  1. Would like to add a big please come back.
  2. Thanks for that. Must pay more attention in class.
  3. Thanks for the updates, couldn’t make the match. When will we know who we play in the next round? About time we get a home draw
  4. I think everyone will agree that it would have been better that Covid hadn’t happened, and the season had played out. But we won the league according to the criteria at the time. As you say no guarantee of promotion yet, but no play off against Beith, possibly no play off at all, is what I mean by the back door. Not won on the field, but due to off field regulations. Anyway cup half full, will enjoy the return of the wee rose when/if it happens.
  5. The best thing to do is ignore him. As soon as I see the name I skip the post. Don't want to give him the oxygen of publicity- in fact don't want to give him the oxygen of oxygen really
  6. Be good to get the derby back. Hopefully the wee rose getting up by the back door will shut them up about our promotion.
  7. If we’d played like the start and end of the season I think we could be a few places higher, but we didn’t. We could crawl up another place if results go our way in final games. Way the team’s playing at the moment agree about League cup
  8. I never thought I would be saying this, but I agree with Lithgierose. After reading the earlier post by Jambo’ness regarding finance, I can see no benefit in having them. I have no doubt they will dump the lowland league without a second thought if something they think better comes along.
  9. Some of the good times have been thanks to the treasure chest. Football is a team game and all season it's looked like we've had 11 players who've never met before. Ian started the season well for us, and hopefully he'll end it well. Possible players need to want to play for the team rather than the cash, and a Little magic might be an encouragement. At the moment thanks to Ian, the mibees are positive rather than negative.
  10. Getting the wee rose in the league would be icing on the cake, even if it is by default. Why can’t Beith be promoted?
  11. TBH I thought Ian would be more of the same, but the last two games have shown a new spirit in the team. At last they have been able to string some passes together. I’m looking forward to the remainder of this season far more than I did three weeks ago. Thanks for everything Max, welcome to the hot seat Ian, best of luck, and best wishes.
  12. Very enjoyable game tonight. Would have liked a win, but felt a draw was a fair result. Think Lewis McArthur has been a great addition to the team. Good team performance, one of the best of the season.
  13. Funny season, we’ve won as many as we’ve lost, but it really doesn’t seem that way. Nobody in the team who gets me excited when he gets on the ball in or near the box. Just expect them to look for someone to pass to.
  14. I’m sure the committee have a better knowledge of who’s available/ might be interested in the manager’s job. They will know the financial situation, and possibly which players are staying/leaving. From where I stand, the cash through the gates this season will not have been great, and we have a squad of players who don’t seem to play as a team. I don’t think we have played the same players in roughly the same positions two games running. Do we need a reset? Yes, do we need a rebuild? Possibly. I suggested Steven Hislop as he seems to be doing a reasonable job at Tranent, and I think he has a good knowledge of this level of football. He is a name that’s still well loved at Newtown, and would carry the fans. Don’t know if he’d want the job to be honest. Ian Little has been with the club since the summer, and should know the team. I imagine he will be in charge on Saturday, it’s up to him to prove himself. Who ever gets the job gets my support.
  15. Have we still got Hisslop's phone number? Probably either as a player or a manager.
