Livi 293
No: an industry which tries to keep its affairs out of the law courts where possible, to avoid itself descending into farce . In many respects Sport treats the issue similarly to the Church. An example: in football, a red card for a bad tackle results in a suspension. This prevents someone from their legal opportunity to work and earn a wage - for example, a win bonus in the next game. If you took every little thing to court, the game would soon collapse...It is entirely proper for football to discourage its clubs from taking disciplinary matters to court, wherever possible. I'm not talking about red cards here. Surely you can see how ridiculous it must sound to folk who have no interest in sport? "We do not allow our companies to appeal a decision in a court of law. Even if we are punishing them for breaking said 'law.'" Edited October 15, 2009 by Livi 293

They were punished for breaking football rules, rules which aren't protected in law. Sport has to stop its members taking everything to court. Otherwise everything would collapse.
The Master
If that is true, it sums up the utter fucking stupidity, ludicrousness and back-slapping hypocrisy of Scottish football. A football club is not allowed to take its national association (or a league that is a member of said association) to court. If they do, FIFA reserve the right to prevent the international team from competing, and I'm pretty sure UEFA wouldn't be too pleased either (European club competitions). So the SFA and/or SFL need to prevent some moronic club from pretty much killing the rest of the game in this country for their own self-interest. And the only way they can do that is by expelling said club. On a completely different matter, I hear that Spartans have just request more copies of their club brochure to be printed.

If you think our association has stupid rules, feel free to start your own and you can create whatever rules you like..If your too stupid to see why these rules are in place, I really pity you..Nobodys forcing Livi to be part of our leagues but if they want to be part then they must abide by the constitiution.. So hows about you either shut up or fuck-off ,either way I'm happy

To put this further into perspective 75% of all the SFL legal fees over the last five years have been incurred dealing with the issues of one member club. Guess who!!

So hows about you either shut up or fuck-off ,either way I'm happy Livvy have always sought to take advantage of the less than capable aspects of footballing "law" in order to enhance their position within the game. They have never had a moment's hesitation in ripping people off knowing full well that football didn't really have the kind of mechanisms in place to effectively apply a punishment that came anywhere close to reflecting the crime. When the SFL finally got its ducks in a row and punished a member club for its outrageous behaviour, we then have the most pathetic attempts by the most morally corrupt club in the country to avoid the punishment. The hypocrisy that washes over Livvy each and evry day fair takes your breath away. Look at the vitriol being thrown at Airdrie..........because they blame them as key players in ensuring Livvy finally paid a price for the shit they have unloaded on the game since they came into being. Yet those self same people see little or no justification for the footballing public seeing Livingston as little more than the shit on the shoe of the Scottish game. Lets see where they are in five years if Mr Rankine gets some traction behind the things he really wants to do with Livvy. Of course, for now, he is the latest hero of the day. Lets see how long that lasts. Just remember, he keeps himself out of the limelight and distant from the club for good reason.

LIVIFOREVER
They can do whatever the f**k they want, they'll lose. So I positively encourage them to use their resources for this dead-end. Going to be FAF if we don't get a points deduction, you lot will bust a blood vessel, or with a bit of luck break a couple of fingers bashing away at the keyboard in anger.

Perhaps. But chances are most or all of our clubs won't be back in this situation again in 4-5 years...

Livi Willie
While as a Livi fan and obviously not claiming any kind of moral high ground here, can any of our numerous and vociferous enemies answer me these questions? 1/ Franchise- Clyde move 30-odd miles to council-owned stadium. No name change - not franchise? Airdrieonians die, Clydebank change name to Airdrie United, move 30-odd miles and rock up into stadium that Airdrieonians used to play in. Not franchise? Meadowbank move 16 miles from one council-owned stadium to another. more suitable stadium, owned by a different council. ----Franchise F.C.? 2/ Administration. How many people got stiffed. and for how much when Dundee went into admin? How many people got stiffed. and for how much when Partick did the CVA routine to save their hide? How many people got stiffed, and for how much when Donald McGruther saved Falkirk's arse? Just asking....... Time for some righteous indignation here.
Jeggburt
Weren't Clyde groundsharing with Hamilton Accies or something like that? I would hardly call getting a new stadium as franchise, if this was the case. With regards to Clydebank - Airdrieonians, weren't Clydebank already at the point of bankruptcy and death themselves (weren't they forced to dissolve from the SFL before Airdrieonians' demise??) I would say there may be a small element of franchise in that but the fact Clydebank weren't members of the SFL it's like having your Sunday league team bought and thrown into the big time. Looking at administration, I have one answer for you - cronyism.
