  1. It was you that was quoting the players that these teams are signing now. You may well be right though because I don't think this new BOD are up to the job of allowing the management team to sign any actual good players, in fact they shouldn't have appointed them in the first place...should they?
  2. Ask Morton and indeed Livi fans what they think of Tiffoney. If Falkirk were in the position that Arbroath and Raith are in now we may be able to sign players of that calibre too. We're not, which is the whole fucking point!!
  3. I obviously wasn't at the game and didn't watch the stream (as they fuk my nerves up) but I think we need to concentrate on the positives and trust in R&M that they can sort out the negatives. I remain confident that they can.
  4. McCall got lucky with Tiffoney IMO and also got very lucky that we decided to implode at the same time. What excellent contacts do McCall, McGlynn and Campbell have BTW, and who told you about them? I assume it's your scouting contacts, the lassie in the ticket office that gets you into our games or the guy on the coaching staff at Raith?
  5. Completely agree. I've said for weeks now that either McGuffie or Ross should be playing at centre back. Ben Weekes would be a good shout too.
  6. It's not just a matter of signing 'decent quality' though Shadwell. Getting players to come will now be very, very difficult. McInroy for example has just returned to Celtic and, by all accounts, is a decent defensive mid. At the beginning of the season we may have had a good chance of getting him but, if it was you, would you opt to sign for Falkirk or go back to Airdrie given the current situations of both clubs? You have a knack of making it sound like there's a queue of good players just itching to join us which most definitely will not be the case. In fact, I think that Rennie & Miller have already discovered this given Miller's earlier comments of 'signings will be made sooner rather than later'. It's simply not as easy as it sounds.
  7. Get a competent defense, take the pressure off the front line and who knows. There's goals in Dowds now for sure. There's goals in the team. Was anyone really surprised that we lost today? The defensive failings have been glaringly obvious all season so it was inevitable that we would lose goals to a half decent side. Rennie knows this and I'm sure will be doing his best to get defenders in. If we can get a stabilised defence with better than what's there currently and a better defensive midfielder I think we will most definitely start scoring and moving forward. Getting the 3 players we need will be the hard part though. It would be good of course to get a striker and goalie in too but the priority has to be two defenders and a ball winning midfielder. Either way I'd be keeping Rennie for as long as we can. I think he's got something about him and he's improved things so far.
  8. The new board haven't moved quickly enough to sack the manager IMO.
  9. Even at that, unless it's a very short-term loan (which it may well be), we would be left with a glut of left sided defenders once Dixon is back. Seven in fact.
  10. I've seen dozens upon dozens of strange guys warming up in the navy blue. Strange that they were even there in the fuckin first place!!
  11. I've been at games when the new signing was announced as he was running on to the pitch!
  12. Would seem quite a strange signing as he's apparently left-sided. That would give us him, Dixon, T-S and Lemon all vying for the one, maybe two positions, leaving us with McKay or Hall on the other side. It would be really unusual to have three left footed players in a back three I would say.
  13. Neither. Edit to say that, TBF, he looked quite good in his pre-season trial games. Was quite effective when we beat Raith 6-2 (I think) and I remember him laying a goal on a plate for Keena in a match at TFS with a fantastic pass. He originally looked like he may make an impression, including a good goal at Montrose, but went fairly rapidly downhill thereafter.
  14. I'd rather play Miller in there TBH, although it would be interesting to see whether Rennie's coaching can make Hetherington any better.
  15. Aye, if you run the highlights again though and freeze at the right time you'll see that his hand is just inside the box.
  16. Then your beef should be with the guy who put it on SM, not the FSS.
  17. Wasn't there and have only seen the highlights, however, the two goals that you did get were extremely fortuitous so, unless you've missed two other sitters that weren't on the telly then I would say that you should have scored at least two, not four.
  18. That's more like it Shadwell. I was staring to get worried about you.
  19. I felt that McCann (who had definitely been fouled previously) went through the back of McLean to concede the penalty and that Ramsbottom's hands were still inside the box when he made contact, albeit that the majority of his body was outside by that point. I'm affwy guid we the pause button you see!
  20. I'd be interested to know how he's 'independently wealthy'.
  21. He was responding to a question put by wee Lewis who referred to us as 'Falkirk'. Not really surprising that he replied in kind.
  22. Let's not show Arbroath any disrespect BTW folks. They've given us back an improved player and their fans have wished him well. They also seem like a decent bunch, despite having probably their best season in who knows how long (maybe ever) they're not gloating or trying to act the Billy big baws!
