Martindale confirming via LiviTV that we're going to have a 'top 4 budget' for next season. That'll surely place some strong expectations on the team next season, good. Lets go win that league.

As opposed to the start of this season when he basically had us relegated before a ball was kicked. We all knew it was going to be a tough season as did he,but relegation 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️.

Could say it's fairly realistic at least, massive overachieving to be in the top 6 twice, and miss it on the last day another two times. Cup final as well, all things said the levels we'd hit in those years are beyond belief when you look back to those Stranraer playoff games.

Hopefully it's time for a new era at the club and we can move on to another chapter. Huge summer and few months ahead for the club in all regards.

There is no doubt its toxic but even more important that the fans stick together.

It's tough knowing the club is ploughing £££'s into legal cases rather than the playing budget.

Did you see Martindale's interview on BBC Scotland post match? In with the bricks thats dangerous position for any club.

I think we agree on many points 👍

It can only be a new era if the current regime gives up control and leaves IMO

Not only is it costing the club money to be in court its also costing them on other parties costs are awarded which is happening regularly - who is really paying all these costs?

What about the other side, we don't even know what they'd be planning for Livingston going forward. Rankine still here after years of having various people saying he's gone, and Hogarth, is he wanting back in or just wanting to sell up, not ideal whoever wins these court cases.

Assume Martindale has decided there will be no overpriced POTY this year for the club?

Season we won the playoffs they had tickets on the day for £20, how times have changed..

Also, who the feck pays Rankine and Hogarth's costs if they win, they'll be the ones in charge of the club, and it's the club they're fighting against. All a bit mental.

If Hogarth was to win who knows he may go after Ward and Cullen directly for costs rather than the club.

Looking at this the ownership wrangles are with the holding company not Livi FC so the club shouldn't be saddled with these legal costs

It’s not the club they’re against - it’s opcco 6 (Ward, Cullen whoever else). Club shouldn’t be paying for any of this.

I think I can live without a POTY this season. I appreciate it’s nice to recognise a (positive) standout in the team but doesn’t feel like the time for any celebration. For what it’s worth, I think Holt and Penrice the standouts.

Holt and Penrice, easily. Honourable mention to Brandon for his initial improvement at right back then later his successful switch to centre mid.

Changing topic to Montano and whether he should be retained. Folk have pointed out he missed around half the season with injuries which needs considered. I agree with that but it depends on the nature of his injuries. It might've just been bad luck this season with unrelated injuries each time rather than it being the same chronic problem. If so, and if we can afford him, it's a no-brainer for me to renew him for next season. I'm a big fan. Excellent dribbling, defends well, offers a goal threat at the other end with his heading and shooting, crossing is good and he has a bit of a warrior spirit to him.

You have just made the point. There are players even in a relegation season that deserve some recognition. Why not recognise that and the service to the club.

Lets be frank if the club wanted a POTY there would have been one regardless of the fans views. They didn't even take a temp check with them

Nouble crossing for Anderson to score was fitting yesterday. Two players ruined by Martindale's tactics and player selection this season. Go back to last summer, don't sign Devlin or Nottingham, instead sign a centre mid to replace Omeonga, play a 4-2-3-1 with Nouble on the left and Anderson as centre forward. The team would've finished 8th - 10th.

Ach well, Captain Hindsight, done now.

I don’t disagree that they are players who deserve some recognition nor that there would be an event if the club wanted to have one. Hopefully this time next year we are in better spirit!

Andrew Shinnie away according to the Daily Record.

Be good if we can get a squad update in the next few days, get an idea of where we're at and who's staying.

Unsurprising I suppose. A player with a great touch and a good passer but I’m unsure if he’s specialist enough to nail a role in a well-oiled team this coming season.

I’d forgotten about Omeonga. With Holt going it does leaving the question about how we fill that combative-destroyer space. At this point I think it probably needs someone more refined and composed than Brandon but he certainly has the energy and aggression for the role. I *think* Carson could be that man but would be interested to hear what others think.

edit: when/how does this thread get punted to the diddy league forum?
