he doesn't handle then it goes out for a goal kick but instead he sets it up nicely for Brophy to score. We are then told that it's only the scorer that can be penalised in such instances. It's actually really frustrating paying a premium for something that's made our game less enjoyable. Since the introduction of VAR that's not the first time we have been told one thing only to be told different further down the line. We have done well scoring this year, but it's funny how we have struggled to score against a pish County, Livi and Aberdeen. We did however miss some glorious chances yesterday. It's a shame about the performance in general as we we played some tremendous and enjoyable stuff before the break against Celtic, Livi and Rangers.
  4. Always felt Clark was too easily beaten tbh. I remember once under no pressure he sliced a clearance right onto the bonce of Scott McDonald who headed home. Unfortunately for Kelly he had a wee blip last season right as Gordon got injured and Clarke clearly didn't fancy any of the deputies. Shame he has lost some form this season as he has produced some tremendous saves over his time with us. Hopefully he can build on that performance at Ibrox and have a strong end to the season, would be nice to have a well player in Germany plus the dosh would be most welcome.
  5. Liam Kelly is one of four keepers selected for the Scotland squad. Can't help but feel he will out of it come the final selection for Germany.
  6. MLS contracts are def weird. When Andy Rose left us mid season it was his old American club that benefitted from a transfer fee.
  7. First kit for me was this pin stripe number but the Pony logo wasn't that black rectangle it was the same as the one on the socks. Back in the day it easy to source the 'Well tops in JJB/Intersport etc.
  8. Totally agree. This is the image the bigots are using on facebook/twitter to try and show that Caseys tackle was malicious. But then we have this, the wee ned getting treated on his other leg the one he tried to knee cap Casey with.
  9. When we beat them in the League Cup Semi all the news and back page headlines were on that gimp Cardoso and his broken nose and how big bad Bowman should have seen red. But what was forgotten about was that Cardoso had caught Moult with a malicious elbow just before half time which required stitches right across his brow. I don't wish any injury to anyone but the wee guy went off limping with his other foot at the weekend, the one that caught Casey high.
  10. Throughly enjoying Hearts pump Sellick tbh. Even funnier that they missed a gift wrapped pen then got a guy sent off mins later. We really should have buried them in the first half last week, shame we made their Norwich reserve striker look like Ronaldo. Least both the bigots will be beeling as one could have overtaken the other while the other one could have developed a nice cushion. Loving our social media the past 24 hours, taking advantage of that feel good factor.
  11. Yeah his shirt underneath had the 'The Fridge' handwritten. Don't think he ever explained what the was about. I would have been 13 the last time we won a league game at Ibrox, I remember the short notice Sky change to the Monday, the Rangers fans queuing over night to secure their tickets to the 9 in a row party only for us to blow them away. I seem to remember Gazza missing a sitter tho. The following season I have fond memories of the win at Fir Park where Coyle and Falconer scored while wearing that florescent kit, I think that result derailed them in the persuit of 10. Social media has been a joy to read through, they feel hard done by. It was the same ref who done the game at Ibrox earlier in the campaign and messed up the two Spencer decisions.
  12. What a result. Well deserved. What a find Jack Vale is.
  13. TBF John Boyle was/is a bit a fud, but some former players have told some tales about Gannon.
  14. Fair do's. Despite his form this season I would still suggest Kelly is far superior than Woods. Some of the stops that we have seen from Kelly have been incredible thats probably why he has had more patience as he has proved he is more than capable. Woods was at Fir Park for 9 years and outwith his first season at Fir Park I don't think he was really ever considered first choice material. He was probably fortunate for the 1997/98 season as Scott Howie left us in the lurch at the very last minute and we did not have a curdy to bring anyone in and the admin season would see him battle it out with Dubourdeau. I know he has many years service here than Kelly but I could rhyme off the many disasters he caused, imo Woods is probably just above John Gardiner in goalkeeping quality.
  15. No chance, I still wake up at night in a cold sweat at night with him launching the ball straight at Gordon Durie in that Scottish Cup game with minutes remaining. Plus he loved to tee up Killie's Paul Wright frequently.
  16. I seem to remember him taking a car salesman gig for a while before returning as a manager somewhere. Funnily enough, he has a very active Twitter and slavers away daily.
  17. We have only lost two of our last ten games, the draws have been killing us but there are plenty of positives to be taken from our last three league games. We have conceded 6 against Ross County this season, our defence seems a bit more robust as of late but we still seem content to either concede with the opposition's first effort on target or conspire to hand them a goal on a plate, so with that in mind you can't help but feel that we will need a few goals to secure the win. It'll be interesting to see how we line up especially with us having the three games in six days.
  18. That picture was from a game against Celtic on the 3rd December 1994 at Hampden where we came back from 2 goals down. James Traynor visited my school a few years later and gave everyone freebies, being the only Well fan I ended up with a stash of motherwell images and one was a big A3 of almost that same image but sub Andy Roddie is in. The goal he's celebrating was sublime, dinking it over Bonnar from the edge of the six yard box. What a player he was, it was a real shame niggling injuries hammered his latter years.
  19. Lasley taking the Leanne Dempster approach to finances. They were banking on making some serious coin from Baccus but he is out of contract come the summer.
  20. It's a real shame, someone commented on an old thread this past week and it was quite sad to see all the old usernames of some great posters that no longer frequent that forum. I'm positive a few particular users these days use various accounts to spout negative stuff.
  21. No doubt that will be the case when you consider that Joe Efford was one of our highest earners.
  22. Robinson has been sniffing about big Mugabi as well on a pre-contract lol.
