  1. Huge win for Burgh Thorn win 3-2 away at Kilsyth Athletic Not a ground of hurry back to

  4. Was tempted to head up to Dunterlie today, but glad I never reading this and after seeing Thorn at The Vale. What sort of crowd was there today?
  5. Is Cammy Crooks still with you guys? Thought he was a smashing player at the Burgh
  6. Good summation with Liam McWilliams keeping Thorn in the game at 2-1. Only settled in the dying minutes, really.Vale had clearly sussed the Thotn tactic of playing long through the gaps between full backs and central defenders and stopped that right from the off.
  7. Darvel 1 v Hurlford United 1 Pollok 1 v Drumchapel United 2 Arthurlie 3 v Renfrew 1 Whitletts Victoria 3 v Neilston 3 Lugar Boswell Thistle 3v Irvine Victoria 1 BSC Glasgow 1 v Giffnock 4
  8. George bought it 12 to 15 years ago and prior to that it was owned by a variety of developers and a “local businessman” when the old committee had to sell it to pay old social club debts. There is a limited Johnstone Burgh FC company and I’m assuming that it is which will own the ground, but the club itself is still in the hands of the members. I don’t know how that relationship works, but the guy who pulled it all together is a Burgh man and is up there doing work on the place. I’ll disagree with the signing strategy, but it’s their money and their heart is in the right place.
  9. Safe to say the inter league cup games were a bigger failure than usual for me, hopefully a decent score here Clydebank 2 v Cumnock Juniors 0 Vale of Clyde 1 v St. Roch’s 3 Caledonian Locomotive 3v St. Anthony’s 0 Lanark United 3 v Yoker Athletic 1 Glasgow Perthshire 3 v Girvan 1 Campbeltown Pupils 2 v Royal Albert 0
  10. Burgh formally apply for permission for the plans previously shared on this thread. Ownership of the park only came back in the hands of the “company that own the club” (This is not an invitation to OF fans) and they are pressing on. Only gripe is the move away from grass, but they’d struggle to get planning permission otherwise and I can see why they’re doing it. https://www.the-gazette.co.uk/news/24660521.major-plans-unveiled-upgrade-johnstone-football-ground/?fbclid=IwY2xjawF-D8tleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHe7OymkOb17UsHhuP8z9b2iTmXL0ggkiIrxsTN6m3IAPy8niQ2lyuetp_Q_aem_U4TReQOBxTW_VNalcPmsiA&sfnsn=scwspwa
  11. Thorn could’ve been 3 up in the first ten minutes! But agree, Talbot should be too good for Broxburn.
  12. Seen Burgh at the following Firhill (SJC final in 2000) Love St (SJC semi in 2000) Bonnyrigg Rose - pre season friendly with free bar Excelsior, Airdrie v Glasgow Uni Cappielow (friendly v Morton Reserves in the 80’s) Thorn Athletic still to reach those heights!
  13. Dalry Thistle 1 v Civil Service Strollers 4 Glasgow United 3v Forth Wanderers 1 Kirkintilloch Rob Roy 3 v Whitehill Welfare 3 Neilston 1 v East Stirlingshire 3 Shotts Bon Accord 2 v Albion Rovers 1 Sauchie 2 v Kilwinning Rangers 0
  14. I watched Ardeer at home to Thorn and thought they were a decent side and reckon they’ll still be in with a shout if going up. They have a real bam element in their support though
