That game was meaningless for us, but it the CIS had won, and scored at least twice, they'd have been guaranteed qualification for the semis. I agree. January basically saw us sign the players that Veldman needed to make his system work. I was musing the other week about Veldman's substitutions and the fact that, until recently, we'd been very lucky with injuries to key players this season. Probably a coincidence, but who knows?

Freaser has been, on the whole, a very good player for Scotland, I think. He's made a real impact off the bench in the past - was it against Israel in the Nations League where their fullbacks had kept our fullbacks quiet all night, Fraser comes on, gives us some extra attacking width, and we almost immediately get a goal from a cross from the RWB (possibly O'Donnell - memory is vague).
