Recommended Posts

Who won the P&B apprentice and is it worth finding the thread and reading it all from episode 2??? It would be a serious effort.

Kyle won, and no not really as i went out shortly after task 2. ;)

It's never stopped me from drinking in the past, but I'm perhaps not the best role model. I'd say have a drink but play it by ear.

Whit?

Erythromycin

Drinking alcohol while you are taking erythromycin may make you drowsy. Alcohol can also make erythromycin less effective.

According to the NHS website.

Alcohol

Alcohol can interact with certain medicines.

In the case of Erythromycin:

  • there are no known interactions between alcohol and Erythromycin

I got that from My link.

What NHS website are you looking at?

I've got a pool related question. I've always played by a rule that after the break but before any balls are potted that if you hit one of the groups then you must pot a ball of that group in that shot.

So if no one has potted and you go up and hit a red then you must pot a red. The term I was using was that you were declaring red.

The reason it came up was because we were playing and the guy wanted to plant a red into a yellow but by my rules that'd be a foul if he'd potted the yellow after hitting the red first.

Also, what the official rule on the hitting backwards from a break.

How random are the numbers generated by a "lucky dip" on the lottery?

I bought a ticket for tonights draw, turns out I have five numbers from last Saturdays draw.

If it's all random, is there any less chance those numbers will come up again than another random selection? I'd imagine not but if a statistician were to enlighten me, that would be great.

Was arguing with a mate in a casino the other week when 7 reds had come through on the roulette and he claimed black had a better chance of winning as a result. He then won £40 on black!

I know there are lots of different rules played, but the way I've always known it, is that it's an 'open table' (I.e pot either yellow or red, spot or stripe, by any method until someone pots.)

And I've never heard of playing backwards from the break. That in itself may be considered backwards. :P

What are the best websites to find a cheap holiday? I've searched one or two but they are throwing up £300-£400 for a week in a shitty hotel in Tenerife.

Is that the goig rate these days or will there be better deals? Its mid August (13th) i'd be looking at.

There's hundreds of different rules these days. I started out with first ball down, then the player approaching the table nominated, then the breaker nominates. Now i just play first ball down. Always, always, always 2 shots on the black.

Also, what's the proper way to pour a cup of tea with milk and sugar - does the milk or sugar go in first? Personally I put the milk in first but it seems to be a controversial choice here in the office regarding heat and water solubility. That's what you get working around scientists in the loosest sense of the word.

Are all anti biotics necessarily incompatible with alcohol?

I forgot to ask the doctor but I have read the instruction sheet that came with the medication and alcohol doesn't come up at all, whereas lots of other drugs I've never heard of are in the prohibited section.

I don't expect anyone to recognise the name of the anti biotics but for context it is Erythromycin.

I used to be on Erythromycin, it was shit and I was moved onto Oxytetracyclin, which was just as shit. But I had no problems drinking with it, and that was 8 or 9 years ago when I used to partake in heavy underage drinking sessions. I'm pretty sure at the time I was told that it just nullified that days effect of the anti-biotics. I have been on other anti-biotics that made me violently sick though if you mix it with booze. Can't remember what it was called though.

This close, www.teletextholidays.co.uk is normally one of the cheapest, that or www.icelolly.co.uk (I've never booked with them though)

If you have RBS Royalties or the like, they too offer an online search with discounts and benefits.

Proper tea = milk in first. It makes it all the more enjoyable. Teabag = milk in second, otherwise the bag and milk will just be sitting there together getting up to funny business. Not in my cup.
