  1. And a win will only paper over the cracks unfortunately. As far as I am concerned he has had his chance and blown it. We will hear how unlucky we were not to get a draw/win but that is still not good enough. No disrespect to QP or teams like the Albion but they were there for the taking and a half competent side would have done the business. We make a substition 1 minute into injury time when we are getting beat - that is inspired and guaranteed to waste time! Thought Dykes had returned to his club. Is Ross Dunlop injured or out of favour at East Fife? would have him back in an instance - he and Marsh appeared a competent pairing when they were together. 2. 13 League Games - 3 wins, 2 draws, 8 defeats including 5 on the bounce. A grand total of 11 points from 36 - how much longer will the board give him?
  3. Good news about McBrearty - hopefully he will shift some of the deadwood. We might have a chance tomorrow with McKinnon in charge of the Spiders but the Sword of Damacles is still hanging over Irons Head
  4. Where do we go from here? Another inspired appointment by the board. Was Bombers or McMenamens records as bad? Answers on a stamp to the board.
  5. Unless we take 6 points from the next three games, and that appears highly unlikely, we are fucked. Irons has done nothing with the team since the Waterford game. Less than impressed with his team selections, signings and substitutions but even less impressed with the board and his selection. Last roll of the dice in January.
  6. The fact that there was no pre match thread for this game shows the general apathy and discontent surrounding the club at the moment. We do not know what the preferred team is , certain players should be nowhere near that team and we cannot defend for toffee. It is hard to see us getting out of this rut at the moment and the new manager factor has quickly evaporated. I would like to know what other managers were considered or if Irons was the easy option. There has been question marks over the board's decsion making in the last few years and at the moment this is turning out to be another. Yesterday, as per normal, we concede an easily defended goal then get ourselves back into the game before conceding again in injury time, it is becoming the norm and there is an air of ineviditability that it will happen. We do not move the ball quickly enough to penetrate defences. We paff about with the ball at the back giving the opposition time to reorganise and defend and then fail to peretrate them. We need to move the ball about on the ground quickly. Biabi tried his best but was isolated and long balls to him are no use. Again we do not use subs until the last gasp and the introduction of McGuigan did nothing. I do not what has happened to him but he is a changed player, for the worst, this season. New signings will have to come in when the window opens in January and they will have to gel quickly. We desperately need to win the next 2 home games and if we don't I do not know where we will go from there but the Lowland League will be beckoning. Well done to the fans that came out on a horrid day to watch a horrid game of football.
  7. Happy days - started in the early 70's when it was between 15p and 25p a pint as far as I can recall. Tartan Special, Guardsman?, Breaker lager, Skol, Black and Tans, Kestral, McEwans lager, bottles of Whitbread and bottles of Newcastle brown, Pink Panthers ( Bottle of cider, bottle of Carlsberg Special and blackburrent juice in a pint tumbler - what a colourful chunder that gave you) mad keen to experiment then and some monstous hangovers as well. Well into my 20's before settling down with decent brandy and a bootle of lager.
  8. Still wankers, a smile would break their faces.
  9. Waltzed through the airport this morning. Interesting to see the changes at check in and also upstairs. No hassle from arrival to getting on the flight. Arrival at Newark was a joke - only 2 immigration officers to greet the flights and took over an hour to clear immigration. After 40 minutes they brought 2 more officers out but the apathy of them all was appalling. God bless America
  10. Flew to New York this morning with United. Paid for extra leg room and both wife and I had 3 seats each. Made a big difference and does not happen too often. Entertainment was good and food acceptable for a change with an American carrier
  11. Eloy and Jane spring to mind immediately but have recently been listening to Jane especially this track - Daytime. Also was into Neu when they first appeared on the scene. Jane - Daytime.mp4
  12. According to comments made on the Warriors thread it would appear that David Marsh has not left the club after all - interesting.
  13. If that is indeed the case then the board really need to look closely at the appoinment they have made. Wonder how he reacts in his daytime job when someone makes a comment to him in the street that he does not like. If comments have been made after a game then he needs to look and understand why they have been made or is it the case that he cannot accept criticism. He is the manager it is his team selection that has played like headless chickens for 3 games now or he has lost the dressingroom already? Saturday will be very interesting.
  14. For the first time in 50 years I walked out in disgust after the 3rd goal. No shots on target, no commitment, little effort an absoluite disgrace. We seemed incapable of penetrating the QP defence and were clearly there for the taking by what looked like a mediocre team - no offence to QP. What was galling was at 2 - 0 down there was no urgency to make a substitution. If that is true about Marsh then that is a disgrace considering how poor Armstrong looked and given the fact that Munro is a liability when he tries to play football. Something rotten about the club just now. The way Irons was convieniently available when the board decided to ditch McMenamen would appear to show that this was pre planned. Were there no other candidates available and what will happen if his role in the police changes and requires him to work weekends and shifts? Too many players have went of the boil. McGuigan has lost his way, Cook blows hot and cold, McLaughlan is not a full back and this shows week in week out and we have no back up if our midfield is not firing. Still to see what exactly Dykes offers to the team. Massive game against Albion Rovers next week.
  15. South African captain being interviewed and asked if he had every dreamed of winning the World Cup and replies that he used to dream of where his next meal was coming from. Puts it all into perspective - enjoy the moment big man.
  16. chariot lying on its back on fire. Giruy
  17. Several of the team need to take a long hard look at themselves. McGuigan is definately out of sorts and not just for the last couple of games. I would bench him for a few weeks and go with McBride and Anderson and see how things turn out. Scullion may come in for Cook.
  18. What was his 2 bookings for - mistimed tackles or petulance? Another poor performance by the team - was McGuigans substitution for injury or tactical? If tactical expect him to be dropped on Saturday - has not been the same player this season for some reason. Saturday is a must win.
  19. Just back from Spain where they decided to show the England game and not this one in the bars!!!! Great result for the Warriors and what an impact Davy Irons and Willie Gibson have had on the team. Rotten night for playing a game but I bet the excitment meant no one noticed the weather.
  20. Leased my current car from AC in Stirling and thought they were very good. Lease due to expire soon so returned to AC Volvo in Stirling and they could not care less. Attended on 3 occasions to see about leasing the vehicle and spoke to one salesman twice. Was serious about going for a dearer car but salesman was uninterested. Phoned and he was on day off and left a message to phone me - that was 3months ago and still waiting for the call. Went through to a Volvo dealer in Corstophine and the attitude was day and night. They were actually interested in selling a vehicle to me. Really great service and contract soon signed.
  21. Really enjoyed the game yesterday. Thought we were about to take a tanking when we conceeded the early goal but all credit to the side for battling back. As FF says that would have been a masscre under McMenamim. Thought that Cove looked a good team but just had a bit of an off day which will do them good and show that they are not invincible. Had a check of previous results and yesterday was the first time we have scored 3 goals in a game since we beat Montrose 3-2 almost exactly 1 year ago. Made a difference yesterday that we were on top of Cove as soon as they got the ball but again it showed that we definately need a decent left back. McLaughlin has done fairly well but gets caught out too often when they cut inside him. Apparently the trialist was a centre back - anyone know who he was? Probably be needed because I think yesterday was Munro's 4 th booking of the season and will give us the cover we need in that position. 7 points from the last 3 games is hopefully the result of the new manager and hope we keep it going.
  22. On our website now. Will be interesting to see how he is used. Will he give something for the others to worry about?
  23. Stay next door to a bellend like that. Does not give a f**k what he does to your property but suddenly takes umbrage when you do the same back. Have now discovered that his garden is his pride and joy and instead of retaliating I give his garden a sprinkling of industrial weedkiller. If I ever move a few days afterwards he will discover his garden is a desert.
