What does this lad John even mean about Villa? Sadly, when I think of Gerrard as a manager, I can only think of his side collapsing against Manchester City. -
Airdrieonians vs The Champions - 26/04/24

I found the pattern on Leanne Crichton's coat mesmerising. -
You don't need a philosophy to find midfielders who can find a bit of space and centre-halves who can pass into feet. Pure Barclays over-complication.

I I have just revisited the SFA wiki page and realised there are several more leagues than I thought, under the Affiliated Associations. Visiting somewhere scenic for Friday night summer football sounds great, maybe combined with any local cricket. This Welfare League website is slick.

Psychological. Caving in against your two biggest traditional rivals does not go down well. Personally, I am not too stressed about the Liverpool situation. If they ensure players maintain a consistent standard and don't get big-headed, or go missing, I'm ok. Get a manager in and let him get on with it.

The jingle on the DER advert on Granada telly gave you the impression they were happy for to visit the shop and start messing about with all the kit. I miss those shop window days. It was essential for any Merserail staff to have a transistor radio to update you on the scores. However, new technology now means I spend part of my lunch break wondering what the Arbroath squad will be for next season. What a time to be alive!

Not being able to hit a cow's arse with a banjo is one thing, but those goals are way too soft.

Sit in and listen to the local wireless, head down the alehouse for the big telly or get to a ground? After not being able to join the over 1,800 crowd at Marine for last night's Liverpool Senior Cup Final, headed to the Wirral version tonight. Laird's had a man sent off for retaliation, after about 30 minutes.. They then scored an excellent goal, which was unusual in that crosses at this level are typically abysmal. I thought their second was just enough of a foul to affect the defender, but they sneaked one in after a defensive mix up. Most folk (except me) thought the third goal was meant as it sailed over the keeper. I am old school and thought Capenhurst were a bit too nice, but congratulations Laird's on really digging in and winning the big one!

I went there for the last Rugby League World Cup Final. It defo needs a spruce up, but doubt the current owners care. I was at Tynecastle for our women's cup final and it looks smarter to me. Stewarding and staff were a lot friendlier than OT and I noticed that even the invitations for the media seating were polite.

Delighted to see Big Angus get his goal because I like him. Excellent effort by Aberdeen. -
Semi Final: Rangers vs Hearts

Although Butland is decent, I think Rangers defence is poor. What a missed opportunity. Silva even diving when he receives a goalscoring opportunity, in line with his usual theatrics. -
The competition has been rubbish for years, thanks to the FA meddling with it and setting up a league which manager's now prioritise. I didn't even know what day the final was on. Shame for Coventry, though.

Croeso. Hiked uphill from the beautiful Colwyn Bay beach for some Cymru Premier action, at Llanelian Road in Old Colwyn. The pitch is on a plateau and looked in good nick, with 924 turning up to enjoy the last home game of the season in the fresh North Wales air. Anything involving TNS is a waste of time, but Colwyn Bay vs Barry Town is a decent match up. After poor finishing and some good blocks by Barry , The Seagulls nodded in a close-range winner. However, other results meant they will be preparing for life in Cymru North next season.

If intentional, I appreciate the little background touches in your shots. The Seaforth Docks end of that freight line loomed large over yesterday's pre-match walk on Crosby Beach. If not, still great photos.

From down here, I find the BBC's attitude to Scottish football baffling. I had to search the iPlayer and Sounds to find out what I could get access to. There is some great YouTube content highlighting the Scottish game and the BBC is supposed to be promoting their own digital content. If there is a massive cup game on today, then let me know I can get the highlights on the iPlayer. 5live has been mentioned, but the local stations have seen a drop in quality. Long gone are the days when the legendary Alan "Jacko" Jackson interviewed a lad on his Radio Merseyside show all about Queen of the South's history, during their great cup run.
