  1. Last 12 League Fixtures between the clubs

    2010/11

    Stirling 1 - 2 Falkirk

    Falkirk 4 - 2 Stirling

    Stirling 0 - 5 Falkirk

    Falkirk 3 - 0 Stirling

    1997/98

    Falkirk 1 - 0 Stirling

    Stirling 0 - 6 Falkirk

    Falkirk 3 - 2 Stirling

    Stirling 2 - 3 Falkirk

    1996/97

    Falkirk 2 - 2 Stirling

    Stirling 0 - 0 Falkirk

    Falkirk 5 - 2 Stirling

    Stirling 1 - 0 Falkirk

27 years since we have beaten Falkirk in the league since a Steve McCormick strike back in 1996

Shows just how far we had fallen that there have been so few league meetings between the clubs.

    Some right humpings in there

  2. Can the mighty Bairns overcome the plucky Binos and leapfrog them in the league table.

All the pressure on Falkirk, I'll settle for a point but wouldn't surprise me if we grind out a 1-0 win and go five clear of them.

How have you been playing so far this season Falkirk fans?

  3. Amazing start from the team this year. To carry it over from last season to the league cup group and then to the league games is some feat 🥳

I suspect our run comes to an end as we negotiate three tricky fixtures coming up.

East Kilbride - On one hand I want to keep the good run going but on the other I'm thinking just to throw out the young players. I expect it will be a mix of youngsters and the likes of Cooper, Banner, Spence etc. EK thumped someone again today. Will be hard game even with our first team playing.

Aberdeen - We are expected to lose and we probably will but I hope the players go out and put up a fight and make Aberdeen work for it. A sell out crowd and hopefully a great game.

Falkirk  - Away to the bairns is as tough as it will be in this league. Would happily take a point but on the run we are on and with this team I genuinely believe we are capable of grinding out a result.

As an ultimate pessimist, I can also easily see us losing all three games 😄

Think if the players knew or cared, that game would probably have been 7.

I remember 4-0 at half time thinking that this was our chance to get our own back and being gutted at only scoring the one in the second half. Was that the season Marek Tomana was outrageous for the first six months before teams cottoned on and started booting him about?

Whi the f**k was Malseed? Don't remember him at all.

  5. I do remember a smashing 4-4 draw at the recs I think the following season. Was looking for some more details of the game online but coming up blank.

All I seem to recall is Kicky Woods scoring a cracking goal right near the endnto either put us ahead or level the game. I remember being behind the goals and going nuts

  6. Enjoying the media videos @TheWestStand keep up the good work.

In the interviews with Darren Young and Creaney, I'm glad you asked "What will Edinburgh bring?" rather than "We play X next week, how do you approach that game?"

The former allows him to open up on the question about Edinburgh rather than the latter question which always tends to get the same answer "we approach it as we always do etc etc"

Great to see you growing and improving into the role. The real test will come when we are getting humped and you have to ask the awkward questions 😆

Would Aberdeen fill the three sides of the ground given the game is now on a Friday night?

My thoughts too now it's on a Friday night. I know Aberdeen have a good travelling support but unsure what that actually means as numbers for a Friday night game. I imagine public transport back from Stirling post game will be an issue too.

  8. He did an interview last month I think, where he said he hadn't decided yet. It said in same article that Steve Clarke had tried to call him up to the full squad but he had turned it down.

Not decided yet is the polite media way of saying he doesn't want to rule out an England call up first as that's his priority.

    So here's where we are:

    Group A
Ayr United will win the group if they beat Alloa at home. In practice, unless Stirling can go to St Johnstone and win, they've won it anyway, and the runner up won't be in the next round unless Stirling win either.

    Group B
Tight group but Thistle remain favourites. They meet Spartans in the last game at Firhill and outright winners win the group. If it's a draw then, regardless of who wins the shoot out, Falkirk would win the group if they beat Peterhead! Runner up can't get more than eight and will almost certainly not go through.

    Group C
If Hamilton beat Cove outright they win the group. If they win on pens and Livi beat Clyde outright then Livi will win the group. If Cove beat Hamilton then they will reach 9 points. Unless Clyde beat Livi then the runner up will either get 10 points or 9 points with a decent GD.

    Group D
Ross County have almost certainly won the group. 1 point v Kelty confirms it. If Morton beat Edinburgh outright at home, as they certainly should, they'll make 9 points and at least a +5 GD. That will be good enough. If Kelty beat Ross County outright all three teams likely finish on 9 but unless Kelty win by three clear goals they still won't go through.

    Group E
Airdrie need a point v Bonnyrigg to clinch the group. Dundee can beat ICT at home to get 9 pts and at least +3 GD.

    Group F
Kilmarnock blew it tonight but still win the group with an outright win at Albion Rovers Saturday. Raith can win at home to Annan to finish on 9 pts and a GD of at least +2

    Group G
Motherwell win the group with a point against East Fife. A penalty win would take East Fife to 9 points with a +2 GD but it won't be good enough unless either Dundee, Morton or Hamilton drop points. Queen of the South might pinch 2nd with 8 points if they win at Queen's Park and Motherwell win or East Fife outright but that's likely not enough anyway.

    Group H
St Mirren v Forfar will sort out the group. Forfar need to hold on for a draw to win the group. Losing on penalties is fine. If St Mirren win they'll win the group and Forfar will finish on 9 pts and a GD of +3 or less. It might be enough, it likely won't.

    So for best runners up:
If Hamilton win then Livingston will be one assuming they beat Clyde (10 points)
Morton look likely to get one. A home win over Edinburgh will get them 9 points and a GD of +5 or more.

The last one is more up in the air after Raith's penalty win tonight. If they beat Annan they'll get 9 pts and a GD of at least +3. Dundee if they beat Inverness will have 9 pts and a GD of at least +3. It would come down to which can win by more but Raith have scored a goal more so Dundee need to outscore them. Unless two of the above don't happen Forfar won't make it as a runner up (they'll have to win the group). Neither will East Fife, if they finish on 9 pts it will be with a +2 GD. And Stirling Albion have it their own hands to get to 10 points and go through of course but they'd need to win outright in Perth.

    Any errors?

PS - For seeding if anyone cares, Ross County, Airdrie and Stirling Albion have it in their own hands to reach 12 points and get seeded but again that means Stirling winning away at St Johnstone. Can the Saints continue to be as bad? Motherwell, Hamilton and Ayr are all liable to reach 11 points also if any of them stumble.

Stirling can only reach 10 points, not 12
