  1. We made ICT look like world beaters today and they are not! They were able to put together twenty plus passes together with ease. Its not looking good at all, and I don't see where the next goal or win is coming from. Williamson added some aggression and ability to hold up the ball, but was introduced far too late. Questions need to be asked of management as we lack any threat or ideas and there is no excuse for that with almost any squad. Where can we get two or three points from, Arbroath - fingers crossed but not a certainty. I'm afraid I think we are heading for the playoffs and maybe ...
  2. Why do stewards continue to stand on steps in season ticket/members area and block the view for some?
  3. Don't think that would have been the case. With huge crowds from Celtic/Rangers and decent attendence from some other teams there would have been a good budget.
  4. Would have taken a season in the top flight whatever the results. How amazing would that have been!!!! Would have brought in some decent revenue as well, Celtic and Rangers at Hampden - probably sell outs.
  5. I admire your confidence. We had an amazing season last year but fell apart towards the end, hopefully we don't see a repeat! Still have thoughts of what if ... Murray stayed.
  6. Next week is huge, lose that and we are really in trouble. Based on today, not confident of a positive result. Eighth place looks like a massive achievement if we can hold on.
  7. Great to see we now have attacking options with bringing back Williamson, return from injury of Mcleish and addition of Crole, and Hinds. However, we still do not have another proven striker at this level! Hopefully, one of our back up strikers will hit some form. Paton has been outstanding, but we need cover and help for him to replace him when needed and even come on to add firepower and finish off teams. Tizard coming back strong is also great to see. Surviving obviously target number 1, which we should achieve but with continuing good results play offs are possible.
  8. Information on new signing from Wales Online from June last year https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-plan-cardiff-citys-youngsters-26915956.amp
  9. No need for that! There is plenty of parking at Hampden. There is also lots of street parking minutes away, for example Kinghorn Drive.
  10. We need additions up front to help Paton, provide an alternative rather than more centre backs. We have Bannon, Reid, Tizard, Fox and also Thomson who has played very well there. Fox is proven and when he returns to fitness will be looking to return. Bannon has done very well. Tizard and Reid have made mistakes but have ability and will improve. Thomson has been more than capable. Meanwhile, we only have Paton who has proven to be a real asset. He knows where the goal is, links up play, is a team player and has a good free kick in him. However, if he is ever injured we are in trouble. Friday he looked exhausted, no wonder the work he put in. There was clearly no one to replace him. When we are on top, we don't have another forward to join him to finish teams off, such as the Morton game. We don't have anyone to give him competition. This area must be a priority!
  11. Yes, and we never landed on the moon, the earth is flat, the election was stolen, Lord Lucan works in a chippie in South Ayrshire and we have numerous reptiles walking alongside us!
  12. I guess you are into conspiracy theories ? I have been called a lot of things, but never a plant! I would not know a committee member if I saw them. My impression is that most believe the committee are not very organised, perhaps they are better at subterfuge? I don't think I am following the party line, for example I have always believed having just one recognised striker is not appropriate for any team at any level, and the team needs someone with other qualities such as pace or aerial ability to vary our attacking options. Paton links up play well, can finish and as we have seen can score a free kick. However, all players need competition and assistance which is missing. However, developing youth players and giving them a pathway is as most everyone can agree is a good model to follow. We have seen positives with many of the players brought in such as Bannon and Mckenna. The balance has not been right and needs addressing, with signings now. The target is surviving in the league and with additions in key areas I don't think we are a million miles away. Nuijten was the assistant not the manager, and so he is now implementing his own ideas with the help of O'Ware and to me is making progress. Perhaps a new manager coming in will make a huge difference but it is not certain. Going on a merry-go-round manager chase can end in disaster and my concern would be losing the positives which have been achieved, if a new manager had contradictory ideas and values.
  13. I have said in other posts that we need to work on defending corners, Nuijten has also made this comment, as did Bannon. Whoever, is manager and the players need to make big improvements here and on crosses generally. Paton's goal scoring record when the team has been struggling is impressive. However, I have also posted that we need other options up front to work with and replace Paton when required. A striker who brings something else, maybe with greater pace or aerial threat, to add to out attacking options. The overall strategy has not gone to plan, but there are positives. I just don't want us to throw out the baby with the bath water! Ferrie again makes great saves, Mckenna has an amazing career in front of him, Bannon does not look out of place, Thomson has been great at times in defence and midfield, Spong is very talented and Paton has shown that he can score at this level. I don't think we are too far away from turning it around with some additions to the squad with experience. Ripping it all up and starting again does not mean success will follow.
  14. Will you be looking for a change of manager, if a newly appointed manager does not turn around results after four games?
  15. I don't agree with the clamour to appoint a new manager. Nuijten, for me has improved the team overall in a short period of time and has been able to put in changes to strategy. Appointing another manager who may have done all right somewhere and badly at other clubs is not necessarily a recipe for success. We certainly need some new players in, particularly up front to support or replace Paton when needed. If this happens, we can start picking up points and remain in the league. We would then have a squad of very young experienced players, which would be very positive for the future.
  16. A better performance from Queen's Park. If we could just defend corners! Paton's first goal was due to his hard work and the second pure skill. Thomson again put in a great performance. Mauchin did well at times and got some crosses in and showed some pace. Defending corners a priority along with some help for Paton
  17. I don't see any lack of effort and I certainly see disappointment on the players faces. They care, we care - there is no doubt. Everyone knows the team is young and could benefit from some more experience. What could make a real difference however, are some reinforcements up front for Paton to work with or be replaced when needed. We have too much reliance on one player, which is not a recipe for success. A striker who is an aerial threat or with a bit of pace would give us another string to our bow, which would make a huge difference.
  18. How does this all work? Are there hustings, statements? How do people decide who to vote for? Is it too late for anyone to become a member?
  19. We all need to be behind the team and coaches at this time. Its easy when the going is good, when its not going well we need to dig deep. I hope we have a good support for this one, the players deserve it.
  20. The big need is for some help up top for Paton. We did not again have a striker on the bench. When Paton got a yellow card and wondered who would go up front if he got sent off? Airdrie were able to bring on a forward who made a difference. We don not have that option and we need to do something about it!
  21. Thomson put in an outstanding effort, easily best player on pitch. Ferrie also put in another top performance. Great effort from all of the team. Don't think we have too much missing to move up the table. Some support, alternatives up front should be the main priority.
