  1. After the battering that Kabia and Dowds got last night I wouldn't be surprised if we've lost them for Saturday!
  2. Of course I could be wildly off the mark here (not), but I think you may just have had something to say if we were forced to play Wilson or Ompreon if either Dowds or Kabia were injured. I've a feeling that another striker may have become the most pressing area if that was the case!
  3. We definitely needed another striker after Keena left. Whether that should have been Griffiths or not is another question right enough.
  4. Dowds has definitely improved the physical side of his game. He was getting kicked black and blue last night (with no sympathy from the ref.) but still managed to shrug defenders off. I'd like to see what happened with his effort near the end as I couldn't see it clearly and it wasn't on the highlights. He made space for himself in the box but something happened when he pulled the trigger. Someone said that he was pushed as he struck the ball but I thought he'd clipped himself with his standing foot.
  5. He looked favourite to get to it too from where I was sitting.
  6. Aye, I said that at the time. He had the ball in space, with McCann totally open to his left, yet he wasted several seconds looking for other options before inevitably giving it to McCann who, as you say, was being closed down by that point. Must have happened 5 or 6 times.
  7. Agreed. We could maybe get away with a back 4 of Williamson, Watson, Dixon and ATS with McCann played on the left of a 3 with Telfer and Jacobs (assuming we play all 3 strikers) but that then gives us Williamson, who is a poor defender and a very weak midfield, meaning that there will be less service to the front 3 overall. I'd rather we played Mills, Watson and Dixon with Williamson and McCann in their usual roles and Kabia and Dowds up front. Jacobs and Telfer in the middle with another. Who that would be is a big question though.
  8. Well' he could have had his pick of about ten teams TBF.
  9. Imagine Kabia standing next to some poor unsuspecting defender on the half way line as Paul Watson rattles it up the park!!
  10. Absolutely agree. Rennie's had 8 league games and we have 11 left therefore we need to get a new manager in now so that we can sack him after another 8 games and the new new guy will still have 3 games left to prepare for next season!
  11. I had a look at Rennie's stats there and (if they're accurate) his win rate is 44% over the various clubs that he's managed. I'd assume that a large portion of those wins too would have come closer to the end than the beginning of his tenure so I think we should stick with him next season, assuming he wants to be here, to give him the chance to bring in his own players. From what I've seen so far I'd be confident that he would improve us if given that opportunity.
  12. Aye, you could argue that but Falkirk fans still wouldn't give him 4 years to get us promoted.
  13. Ian Murray has managed Airdrie for 3 or 4 seasons and hasn't managed to promote them. Do you think Falkirk fans would give him that long? Not a chance!
  14. BTW, can anyone that was behind the goals confirm what happened with Mckay? From the footage it looked to me that he didn't do very much and was actually grabbed round the neck by a Cove player. Didn't see anything that he should have been sent off for. Also thought that we should have had a penalty just before when the 'keeper rattled Jaze on the back of the head.
  15. I'd argue that both McKay and Hetherington put in more effort than most. Unfortunately, as we know, effort alone isn't enough.
  16. The Yorkshire Ripper got a job as a lorry driver because his employer didn't actually know he was a murderer at the time. Similarly, Falkirk didn't know that McCafferty was a sex offender or we wouldn't have employed him. Raith, on the other hand, were obviously fully aware of Goodwillie's crimes when you signed him. It's not difficult, although I fully understand how you can't grasp it.
  17. I think the problem with playing a 4-4-2 is that we don't have a RB. Williamson and McCann would get ridden silly as full backs so we'd have to plat ATS at LB and probably Miller on the right (or Mills if he can play there). I suppose we could go: Mutch; Mills/Miller, Watson, Dixon, ATS; f**k knows who, Jacobs, Telfer, McCann; Kabia, Dowds. I notice that St Johnstone managed a win today and that Craig wasn't in the squad. Let's hope they have decided they can do without him!
  18. I would have started Mills, Dixon and Kabia instead of McKay ATS and Griffiths. I think it's very harsh on Kabia and would have preferred Griffiths giving us the last 20 or 30 minutes as I don't think he'll last the whole game.
  19. Any idea why? I would have thought that they would want him to get some game time before Saturday. Hope he's not injured.
  20. Agree with this team other than I would probably try Hetherington in the middle rather than McGuffie as I think we'll need to be less open in midfield and I'm curious to see if Rennie has actually managed to turn him into a player. Ideally, of course, we'll have signed a Liam Craig by then and the question won't arise.
  21. This will have already been discussed I'm sure but why don't you boys go back in for Goodwillie? Can't see how it can damage your reputation too much given that he's been playing for you for years anyway?
  22. Know what I was thinking right...I was thinking that if we could dominate the first half and then dominate the second we'd dominate the whole game and we'd win it if we could score goals and not let any in. It's time Rennie realised that and got it sorted out. That's what good managers would do anyway.
  23. Agreed. Simple. Rennie's obviously not the guy for us.
