  1. (to the tune of ymca by the village people) it's fun to score when you're kenny mclean it's fun to score when you're kenny mclean
  2. The way I see it, our performance deserved no worse than a draw and if that had been the outcome I'd have been fairly content considering what a tough fixture it was and would still be feeling pretty confident about Georgia. The fact that we nicked a win was a generous little tipping of the scales by the football gods which we should all just accept and enjoy without fretting too much that we may not have decisively earned the "better team" medal overall. A draw here would still have placed us far ahead of most of our expectations for this point in the campaign.
  3. For the stat fans: last night's win against Norway brings Clarke's win rate as Scotland manager up to a nice clean 50.0% (for competitive games it's 53.8% if my maths are right.)
  4. Thanks for explaining this, I was trying and failing to understand how the process works from wikipedia. The next two games against Georgia and Cyprus both certainly seem very winnable from where we're sitting now, and if we can pull those off then I think we can basically consider the job of securing a top-two position complete and treat the last 3 games as a mini-campaign for first place. It still feels a little unbelievable to be contemplating a top-seed entry to a major tournament, but if we can keep up this form there's no reason at all we can't do it. Roll on Tuesday.
  5. It's described as a "bounce game" on the club website so presumably there will be some actual kicking of balls into goals going on. Probably not the most exciting thing in the world but hey, it's free!
  6. Nice little vid of the last day's training in La Torre just posted by the team: Am I right in thinking that they're gonna be at Lesser Hampden again in the coming week?
  7. This is a disturbingly reasonable, well-considered move. The club needs to announce that they've accidentally sold Dom Thomas for one pound due to an admin error to restore balance to the universe.
  8. This sort of feels like the most ridiculous possible outcome to this whole saga but hey, at least I can walk to a game now.
  9. Doak has played 0 minutes of first-team football since the fixtures in March, to be fair. I'm assuming he'll be one of the under-21s reportedly joining the senior squad for the training camp in Spain and I'm sure he'll get his call-up in due time, but evidently Clarke doesn't think the timing is quite right yet and I find it hard to really disagree. The lad's still comfortably ahead of schedule for his age and hopefully he'll get some chances to really shine at Liverpool in the coming season.
  10. I think that finishing in the top three of the Championship two seasons after being in League Two is probably much better than the club anticipated at the outset of the project, to be honest. I don't think the idea was ever to treat the whole venture as a failure if the team didn't make it to the top division in the quickest possible timeframe (although obviously it's been disappointing to blow a golden opportunity to do so). Don't really know about "more money being chucked at it" but I would imagine that the club is still pretty solvent from the Hampden sale and I would hope that the next season will be an opportunity to really grow the support as an established Championship side with an actual home ground in the heart of the south side where it should be.
  11. Yes we need more quality teams in the top division like the one that finished dead last the two most recent times they competed in it.
  12. QP have already confirmed that the Dundee game will be played at Ochilview but if Lesser Hampden had been ready on time then I don't think it would be some sort of outrageous swindle for us to get to play one of our home fixtures at our actual home ground for the first time in 2 years.
  13. Confirmation from the club that the two remaining home games will be played at Ochilview: https://queensparkfc.co.uk/update-on-remaining-home-fixtures/ The game against Hamilton Academical will take place on Friday, April 14 with a 7.45pm kick off. The visit of Dundee (which is being broadcast live by BBC Scotland) being held on Friday, May 5 also with a 7.45pm kick-off. Club President David Hunter said: “This decision has been taken now, as there remains a number of outstanding build requirements in the East Stand. This has delayed our planned test events and time has gone against us to receive the required certification to host these games. Our supporters have given us tremendous backing this season. We thank them for that support we apologise for the scheduling of another Friday night fixture.” Further information will be issued in respect of ticketing arrangements in due course.
  14. They should put a statue of Steve Clarke holding Scott McTominay's hand outside Hampden like that one of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse.
  15. ^ Yeah no worries, I'd just seen there'd been some talk about playing at LH before the end of the season and thought those listings on the site might reflect that intention. Haven't really been keeping that up to date with how the development is progressing tbf.
  16. Oh, really? This is what I see under "Ground" on the page for the Hamilton game (for previous games the map shows Ochilview Park). https://queensparkfc.co.uk/event/queens-park-v-hamilton-academical-2/
  17. I see that the QP website is listing Lesser Hampden as the venue for the two remaining home games. Anyone know if this has been confirmed elsewhere?
