  1. The injuries and suspensions should force Kettlewells hand into going back to the 5-3-2. However with our abundance of shit strikers, I can see him playing the 5-2-3 and firing Spittal to LWB and playing Wilko in the 10 role again. That seriously would piss me off. The team has got to be what you said above with for me Wilkinson or Bair in beside Mika up top. I don’t rate Obika in the slightest. Can’t see any gel so far between JO and MB. They look so far off each others wave lengths.
  2. Tactically utterly stupid and naive tonight yet again from Kettlewell. I am now starting to believe he really doesn’t have a clue.
  3. As others have said, shows you much he rates wee Davor. Shove a big striker in there instead. Fair enough he scored so he is vindicated to an extent.
  4. It’s definately a factor. However looking at the development of Ferguson/Hickey and Turnbull is night and day. You have to consider the long term goals. I always thought DT was miles ahead of Ferguson but he’s at the moment IMO way behind him. Celtic as a lot of us expected and anticipated ruined him. I was extremely vociferous about this at the time. It was so much the wrong move for his development. He will now need to take the step to a Bologna or the likes to then try and progress further.
  5. I’m sure it’s only a profit sell on we have. So essentially if Celtic sell him for less than what they paid for him we get nothing. But 15% of profit on any sell over that. Cant for the hell of me remember where I saw that.
  6. That’s the move he should have taken in the first place in my opinion. Similar to Hickey & Ferguson. Would be an international player by now if he did. However wanting to stay home for his burd to finish uni has essentially imo stalled his career. Certainly hasn’t developed well at Celtic and will cost us a fortune in sell on.
  7. I know there is a match day thread for it but what’s our thoughts for Saturday. I wouldn’t be adverse to going back to a 5-4-1 or 3-4-3 whatever you class it as. It worked in the away game against Rangers to an extent and also at home to Celtic. Kelly (unfortunately) Spencer - Casey - Butcher - Blaney - Gent. (Howevef appreciate likely to be SODs and Spencer on left) Davor Paton - Slattery - Spittal Mika. Play Mika on the defenders shoulders and supported mainly by Spittal pushing up. Doubt he will but if Ketts plays 3 strikers we will be utterly fucked as need an extra body on midfield to try and match Celtic.
  8. Well that’s good we have lots of width…. Oh wait. We have none and even those out wide turn inside as they are playing in the wrong side. Genuinely see this as a free hit. Our season returns next week against Dundee. This game couldn’t come at a worse time off the back of our stinking run and an international break. Team already low in confidence, could get an utter thumping and then heading into the Dundee game even more down. Or on the bright side, team low on confidence get a great result away to the league champions with a much bigger budget, confidence is high going into the Dundee game…. Nope me neither.
  9. Don’t be daft. It would be alongside Obika when he is fit 2 games in every 8.
  10. Completely understand your point however do not agree. Even at 32 the guy has more class, ability and desire than the Obika, Bair, Shaw and Wilkinson rolled up together. If it’s possible at all we need to make it happen. Financially unlikely but we could not miss out the chance.
  11. Doing a re watch and on Season 9. Just watched The Gang Gets Quarantined. It’s mad how ahead of their time by about 7 years they were with this one. Brilliant stuff and so accurate.
  12. I’ve said this before. It’s also no surprise the players look unfit. A 3hr training session is probably 2 and half hours of him talking and 30 minutes fitness and ball work.
  13. Believe so. However he’s been clubless since the summer do surely that would override his dislike of Scotland.
  14. Just heard an interesting rumour today about the return of a former player. What’s the old saying about a bad penny always turning up…. Or is it a bad Penney… Would make sense tbh. If he was half the player from his initial spell I would be happy.
  15. It is ironic how he got rid of players like Efford, Tierney and McKinstry who would fit into that 5-2-3 or 3-4-3 formation whatever it is and signed players who don’t and now is playing that…. His signings in the summer where only conducive to a 5-3-2 however the injuries to all strikers resulted in him having to change, playing well but not scoring or winning, sticking to it when we should have changed ie Livi away and now being it a total shit rut. He really hasn’t helped himself.
  16. The thought of Butcher in midfield on his current form and fitness gives me the fear. His mobility looks seriously poor and I think he would be a red card waiting to happen. Maybe after the international break he will be fitter and fresher but tbh I can’t see it. I agree with the rest of Al B’s team but only change would be to give wee Davor a run in there and hope for a Gorrinesque like impact.
  17. That’s how I feel tbh. I’m not one for sacking the manager at the moment however finding it harder and harder to defend him. That today was all on him, his tactics completely and utterly wrong and the fact he changed it at half time he will know. However leaving it until the 77 mins to bring on a left back is criminal. There is no balance to the team. The midfield players are too similar, the strikers not good enough apart from Mika but seemingly he is the target man. The defence however are an absolute shambles. So soft and since his return Butcher has been abysmal. No coincidence we are conceding more with him in the side. He looks slow, weak and like an old man.
  18. Agree. My point is that it’s the first defence people give of him as a keeper that he is seemingly a good shit stopper….he actually he no other redeeming factors imo.
  19. I’ve said previously Kelly is known for his shot stopping. Not for crosses, leadership, distribution etc. When he is underperforming on this, then he really has nothing to fall back on. He looks like a Championship keeper at best.
  20. I have major Furlong vibes about Gent. He also took a few games to settle in and looked like a boy loss to begin with. I genuinely feel Gent could do the same. The wing backs were pivotal to how we played last season and even early parts this year but Kettlewells inadequate replacement of them or utilising them in the wrong position has caused us major issue. No surprise we looked more balance with Gent on and a left footer on the left. Also with Blaney on that side of the defence we look more balanced. I am a big fan of Casey but he has been at fault for a few goals recently and whilst I am not Mugabis biggest fan we would not have conceded those goals with him playing. However least said the better about the weakest link that is between the sticks for us. Genuinely he is like a little boy lost, every other team have a big presence in the goals we have someone who looks at the moment like a wee boy and is so weak that he gets bullied in the box and is scared to come of his line. Needs dropped asap.
  21. That would rely on someone actually wanting to win or attack a corner FFs.
  22. This team are now starting to piss me off. So weak and naive. No one winning a header or competing for a header inside the 18 yard box. Everyone on their heals not their toes and look extremely unfit.
  23. Comfortable win for Killie tomorrow. We are bereft of confidence and with Mika not fit to play more than 45 mins if even that then I can’t see us getting anything. I fancy we will be physically bullied and concede a soft goal or two or three.
