kiddy
Roglic & Almeida could be playing with fire handing Ben O'Conner a near 5 min GC lead at La Vuelta. Next Thursday until next mountain top finish. Edited August 22 by kiddy
Salvo Montalbano
Eurosport/Quest really don't do highlights well do they? Anyway, madness from Bora yesterday but at least they've acknowledged their mistake.
kiddy
Roglic picked up 6 seconds i intermediate time bonus y/day, but it's gonna take a stack if them to dent O'connor's lead!
Bob in Denny
Yates? what a ride today.... Highlight was the 'escape' by Enric Mas on that bend.. An exciting first week.

An exciting first week. That escape was terrifying. Unbelievable he kept it upright as are the consequences had he hit the barrier. Roglic looks like he's a clear favourite all of a sudden, particularly with key players like Almeida and Arensmann forced home with covid. Bit surprised Kuss hasn't looked more up to defending his title
Bob in Denny
O'Connor shipping 39 seconds today..... not expected but the Roglic noose tightens. Odds of 6/4 are available.... Halfway? Any more O'Connor/ Yates type breakaways? Edited August 28 by Bob in Denny speling
Shuggie_Murray7
O'Connor currently has the largest lead at this stage of the race for a decade. That's crazy and was definitely a blunder giving his so much rope. With that said, I still don't think he wins this Vuelta.

Short, punchy explosive climbs certainly favour the Slovenian.

Bob in Denny
Castrillo captures the stage.. Jeez, that finish was brutal.. Vlasov got to within a bike length then off he pops again.. Ineos may have got themselves an interesting prospect.......
kiddy
Roglic docked 20 secs for drafting his team car after a tactical bike change. O’Connor back to 63 secs ahead. Though I thought Mas looked in better shape than the Slovenian at the end.
Binos
Why does the tour of britain never seem to go through the scottish highlands Confused
Salvo Montalbano
11 hours ago, Binos said: Why does the tour of britain never seem to go through the scottish highlands Confused Not enough infrastructure (hotels, car parks at the summits for finishing line, TV compound, podium etc), transfers too long to get to the next stage, possibly too difficult to close roads (the reason given for the Tour of Britain almost folding again recently). I'd love them to do the road up to Applecross or to Toridon but where are the teams staying, where does the KOM, Sprint, Finish line commissaires and camera equipment go?
stanton
Well done to Primoz Roglic on his win and congratulations to Slovenia for a clean sweep in this years Grand Tours . Unfortunately for Big Ben there was to be no Greg Lemond 1989 TDF style fairytale final day ending for him, but I’m sure he can still be happy with his overall performance. Incidentally there was a great documentary on Sky Documentaries about Lemond well worth a watch if it’s still available Great to see British rider Stevie Williams winning the Tour of Britain with Oscar Onley in second and fellow borderer Calum Thornley winning the KOM jersey
stanton
Another awesome performance from Pogacar today in Montreal. It’s looking pretty ominous for the others in the upcoming World Championships
