Exactly, and I think this is what those who think he would be a hit are basing their opinions on. I've not seen anything to suggest that he would be our main goal threat which is the player we should now be signing. I've nothing against the lad at all but I just don't think he would be any better than what we already have. If we sign him though then I'll give him my full backing!

Don't think so. I was thinking, 'what's the point of another youngster when we've got Botti, Sheps and O'Hara'? Then had a look on Wiki and see that he's 24 next month! It's unlikely that he'll become the goalscorer that we need given he hasn't managed to tie down a first team spot thus far. Obviously, I hope I'm completely wrong if we do end up signing him though.

If we start with those 3 up front we'll have scored maybe 14 goals by Christmas time! We need proven quality and experience up front or an unknown who can pull off a Taylor or Farid type effort. I'm a fan of Baird as he's a hard working wee guy but he's not going to score a huge amount of goals IMO. I would be happy if he kicked off the season on the bench as that would mean that we would have at least one striker in who Houstie rates higher. What's the score with Doolan at Partick? I understood that we were looking at him. He's a proven goalscorer who should do well at this level. There surely should be money available as well given the cup run and the saving on McDonald and Loy's wages?

I'm a bit surprised at the Rodgers signing. Bowman must have done something really stupid or be a bad influence in the dressing room or something because I've always thought he looked very capable any time I've seen him. If we bring in another 'keeper as BPM suggests then this should surely be the end for him?

And we don't need any midfielders or, at least, we don't at the moment. We need a goalie, a right back to rival Duffie and two strikers.

After hearing about DB joining Dumbarton was just thinking about the number of former players we'll be up against next season. Farid, Gow, Millar, Barr, Gibson, Stewart and Jordan White. Nearly all of them capable of making a difference in a game. Have I missed anyone out?

Well, if you open the terracing I hope to feck that your volunteers give it a right good clean tomorrow because it was covered in muck last time we were there.

Whilst I would have been happy enough to keep him, of all the trillion or so players that we've sold or would have wanted to keep over the past 5 or 6 years he's probably the one that I was least bothered about losing.

Nah. I think his best show for us was probably last week when he certainly made a difference. I think Botti thinks he's a better player than he actually is though. Tends to hog the ball a lot, doesn't know when to pass it (or doesn't want to) and is regularly caught offiside. Still to really see the pace that he's supposed to have and aint very good in the air either. I think a loan spell would be good for him as we can't rely on him as an option and would give him good experience.

I'm not having that, that's just crap! He's as sound defensively as anybody else that could play that position. He's really good in the air for his height and his timing in the tackle is excellent. He gets lost a wee bit positionally at times but that's the only criticism I could give on his defensive capabilities. He's good going forward as well and would probably be most effective in a wing back role but I think he does a great job defensively given what he was when he came to the club. I actually nominated him for POTY in that position and I reckon he's worth a good few bob to us now! I don't think we need a new left back at all tbh.

I preferred it when we were being nice.
