  1. Going in the right direction deej - keep at it
  2. Lovely hilly 10k in the woods today. No knee pain. Off road seems to be the way forward.
  3. More cross country shenanigans today in the North District. Nairn was the venue. Up to my thighs in water. Twice. Was brilliant fun.
  4. 29 mins. Was really hard to stay at that pace - I was chatting to people along the route and would get a bit carried away and be running too fast, so had to slow down to compensate. I hit 5k at bang on 29 mins, so ended up being 10 seconds over as the course is slightly long. First time I've been a pacer, but enjoyed doing it. Nice not to be going hell for leather.
  5. parkrun was wild today. Still, had fun pacing!
  6. I've entered the 10k. Bugger it. I'll probably do Aviemore Half Marathon 2017 and this will be a nice race to do during my training.
  7. Both of mine are bad at the mo, Kenzie! I see there's been an addition to the Great Run series: Great Aberdeen Run link
  8. Running quicker would also be good, though!
  9. Your Strava route was impressive morrison! Cross country was superb today, absolutely loved it. I wasn't last! Yay!
  10. So Aviemore 10k ended up being Aviemore 8.24k. There was no marshal at a turn so about a mile was cut off the course. Didn't really bother me, I decided before the race just to treat it as a fun run, but there are a lot of unhappy runners! wrt XC, I'm running my first XC race next week. Quite excited!
  11. Very good - Winston carrying the coffin "ma leg's gone!"!! Too bloody funny
  12. Unsurprisingly, I didn't get in to London either. Oh well, I'll try again next year. Aviemore this weekend. I'm doing the 10k, although I'd originally signed up to the half. Training went tits up and I seem to have a bit of an issue with my left IT band which is Not Good. I'll be lucky to get round in under an hour on Sunday.
  13. Congratulations to all the new mums and dads!
  14. We're gutted. He was coming here on Wednesday
  15. Yeah I do quite a bit. I'm a bit slower off road, but I am working harder than road running and I imagine it's better for your joints! The only different equipment you need is trainers, but to be honest, that's only if it's pretty muddy and/or particularly rocky. You'd just use your road shoes for a wee run on the trails in the woods if it's been dry. I love it.
  16. parkrun UK have posted the pic of my son and I on their Facebook page!
  17. The results are probably provisional at this stage Chris?
  18. Well done you lot, some superb running! I took my wee lad to parkrun yesterday. He's 6 years old and ran the 5k in 30:15!! Future talent I reckon
  19. Had another fab 10k in the woods yesterday. I'll get nothing now until Saturday when I could do parkrun in the morning and I'm orienteering too.
  20. Thanks Bishy! That's really helpful! I have just entered the Aviemore Half. I have demons to beat there... and I've had a couple of gins, so it didn't take much for me to click on the 'enter now' button.
  21. No, will be getting the train down. This is all hypothetical - depends on how much work we get through Tues to Fri!
  22. Which parkrun is closest to Glasgow city centre? I'm down for work in a few weeks and I was going to take my barcode...
  23. I was run director again this morning at parkrun. Had a few issues with the results - I don't think the scanners like the rain very much... Weird weather today.
  24. 10k hilly trail run. It was wet and muddy. Loved it!
