phantoms-livi-lass
know how you feel P-L-L but keep strong. There's a helluva lot of mess to be sorted yet. I think I'll get put in an induced coma & you can wake me up when it's over!
phantoms-livi-lass
I think the thread on Livilions started by RedV shows why Massone and Rankine are so keen on Livingston FC.Basically, there are a number of property issues at stake that are certainly not for the benefit of Livingston FC. Some interesting documents about how and why West Lothian Council are acting as they are on the thread too. I can't link the actual thread - and there are a number of relevant posts. Well done to And180Y who originally raised the issue on here and the watcher (username on Livilions)/Penelope Pistop (username on P&B) for some excellent detective work. If anyone wants to know why Massolini/Wankine and any property developer chancer in Scotland is interested in Livingston FC, have a read of the thread on Livilions started by RedV on the 10th July at 02:17 entitled "Any Comments." *meanwhile elsewhere on Livilions, the supporters continue to slag each other off and fail to grasp the issues. Sounds like one of the fans who is supposedly on the Board and owns a candle stall in Livingston market has spat out his dummy - while "David Hastie" continues to boast about being in the know and the Drum Beat mafia show that they are indeed a bunch of wee laddies with drums. You really couldn't make it up! Now do you see why the fans can't pull together! It's pushing me over the edge!

AND180Y
You are sick On the contrary, I'm quite happy with my clubs situation, you on the other hand would have good reason to be sick as a pig.
vikingTON
Sadly, they'll survive for month after yet another month of cheating and ever-increasing certainty of doom. -
lyle be back
Can't help thinking you're right VikingTON. This saga has more use by dates than a shelf of eggs. End of May, middle of June, end of June, middle of July. I think something will be cobbled together and Livi will survive (and their creditors will get nothing). They've hung on so far.
Guest castlekeeper
surely Livi will be kicked out the league altogether the same as happened to Gretna with a new club invited to join the setup. but Livi and the league have left things a little late so maybe there will be a cop out. and Neil Rankine is still hanging about to see if there is a quick buck to be made.
the auld son
Surely the SFL cannot allow a team which has no electricity,no safety certificate,no money, and a queue of angry creditors at the door ,to start the season
Ivo den Bieman
They will, because they will deem the consequences of their withdrawal/expulsion at this late stage to be worse than allowing them to hirple on on life support for the season. The SFL will also reason that another season will give Livi time to sort all these problems out. If the worst does come to the worst and they are liquidated, the SFL will then be able to shrug their shoulders, expunge the record and say "we gave them every chance" whilst neatly sidestepping their share of the blame in this whole fiasco.

Ad Lib
Gretna weren't kicked out. They resigned. They resigned? I thought they were relegated to Division Three then went bust. There was no Gretna left to resign.

Sergeant Wilson
They resigned? I thought they were relegated to Division Three then went bust. There was no Gretna left to resign. The SFL action regarding the condition of Raydale (not the money situation) was to relegate them to Div 3. The Administrator/Liquidator then made the decision a few days later to resign from the league as they could not guarantee filfilling their fixtures. He obviously had little choice, but The SFL did not kick them out. The SFL has no specific rules regarding financial irregularities. You will notice they usual statement is something along the lines of "a wide range of options/sanctions etc" If the The SFL do anything, it might again be about the safety certificate, who knows?

The thing is the SFL is really only a wee committee of blazers run by the Chairman of the football league clubs. There is unlikely to be a consensus between the Chairman. The Chairman of the likes of Ayr, Raith Rovers, QOS, and some other SF1 clubs will be quite happy to see Livingston limp on through the season as it makes any relegation for their club less likely. Where as, there may be some Chairman in the lower leagues who would like to see Livingston disappear as it opens a possible promotion route. The SFL really needs to have specific rules and penalties for this kind of situation - and harsh as it may seem - I think Livingston should bethrown out the SFL. The whole thing is a farce, especially coming so soon after the Gretna debacle just over a year ago.

KingfaetheSooth
yup think everyone would be quite happy for this to happen and then livi be kicked out of the league at the end of the season Self interest rules OK. It was always thus - though these days money is everything. You just need to read the posts of Raith and Ayr fans on here, creaming their pants about surviving in the SF1 because Livingston look fucked. Sometimes, just sometimes, the "football family(hahahaha)" need to look at the bigger picture and the all round health of football in Scotland. Not expcting anything sensible to happen though - we are too far down the road - football in Scotland is pretty fucked - maybe the fans who used to go regularly to watch football and now go to OOT shopping centres every Saturday afternoon have got it right.
