kiddy
Gutted for Dan Martin in Liege-Bastogne-Liege, lining up for a second successive win, got onto the leaders wheel & had gapped the pack by a couple of seconds & it looked like his inside pedal caught the road surface at the last corner. Race over. Good win for Gerrans, from what looked a spent Valverde.

Valverde cooked after victory at Fleche Wallonne.Michael Barry pointing the finger at old Sky teammates in the current painkillers saga. No surprise in Sky's fudged response though. http://velonews.competitor.com/2014/04/news/sky-avoids-barry-allegations-says-current-riders-dont-use-tramadol_325617

Kwiatkowski is in some fine form this year. Definitely one to watch for the rest of the season.

Probably do nothing!

He was right up there last year, but his main job was to babysit Cav throughout the flat days so he slipped back.

kiddy
Gutting for Martin, its been like lucky white heather for him the last couple of weeks. Think its outrageous that the British Immigration Agency rejected visa applications for some riders, Maxim Iglinsky most notably. With the TdF starting in Yorkshire, any repeat could put off pro cycling teams from racing here. These fuds obviously don't realise how much cash these events can generate. Wonder how many Yanks will be refused at the Ryder Cup? Edited May 9, 2014 by kiddy

kiddy
Cadel Evans looking in good form in the Giro.
Gogs Grog
Yep he's looking good. Was in good form down under at the start of the season and nothing to suggest he can't repeat that form. Been lucky/good road positioning heading for Monte Cassino that has put him and BMC in a great spot. Not leading as yet and saving their legs until the fun starts in the mountains.
lionel hutz
Evans for a Giro/Vuelta double?
Gogs Grog
Evans for a Giro/Vuelta double? Not sure who's riding the Vuelta tbh, but not sure he has that in him.Just think so far everything has fallen nicely for him this Giro. Great chance to win it but will be interesting to see if a number of riders attack him if he can cope. Looking forward to Quintana having a go like Pozzovivo did. Going to miss the rest of the Giro due to work which is a shame.
Desert Nomad
Quintana was simply awesome today. With the weather and controversy over the apparent neutralisation of the Stelvio descent, an epic day in every sense.

kiddy
Horrible conditions, but a great attack by Quintana. Felt sorry for Hesjedal, that's the best he's ridden since he won it. As for the neutralising the stage argument, didn't stop Cotaldo putting in a major effort, so, IMO, the race was on. If certain riders weren't capable of taking the risk, that's their look out. It's what differentiates Champions from also rans. It's a two horse race, & the momentum's all with Quintana. Can see him winning by 7 or 8 mins when the race finishes.
printer
Epic stage and what a ride from Quintana. Sensational. What an exciting talent he is. Even on the steeper bits near the end of the final climb his pedalling looked effortless.

Looked very smooth next to the ungainly Hesjedal though I'd admit.
