  1. I was just thinking you had to be there last week to appreciate today’s performance.WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT!
  2. Well done to the team, who really lifted their game today. Very enjoyable day for the Bo’ness fans. Good win over a very competent Darvel side. Third goal was a peach.
  3. Will be going more in hope than expectation……. I hope they play like they’re capable of, but if they play like last week I expect a drubbing. Anyway as you say Dave - Mon the BU’s!
  4. If he’s going to score goals he’s going to need to get the ball in a scoring position first.
  5. That’s 50 years of trying to stress the positive.
  6. Bad day at the office yesterday, impossible to pick a man off the match for all the wrong reasons. Only one side looked like they wanted to win, and they did. Bo’ness didn’t look like winning from the off. I know they were not the “first team”, but they didn’t look like they had met each other before never mind played together. They didn’t attack quick enough, allowing Cumbernauld to get back every time. The number of crosses, and good crosses at that, that Cumbernauld got in it was inevitable that they were going to score, and only poor finishing kept the score down. Only glimmer of hope at the moment is it’s the same squad that started the season. If we can get back to that then things will improve.
  7. Start of the season gave us high hopes, but the bubble has burst. Unfortunately todays score line really flattered Bo’ness. Considering the end of last season, a mid table finish this year is again a reasonable expectation. Stuart has shown himself to be a promising manager, with very sensible comments in interviews, and hopefully he will bring things back to an even keel.
  8. Bo’ness had a change of management that’s made a big impact. They were a hard watch latterly under the previous management.
  9. Gretna didn’t look like a team that had 20+ goals past them in the previous three games. Enjoyed the game, and Gretna looked threatening for parts of the match , the three trialists must have made quite a difference. Another 3 points, well done all.
  10. No they’re not, how many managers have Tranent had since Max left? Though I think one only lasted a week.
  11. Can only agree with this, well done everyone.
  12. Sorry to see Devon go, great servant to the BU’s. Thanks for everything.
  13. Best start to the season in a long time. Best first half in a long time. Great to see so many players attack the goal, rather than look to make a pass. Pity about the attendance, but keep playing like that, and the numbers will improve.
  14. Was quite glad the wee rose managed to get promoted. Missed the derby games. Really don’t miss the numpties. Wee rose fan posting on the Bo’ness site about Whitburn? Why?
  15. In your case fishing, now off you go.
  16. Surely you have more problems to worry about than toilet provision in 5 months time.
  17. Would like a bit more info. A website would be helpful, but agree with Buboy, and understand why there’s not one at the moment. Personally, I think we should be told when a player has left/signed. Not who they are in talks with etc. Loose lips sink ships, and hearing rumours about who we are hoping to sign, might give another club ideas, or encourage an existing / prospective player second thoughts. Annoying, but probably best for the club. Would like a bit more notice of games to arrange work and family so I can get along. Lowland league website good for this, but only LL fixtures.
  18. Think he means 24-25 season after we’re promoted
  19. Comes from a chat I had at Olivebank about 5+ years ago. Was discussing the sides, and he said you had a backer who fell out with the committee, and that’s why the side had taken a dip. That’s why I added the lesser extent.
  20. How many teams have we seen an ego trip bank roller build up a club, then walk away? Then there is a crash and burn. Can think of Lochee, Hurlford, and to a lesser extent Musselburgh. Hope the Belters enjoy the ride.
  21. Was looking forward to the games against the wee rose, will have to add Tranent to the list now.
  22. For what it’s worth, does this now mean Steven Hislop is now out of a job? He was/is the assistant manager at Tranent. We need someone who can steady the ship, and he def. was a fan favourite as a player. Experience as an assistant, maybe he could step up.
