He probably believes that the company is fucked without him whilst completely ignoring that this trajectory all started whilst he was in charge. Did they not get a significant rise in the days after he left? To be honest, I haven't kept up with it in much detail, but it seems like the weekly product is better, although not coming close to the likes of Dynamite (I have zero interest in watching RAW or Smackdown, just like before). I think the stock price rose again when Vince hinted he was coming back, but that's likely because there was talk of a sale, rather than because of him. Plus the markets are just a load of absolute pish anyway, just a bookies for the sort of wankers I used to have to work for. The last part is probably true though. I expect if HHH had come in and gotten everything absolutely spot on and turned every aspect of WWE into an absolute must-watch, then Vince would still believe those decisions were wrong in some way. He'll believe they need him.

First half of last year is it was in the $50-$60+ zone. Back half of the year it was high $60+ coming up on $80. Ratings have held steady, if not improved on average. Raw in particular is getting slated right now, but that's the typical Holiday season lull where it gets battered by MNF and has no meaningful storylines on the road to the Rumble. Live attendance has been up. This is about the negotiating period for the domestic media rights deal. They only signed a short-term extension with HULU for the next day streaming rights. So they can bundle the broadcast and streaming rights. That combo package will see a significant increase regardless. That will also mean most of the major deals will be locked in for multiple years. The company will then be seen at its peak earning power, with nothing left to sell except the company itself.
djchapsticks
Ah well, was nice while it lasted. I look forward to Gunther and Imperium running about in Lederhosen and chasing each other with Bratwursts, LA Knight banging his napper and becoming Max Dupri again and everycunt losing their last names. 77 years old FFS. He'll still be sitting in the back long after the company is sold and he's wondering where Randy and Brutus Beefcake are cos they are meant to be on next.

Mark Connolly
He still owns something like 80% of the stock, so it's a tough task to keep him out if he wants to be running the show

DA Baracus
Top 5 wrestling belts? I'd have to go: 1. WWF Winged Eagle World Championship belt 2. WWF Attitude Era IC belt 3. 'Big Gold' NWA/WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt 4. WWE Undisputed Championship belt (circa 2003) 5. White IC belt (late 80s/early 90s)

TheGoon
The Wrestlenomics pod a good listen if you’re looking for a catch up on the Vince situation/major players now. Saudis makes the most sense to me as a buyer, especially if Vince is still looking to retain some kind of role in the company. They’d be the least likely to want rid of him. Apparently they want a deal done by the middle of the year with the TV negotiations in mind, so a mental few months ahead.
forameus
It's grimly fascinating to imagine what a Saudi-led WWE looks like. Obviously we've got a window into it with the shows over there, but they're basically a company/client relationship. If the client than becomes the company permanently, what happens? Does everything WWE do just get "bigger" and more overblown with money getting chucked at it?
