  1. I'd say that's harsh on Garrity. He's not going to be the best winger at the club but he's averaged a goal or assist every 120 minutes since coming back from Annan in January, which is the best at the club in that time. Don't see any harm in giving him another season to try prove himself as a starting 11 Championship level player whilst knowing he's going to be effective off the bench if not, especially when it's looking likely that he and Bearne will be the only forward options to remain from this season. Doesn't change the fact we need a proven replacement for Muirhead however.
  2. Aye, Livi, this is Robbie Muirhead. Help yourself and leave the big handsome fella with the mullet alone.
  3. On paper, playing at League 2 level under Ian McCall was a very good chance for him to mature and come back ready to challenge. Quite disappointing that it's not really worked out but I'll reserve my judgement on him for now, definitely deserving of at least a league cup group to stake his claim. He's 19 years old with 78 senior appearances under his belt so this season there's no excuse, would be a real waste of ability if he wasn't able to make it at Morton.
  4. Daily Record reporting that Robbie Crawford has snubbed a new deal to sign for Partick… ouch.
  5. A relatively decent season with some fond memories to look back on, but I'm glad it's behind us now and we can start counting down the short 68 days until the league cup returns. It'll be interesting to see how the squad is looking come July and what comes of the player meetings today. If the Oakley rumours are to be believed then we'll have our work cut out. Got myself in a right huff over Muirhead on Friday as well after travelling all that way for a dead rubber to see him let the team down like that, and not for the first time, but he's dug us out of a lot more holes than he's put us into.
  6. That's a disgrace, remarkably not the first time either. What's it going to take for Muirhead to watch what he's saying with these refs?
  7. Shaping up to be a lovely night for the worst game of football you've ever seen.
  8. Likely to be both, but I remember him coming out with a statement somewhere saying it was a done deal to stay here until the goalposts moved at the last minute?
  9. I see Calvin Miller tops the assist charts for the whole SPFL this season, 3 ahead of Matt O'Riley in second place. Really came onto a game towards the business end of last season, could've done with him this year. Did it ever come out why his new deal fell through at the last minute?
  10. I find it hard to believe but in retrospect I couldn't really blame Dougie for going for the ICT job if the rumours are indeed true. He'd done a grand job last season but was very open about being let down with the budget and subsequently sitting bottom of the league. If that's you and you're offered anywhere near that sort of money with a far bigger budget you'd jump at it. No doubt in my mind that Inverness would be no where near where they are if Dougie was appointed either, so cheers to the ICT board
  11. Flashbacks to the Sean McGinty game at Arbroath reading this, still wake up in cold sweats thinking about it.
  12. These are the games we either turn into prime Barca or that Brechin City team, players still fighting for contracts so it won't be a case of downing tools. Equally as nice to be able to relax about this game as it is frustrating that we have nothing to play for.
  13. The linesman's carry on at the disallowed goal looks a lot worse now that the cameras show it was quiet clearly onside. Would've been seething had it actually meant something.
  14. You'd think the Raith players were being sent for 90 minutes in the Gulag the way these threads go. With Wilson and Strapp out and Baird and Blues likely to join them we'll either see a rejuvenated team with a point to prove or a disjointed scramble as we've seen more often than not this season. Anyone's guess how this one will go, 3 points would be nice but I won't lose sleep if not. Thoughts go out to the Raith players in advance.
  15. Yeah, alarm bells would be ringing if Dougie instead said he'd be happy to only ever manage a mid-table Championship team on a shoestring budget his whole career. He's more than capable of reaching a higher level than us and I'm sure he will, hopefully after his contract runs out in 2026. Won't be reading too much into the comments.
  16. As much as I'd take him over McIntosh it still gives me the fear. With lower-Championship level strikers there's a Robert Thomson for every George Oakley, and with every forward option we have signed up still to prove themselves at this level it's a big risk. If we do bring in Bird we then need to start looking at adding some proven quality into the squad, but there's a long summer ahead for that.
  17. I also thought he looked OK against us with Cove a few times, but given he's spent the last few years playing with part time teams on the east coast he's probably not going to be up for relocating and likely chucking his full time job.
  18. Mullen McMillan Gallagher Holt McMann Sibbald Stanton Paton Vaughan Middleton Graham
  19. He's been decent enough in spells, but there's also been times he's let us down such as the Ross County game where he cost us, and then the Inverness game at Cappielow sticks out where he just kept passing the ball out the pitch. Not reached the same levels he did last year, but definitely enough of a player in there to keep about.
  20. Very inconsistent, Broadfoot has kept him on the bench when he's been fit. He's not been terrible but he's been poor for a lot of the season. Imagine we'll be looking to upgrade in the summer.
  21. I think 1 of the 2 will, Oakley preferably and probably more likely as well. Muirhead's been here 5 years and he's still earcupping Morton fans after scoring, which is justified by some of the abuse he gets and I have no problem with it as long as he's producing results to back it up, but now that he'll probably have options elsewhere I can't see him putting up with it.
  22. Our current squad size of 20/21 should be fine at this level but that can't include as many players as we currently have either staring at retirement, injury prone or unproven at this level. All 5 January recruits last season, arguably excluding Roy, were proven at this level or above and at decent stages in their careers, i.e. not breaking through or winding down, and they all replaced players who couldn't cut it in the Championship then. I'm fully aware that's a lot easier said than done, but we can't regress again this summer.
  23. I think it's easy to criticise tactics etc. when things aren't going well but we're still approaching games the same way we did when we went on our longest ever unbeaten run this season, we've just not been very good at carrying it out since then. For me what's killed us has been the severe lack of January recruitment. Last January we replaced McGregor, Hynes, Lithgow and Kabia with Calvin Miller, George Oakley, Calum Waters, Ally Roy (lol) and a certain ginger imposter who shall not be named. On the whole a decent upgrade to the squad, and after the January window closed we picked up 27 points. This season our only January business was to loan out Logan O'Boy, and we've picked up 12 points since. Clearly we don't have room for rotation and we're playing guys with nothing in the tank. That's probably Imrie's biggest failure since arriving, had a squad of players who'd just made history and took us onto a 7 point cushion in the playoffs and wasn't able to supplement it with a bit of freshness to kick on. Aw well, onto next season.
