That game was meaningless for us, but it the CIS had won, and scored at least twice, they'd have been guaranteed qualification for the semis. (A 1-0 win would have done in the end them since the Netherlands beat Germany.) It's all a bit Glorious Failure, I know, but the team deserve a lot of credit for the performance that night.

Of course I'm cherry picking, but we've one point and no goals from the last four games. Davidson had a good start, and it's hopefully, probably enough to have saved us from relegation for which I am thankful, and there's no argument that over the course he's bettered Veldman. But one point and no goals from the last four games... And let's not forget that Veldman was the Championship's August manager of the month. -

There's no what-if-we-kept-Veldman? fantasy. Results were terrible, he had to go. Doesn't change the fact that Davidson's currently doing no better a job with a stronger squad. -

I agree. January basically saw us sign the players that Veldman needed to make his system work. I was musing the other week about Veldman's substitutions and the fact that, until recently, we'd been very lucky with injuries to key players this season. Probably a coincidence, but who knows? -

There might be the occasional goal, to be fair. -
Gauld scored again last night; a very McTominay-esque goal: The commentator talking about him "drawing" the first half red card is amusing. The dude stamped on the back of his calf.

Right, so being picked for, and appearing for, the first team squad is evidence of not being good enough to get near the first team squad. Gotcha.

Ramsay had two first team appearances for Liverpool. OK, one was only a late sub appearance in Europe, but the other was the full 90 minutes in the league cup.

Mibbe Rudy Giuliani with a burner phone? And that got me thinking that even if Trump gets back in and sets the US on the road to theocratic dictatorship, global nuclear war and the end of human civilisation, it will all have been worth it for Rudy's Four Seasons press conference. Mankind's greatest moment. -
This could have been Harrison Ashby's time to shine, if he wasn't injured...

Better in my book to make the effort and fail than to deliberately break the entire fucking country for the sake of the votes of a few dumbass culture warrior wanks.

Conceding that you won't be able to meet your ambitious carbon reduction targets is not the same as simply not bothering to try for culture war reasons.

Freaser has been, on the whole, a very good player for Scotland, I think. He's made a real impact off the bench in the past - was it against Israel in the Nations League where their fullbacks had kept our fullbacks quiet all night, Fraser comes on, gives us some extra attacking width, and we almost immediately get a goal from a cross from the RWB (possibly O'Donnell - memory is vague).
