  1. Yeah I was looking at Twitter and noticed someone has created quite a few fake Daily Record Sport accounts. One even reports Louis Moult heading to St J.
  2. Both us and Dundee are linked with signing Dipo Akinyemi from Ayr.
  3. Yeah he gave away a 90th minute penalty away against Aberdeen. This was followed by a fan running on from the Cooper Stand to knock out Jim Leightons last remaining tooth. The following week we got beat 4-3 to St Johnstone and gave away another pen, thankfully he was quickly turfed oot. Stefan Lindqvist was decent enough, I think he was capped by Sweden and had played at a high standard for a while. Daniel Sengewald was another random, injured almost straight away. A few months into the season makes his debut versus Celtic and we beat them 2-1. He never played a game for us but I remember asking Jim Griffin about that defender Holm Kraska, the reply was SHITE.
  4. Speaking of stadium work. The Main Stand's seating was supposed to be getting updated last year but it never materialised, I wonder if that will still be happening.
  5. Which player has had the best turfing out at our club? Over the years we have had a mix of some decent players leaving and some that were Lillian Gish. The exits of Josh Morris and Ollie Crankshaw are a bit tame compared to others. I'm sure David Kelly got into a fight with Terry Butcher and Eric Black before being promptly sacked. Colin McNair in the early 90s had people showing up at Fir Park looking for money, as it transpired he was on the gear. He got into a scuffle with Paul McGrillen and when George Burley and Jim Griffin tried to break it up it was Griffin that came off the worst, I think he needed a new set of teeth. I can't remember the full story about Rob Matthaei but I'm sure he approached Billy Davies about playing more and was told no, and in an interview with the Daily Record he said he wanted to knock Davies out. In more recent times Mr Glass himself, Jacob Blyth was caught inhaling nitrous oxide from a balloon while his Georgie Shore bird was doing lines next to him.
  6. I thought the new rule introduced this season was that if you make a genuine attempt to play the ball it's a yellow, he swiped at it and tickled the guy. Seems harsh.
  7. I think one of them actually badly burnt their hand at Stark's Park. The display at the start of the season vs Sligo and for KVV the other week I can get behind but the fudish behaviour not so much.
  8. Doubt it, you can always hear a mouse fart in the away end when St Mirren come calling. Plus that 17,000 you brought in the 70s must have made some racket when they trudged home in disappointment.
  9. He also stated Motherwell were beyond saving. No beef with United but for that comment I'm looking forward to Blair Spittal netting the winner on Saturday to send them down.
  10. Not quite drivel, I have not revisited the highlights of that game but that blooper is one I remember, up there with Stevie Woods. Motherwell were cruising 2-0 and Gus brought on Sutton and Mehmet early in the second half, Suttons tame header went straight to Meldrum who never moved for some reason and it rolled under his legs, then I'm sure a minute or so later Mehmet equalised. If Meldrum done something with the first, catch it, block it, kick it then obviously the subsequent events don't happen like they did.
  11. Dubordeau was with us before signing for Killie, played a blinder against Rangers in our last league win over them which shows how long ago that was, but with equal measure had many a horror show but I would put Craig Samson and Colin Meldrum above him in being Lillian Gish. Still wake up in a cold sweat at night thinking of Meldrums performance vs Dundee United where we got beat 5-4, not to mention dropping a tame header between his legs which helped save St Mirren from relegation.
  12. Clark loved a howler against us. He once sliced a clearance right into Scott McDonald's head and I'm sure he dived over Mazingas only goal for us.
  13. It's funny to think that they had Trevor Carson on the books at the start of the season and let him leave to go to a rival.
  14. Yeah, we have certainly exhausted the use of the 91 Cup winners. So 32 years have passed since, and the gap between the 1952 Scottish Cup win and 1991 was 39 years, I wonder if we will go beyond that, we have managed the 2 League Cup Finals and 2 Scottish Cup Finals since then, just a shame it was against the arse cheeks, I know it wouldn't guarantee a victory but it would be nice to get a crack at a final against one of the other clubs. This was my first season attending games, cup glory, pumping both Rangers and Celtic followed by some European footie the next campaign then the false expectations that we would do this all the time.
  15. Jake Taylor, played eight games (7 starts) for us we lost 6 of them, and drew 1, the one game we did win was when we beat Killie he came on as a sub in the 89th min. Lee Lucas was great at passing but was made of Faberge egg. I don't know what he was thinking about with that tackle against Accies.
  16. His shooting ability was tremendous. Despite the scoreline, this was my favourite goal from his collection.
  17. Just to put it into perspective, Michael Higdon was the last non Old Firm player to win the award ten years ago then before Higdon you need to go back to the 1989/90 when Jim Bett won it. I know tap in has scored plenty goals this season but the general consensus from Celtic fans I know was that Reo Hatate was the fave. What a season VV has had, really pulled us out of trouble with his quality. You think of the misses he has had against Aberdeen, Dundee United x 2, Livi etc he could have been well beyond 30 for the season. I know I'm wearing C & A specs but his contribution to the side no player was more deserving of winning it. Kinda like a few years ago when Callum Davidson wins a double for St Johnstone but Steven Gerrard wins the manager award.
  18. A scone and tea at half past three makes the day a little brighter. So take your cakes and fancy tarts and stick them up yer shiter.
  19. Yeah, thankfully our club were nice enough to step in and paid for a ticket for the fans that attended the original fixture. Killie had to rearrange their jolly to Tenerife as they booked to go away to a training camp on the day of the rearranged game, so effectively we helped pay for that.
  20. Yeah that's who I was coming to say. I think it took him a few more years to make his mark and be consistently used by Tommy McLean after his transition from junior football. Loved watching Dougie and Tommy Coyne back in the day.
